A bit stuck for DH so looking to see if I can copy someone else’s ideas!

OP posts:
Simonjt · 07/12/2023 19:28

I’ve bought him a t-shirt he wants but he thinks is too expensive for a t-shirt, a new light for his bike (he doesn’t know I’ve smashed the one he already has), sealskinz socks and gloves (his request), a nice bottle of wine, dark chocolate covered orange peel and something for me to wear.

FestiveFrederica · 07/12/2023 19:29

It'll be food and drink tbh or maybe concert tickets or something. If I buy material things for my dh he just sends everything back 😒. I'm sure he's right and he saves money / doesn't gather clutter etc, but still

Wolvesart · 07/12/2023 19:29

Books, maybe some concert tickets, a uniqlo ultra light down gilet

WontLetThoseRobotsDefeatMe · 07/12/2023 19:32

@Trinity69 Mine wants an impact driver as well! Saw one that was too good to be true... and it was, he wants one that is for half inch not quarter inch.

Blessedbethefruitz · 07/12/2023 19:39

Meta quest 2 (I badly messed up and missed tenacious d tickets he wanted 😬). Whiskey. Sink unblocker bendy stick grabber thing 😅 We're re instating humorous/useful household item this year. He got me a wok for our first Christmas together, and life has been too serious for too long! His 4yo has whiskey liqueurs for him, his 1yo currently has nothing lol. Kids gifts aren't a huge thing for us as they're so small.

UncleBunclesHouse · 07/12/2023 19:42

Last years gift, but the most successful I've ever given (as in most gratefully recieved) was a year of subscription to 'cheese geek'. A box delivered every month of artisan cheeses. Hubby said it was like having Christmas every month.

@Theoldwrinkley Googling this now!!

Parker231 · 07/12/2023 19:49

We’ve never bought each other Christmas presents but do a special holiday together in January each year.

PermanentTemporary · 07/12/2023 19:50

A mixture of stuff. I've bust the agreed budget.

Beatles Christmas jumper
Rory Stewart book (he loves that podcast)
The Rest is History book (he loves that podcast too)
Spanish lessons online for our holiday

Howmanysleepsnow · 07/12/2023 19:50

An ice bath
A coat
Bath Salts
A tub of the quality street he likes best cos there are only ever 4 in a tub and I’ve switched to m&s chocs anyway because the wrappers are just wrong!
magazine subscription
beevive
Hoodie
(not all from me, but my family insists on links to buy from and he likes surprises)

dutysuite · 07/12/2023 19:52

We don’t do really do big gifts if we want something we just buy it. We just buy some little bits to open in front of the children.

Greenstar22 · 07/12/2023 19:54

An ice bath, he's a runner. My idea of hell but he will love it!

Howmanysleepsnow · 07/12/2023 19:55

Snap!!! 😂

Newhere5 · 07/12/2023 19:55

Chocolate box from hotel chocolate 👌

TeenagersAngst · 07/12/2023 19:59

@Theoldwrinkley wow, my husband is cheese obsessed so that would be great. However, nearly £400 for the annual subscriptions is quite a lot!

ALonelyRoad · 07/12/2023 20:00

A nice watch.

mycatsanutter · 07/12/2023 20:07

I have got him one of those alexas with the screen , I could see him admiring my sons a few weeks ago , 2 things to do with his hobby and a wallet

persisted · 07/12/2023 20:09

Favourite aftershave, books that were requested. There will be fancy foodstuffs - some very specific crisps that need ordering 🙄 and bacon jam.

spottygymbag · 07/12/2023 20:09

Running shorts
A BBQ cook book for the new bbq
A voucher for some float sessions
A bbq apron
Undies (it's a long running joke)
A few treats for his stocking

MrsAvocet · 07/12/2023 20:16

I've already got my DH his present as it was vastly reduced in Black Friday sales. It's a bike. I finally persuaded him to stop being an idiot and nearly killing himself on his knackered old bike and get something he can actually enjoy riding.
I wanted him to try it for size before I bought it so it couldn't be a surprise unfortunately. He's really pleased with it though, and I am too. I hadn't realised, but althoigh he is nearly 60 this is the first brand new bike he has ever had in his life and he is like a kid over it!

BestIsWest · 07/12/2023 20:18

A guitar (another one).
Books (he has asked for James Blunt’s book even though he’s not a fan 🪭 f his music)
Mowgli cookbook
Fortnum’s biscuits
Fleecy top.

CrapBucket · 07/12/2023 20:22

Mines getting a divorce! But he is an arsehole and we’ve been separated for years so it’s not a surprise 😂

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 07/12/2023 20:26

Trinity69 · 07/12/2023 19:23

An impact driver. I know not what it is or does but it was his one request.

It's like a drill but does really tough jobs like bricks.
or at least that's what I think from seeing DH in action with his. His is a Makita
