Sorry - I panicked with the title Blush

Greetings and welcome one and all to a friendly and joyful corner of mn - the Christmas bargain thread. Here, we share Christmas present purchases, ideas, links and discount codes, with the aim to spread the Christmas magic and joy and reduce the financial stress.

It's a very busy thread, so see the tips below for helping everything run smoothly and avoiding repetitions of Cookiegate etc al. It's a lovely, friendly bunch and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you for building such a warm, fuzzy and generous spot on mn. I know I've save so much over the years and am so grateful to all of you for sharing.

Pull up a sleigh and relax with a mulled wine and mince pie, for Christmas has nearly arrived!

@ me if you need anything or you want to let me know anything - the thread moves so fast I can't always keep up so this really helps

A few pointers to make everyone’s life easier and the thread be as useful as possible:

  • It’s handy to put in bold the bargains so they’re easy to spot
  • No affiliate links
  • No need to place mark or post messages of hello or thanks at the start of a new thread - use the ‘watch thread’ button
  • Be nice or leave

The current referral thread for sharing referral codes https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/4940918-4940918-bargain-referrals-thread-6 . Please use this rather than this page to share referral links to make the sharing fair.

To make clicks links, you set it up like this only without any spaces apart from between the website and the word(s) you’re writing: www.bargainsahoyeveryonecomehere.co.uk

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for the instructions below.
To make something bold, put this star * either side of the word you want to bold (with no spaces in between)

So starhellostar would look like this.

hello

Obviously use the * not the word star

Some of the below is copied and pasted from previous years, so do @ me if the links don't work

Just found this thread & it looks great.
Anyone know any offers for a kindle or a smartphone?

Also, loose leaf tea or the individual infusers for small leaf? My current infusers aren't doing their job.

For a Kindle, wait until Black Friday - Amazon always do decent offers on their own brands.

Kylie Jenner Cosmic 50ml perfume gift set with 75ml body lotion is £34.40 on Debenhams. If you have a blue light card that takes another 10% off and TopCashback gives another 4% back.

I have the perfume myself and it’s a lovely light fragrance. My friend has commented on it before and it’s her birthday soon so I have just bought one as a gift.

That Hotel chocolat code doesn’t work on the velvetiser, would anyone know of any velvetiser bargains? TIA 😊

Very likely a good deal on QVC in November/early December.

JessiePinkwoman · 27/10/2024 07:22

Sorry to go over old ground, but there was chat about Thermanotes and I didn't pay attention because I'm a bit thick.
Have folk had good experiences with them? £27 on their website (down from £35) and I can't decide whether to go for it or not.

Thank you 😊

WingingIt101 · 27/10/2024 07:30

Oh I am so cross with myself for missing the Nespresso deal! £59 is too much of a stretch but £29 would have been perfect!

Virgin experience have 20% off with SAVE20

Not on the high street are doing 20% off advent calendar's with code DAY2

And the M&S beauty advent calendar drops to £50 from £315 when you spend £35 in the same transaction on clothing/beauty/homeware - not sure what it usually sells for so not sure if that's a bargain or not!

@Mojitoscoladas

Just an FYI to say I ordered the two diffuser offer last year thinking it would be two gifts but they both arrived in the same cardboard box , no white box , so bit disappointing.

I recently bought a Kindle Paperweight in "like new" refurbished condition from an eBay certified shop so may be worth keeping an eye on there. It came in the usual Amazon box with the charger and a covering so nothing to indicate it was used before. It was £63 because eBay had an extra 20% off. If it doesn't need to be spot on for you, it may be worth buying it from there!

I had this when I ordered 4. 1 in a gift box 3 together in a box. I emailed them and explained I'd purchased them for gifts and the sent me out more boxes. The service was great

rhubarbhandsoap · 27/10/2024 08:17

@OnionBag for the Velvetiser if you join as a VIP member (it’s free) you can get it for £69.

It doesn’t seem like any other codes or discounts will stack with that (I was looking last night).

@Myattention is it better to wait for the QVC offer do you think? 🎄

Shakey2022 · 26/10/2024 23:45

Its not available online, @DirtyDensDog i think you are confusing the 2 for £9 deal, which is available to everyone, with the £4 rewards voucher off of the 2 for £9.

Online you can get 2 tubs for £9 rather than £6 each (so a saving of £3 from £12). If @DirtyDensDog purchased 2 lots then that would be their saving of £6 that they mention. If the voucher had worked it would be £4 off (or £7 altogether- £3 off in the 2for £9 & then another £4 voucher off on top making them 2 for £5). It is only available instore & the voucher says 0/1 so can only be used once. Hope that helps/makes sense 😬

Any inspiration for an 11 yo girl who is into anything crafty/baking related?

She's asked for acrylic paints so I've got them already, but racking my brains to think of a few other bits that will appeal to her crafty/creative side.

Struggling to find things that are the right age - things seem to be aimed at young kids or teens/adults...

Some canvases from The Works or Hobby craft to go with the paints? An apron / coverall (she'll need it). A good age appropriate book on painting techniques.......

I can’t figure out if you can make hot chocolate in the bargain Nespresso, or just coffee.

You have to buy them from nespresso usually - the vertuo is their newer machine, soo I haven’t seen any “fake” ones in shops.

It's not cheap, but this is a cracking deal just released from Neom. The contents could be split for different recipients. I can recommend every single item as I have them all, and people always comment on the Real Luxury scent when they come to my home. It's one of their best, I'd say.
