I have never ordered from them before but cass art currently have a sale. Their trust pilot reviews seem fine. My daughter has picked an art set off there for her birthday. I’m sure it isn’t worth the full RRP but is still showing as £99 on Amazon. There seem to be some other good reductions on there as well.

These Argos vouchers expire tonight if they’re any good for anyone?

Thanks @TimPat, probably just on the cusp of being too young for the group. Will look for an alternative.

gardenmusic · 16/06/2024 08:43

I never thought I'd ask this, but can someone explain vouchers to me.
If I were to use the generous Argos codes, would that stop everyone else?
Or can lots of people use the same number?
You see, around Christmas I usually get lots of these offers that I don't need. Are they specific to me, or can I give them to you?
Last year Celtic offers kept turning up.

They tend to be a one time use code that Argos send out, so once someone's used it that's it

gardenmusic · 16/06/2024 09:04

Thank you.
When I order from a certain company, I get discount vouchers for their sister company ie I order from Kettlewell and get Celtic vouchers.
So I will put the vouchers up, and hopefully someone can use them. Hopefully it will be obvious if they cannot?

On previous threads if people have had a one time code they've said they have a code for XXX place does anyone want it and then sent it through DM but you can just post them and then people try and if they work great, if not then someone has beat them to it but still very kind of you to post them for others to get the benefit

Yes, I usually offer mine via DM as in the past, people have spent ages trying different single use codes and wasted their time as they have already been used.

When the threads get busier, there are hundreds of contributors and even more lurkers, therfore codes are used within seconds.

I prefer to give a code to a regular contributor as a mutual appreciation for their input, than leave them to be taken by people who lurk and never give anything back.

That sounds a bit odd now I've read it back, but to me it's the ethos of the Christmas bargain threads community.

Later in the year there will be a thread running parallel to this one for single use codes and referrals. This thread gets too busy to allow them.

Of course not gardenmusic 😀 my dibor glassware always makes my table look pretty and summery

YeahWhateverGoAway · 16/06/2024 12:16

Oodies have a huge sale on at the moment. Some adults Oodies down to £20.

psuedocream3 · 16/06/2024 13:53

Thank you @GoingUphill and @Jazzjazzyjulez for the headsup on WHSmith.

The items I had in my basket were further reduced today so made an order, also got an extra 5% cashback by buying a whsmith voucher from JamDoughnut, saving an extra £3. And if topcashback confirms potentially anoher £3.40.

MerylSqueak · 16/06/2024 14:32

Thanks for this link, just got lovely little bits and bobs.

Could someone point me in the direction of an appropriate stuffed toy for a 10 year old boy? Really loves sports & is really intelligent but unfortunately don't know much about what video games he plays or characters he's into.
& long story short, it needs to be a soft toy or plush

My son would love the new Build a Bear Capybara!

Might be asking too much, but I'd like to get DS1 the Lego 21333 Van Gogh set but it's mad money, even with damaged packaging on Amazon. Any tips?? Also needs to shippable to Ireland, to make things more complicated!

I just got an amazing deal on the shark pirate ship lego set from Dreamzzz on Very.

It is already £80 which is £40 cheaper than most places but by opening an account and getting 20%, I managed to get it for £67!

It is for my son's bday and I told him it was too expensive so cannot wait to see his face!

Worth a look on Very quite a bit of lego reduced.

Well done!! I spent ages in the run up to Christmas looking for bargains on that, and felt quite smug at managing to stack various deals to get it for £77 in November. I've not seen it cheaper since, so £67 is fantastic! It's the best of the Dreamzzz sets too, IMO, so I'm sure your son will be really happy.

Have you seen this 'dupe' Lego version? It looks like a pretty good approximation for a fraction of the price...

BurntBakedBeans · 16/06/2024 21:05

Has anyone got any recommendations for sets of good quality alcohol marker pens? Or seen good deals on them?
