A bit stuck for DH so looking to see if I can copy someone else’s ideas!

My DH is a huge gamer so a PS5 😂

Toooldtoworry · 09/12/2023 07:43

I forgot I also commissioned a picture if our youngest dog for him.

My work colleague did it for him. I'd actually clean forgotten until last week 🤣

@Toooldtoworry I love it! He looks very regal 😌

Gall10 · 09/12/2023 09:23

From a lot of these replies I’m guessing Christmas Day will be spent with the husband playing games while the wife cooks the dinner….she’ll then msg on mumsnet that the husband didn’t help at all on Christmas Day & should she leave him- after buying said video games!
I await the flack!

Mustbethemulledwine · 09/12/2023 09:32

PlayStation portal, bottle of rum and sauvage. He also has a stocking of small gifts.

Last years gift, but the most successful I've ever given (as in most gratefully recieved) was a year of subscription to 'cheese geek'. A box delivered every month of artisan cheeses. Hubby said it was like having Christmas every month.

My dh would absolutely love this. How much cheese though? He is concerned about his waistline and I don't want to derail him.

stringbean · 09/12/2023 10:41

This jumper from Finisterre - will do him a stocking with a few bits in it as well.

Pizzanightagain · 09/12/2023 11:00

I shouldn't read threads when I have a migraine, my vision is a bit blurred and I misread it as "husbands, where are you getting them?"
I thought it was about OLD.

Then I read furry lined crocs as fury lined cross.

I thought this is such a weird thread then I realised it's about Christmas gifts!

My DH wanted a lynx set from Poundland. We could afford a bit more but that's all he wants.

YouJustDoYou · 09/12/2023 11:32

Some snacks and treats from our home country, he's homesick bless him.

I have a referral code if you're interested

Can I ask which version of the PerfectDraft you bought, looking into one here.

Was it the older version or the newer ‘Pro’ version?

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 09/12/2023 13:10

I normally opt for golfing bits for Dh, previous hits have been Garmin golf watch, Orroro heated jacket/gillet, american golf gift card, hats/caps etc. But this year the course has been shut for months due to bad weather plus dh is having bother with his back. Other previous hits have been ugg slippers and a watch/glasses holder from etsy.

This year I've played it safe and kept it minimal:

C.P company sweatshirt
Chocolates
Good quality socks.

Theoldwrinkley · 09/12/2023 19:18

It's only once a month. About 5 cheeses, total about 1lb so enough for 'cheese and biscuits' for 2 for a few days. You can specify certain criteria...eg no blue cheese, only vegetarian, no goats (I'm not keen on goats cheese so he didn't get any). Not the cheapest gift ever, but without him I'd be a hopeless wreck, so I try and treat him. I think you can get 10% off if you sign up to their newsletter.

longtompot · 09/12/2023 20:49

A, hopefully, good pair of walking boots
A nice sounding bottle of single malt
Some more boxer shorts and pj bottoms
Some treats/snacks he loves (smoked oysters, liquorice plus some other bits)

AnneKipankitoo · 09/12/2023 20:52

Nothing.
He buys himself very nice whisky, very nice clothes, very nice wine.

Ladyofthelake53 · 09/12/2023 21:35

Brewery tour
Football team stadium tour
Aftershave and matching shower gel
Polo shirt
Book on foraging
Foraging bag that attaches to belt loops
Quilted barbour type jacket
Photos made into canvases
Yankee candle elecric diffuser

His birthday is just days before xmas so will give a couple for his birthday just need to decide which ones

Polgara2 · 10/12/2023 08:31

@yarnwitch
I have the velvetiser but only use hotel Chocolat sachets as a treat. My go to is actually Aldi's version of options and it is delicious. The velvetiser works it's magic whatever you use.

Fretfulagain · 10/12/2023 10:09

I've done cheese subscriptions in the past - fantastic great during lockdown. I used 'Pong' site and they were excellent - had some great cheese we'd never have tried and didn't ever get a duff one.

Rosiepeta · 10/12/2023 21:48

A lumi ice bath
A viking horn from odins horn
Pineapple mead
Onion gravy ketchup
Chili jam
A cowboy hat ( he collects hats)
Rum
Digital tape measure

Maybe a hoodie/ t shirt and sowm socks
