Thread 8 - the one where it's time

Reastie · 03/11/2023 16:05

Thread title inspired by the 'it's time' Christmas trend as it's now time for Christmas now halloween is over!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

How to do click links -

I hope that makes sense…

Present tracking apps might be of interest eg Santas bag, gift list.

Here are some useful websites:

Amazon free delivery tool here

Aliexpress [[http://www.aliexpress.com www.aliexpress.com . Useful tips here from sorryiasked: Aliexpress is a Chinese site that sells everything! Assume all branded stuff is fake. I personally wouldn't buy baby toys or electronics from there as I don't have faith in the product safety. But for fan merchandise, dolls clothes, "lego", household items etc it's great. Check the size guide on clothes and lower your expectations!
Use a seller who has a 4.5 star rating or higher.
You can pay via PayPal and there is an excellent tracking system, but be aware express postage is usually 2-3 weeks and standard postage up to 2-3 months.

Bargainmax here

Camelcamelcamel is a brilliant site that tracks prices on amazon here

Lisa angel sale is popular when on, apparently arrive nicely packaged too here

Magazine subscription offers here and here

Netpricedirect has discount toys and party bits here although be aware reviews of the site is mixed

Toys for a pound here

Any additional websites or recommendations to add - just let me know Grin . I should add something about Ali express maybe as we’ve had that before…will get my brain thinking about what other sites/products have been popular.

Amazon UK Free Delivery Tool - Find add on items to reach £25

Amazon provides free super saver delivery for orders of £25 or over. Use our tool to find items to qualify for free shipping

Anyone making use of the boots 20% on Quidco make sure you check your advantage points offers. I had 400 Extra points when spending over £20

mumonthehill · 03/11/2023 16:15

Thanks!!

Dee1224 · 03/11/2023 16:30

Thanks @Reastie

Has anyone collected the Lakeland oven gloves? I suspect they will run out before I get there🙃

pasinphoebe · 03/11/2023 16:43

Bargain max had playmobil advent calendars for around £16 this morning if anyone needs one

Amazonmulu · 03/11/2023 16:44

Anyone looking for book gifts (a stocking wouldn’t be a stocking without a storybook in it, IMO, whatever the recipient’s age), I just got bargains in Oxfam’s online shop where they currently have 30% off when you buy 3 books. It excludes only antiquarian/collectible, but I just got a very collectible Folio Society book for DM which had been categorised in fiction. I also found the next in the series he likes for DS, as new, and a bonus Christmas romcom for me.

Villyxmas · 03/11/2023 17:12

Also, re Oxfam - there’s 10% off for new subscribers to their newsletter, and someone might want to investigate if that stacks with 30% off 3 books.

Notasockbandit · 03/11/2023 17:37

I am absolutely desperate to find these dummies/soothers. It's for a child with asd. I have contacted superdrug, they took them off sale before and then they re stocked them but this time they seem to be gone for good.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/11/2023 18:11

@pennygirl26 how old is the dc as there are lots of small bits in the sets and can be a risk?

otherwise we went with the theme the dc were into with a bigger set then relies bought add ones

playmobil site is worth signing up to as they do deals too

or secondhand is fine as they also do spare parts

I've just spotted Aldi will have some sylvanian bits on their special buys on 12th November - you can check out the leaflet online!

deeplybaffled · 03/11/2023 18:18

How do you find the 2 for £12 on Amazon, please? Nothing is showing up for me on the app😬

Mycatstares9 · 03/11/2023 18:20

Bit of a random one, can anyone recommend a brand of hoop earrings for someone with arthritis in their hands? My 80yo mum has asked for some for Christmas but she struggles with her dexterity. Thanks 😊

imnottoofussed · 03/11/2023 18:23

@deeplybaffled I just clicked the original link the poster gave then underneath the price it was a small hyperlink to the offer

does anyone else have trouble with the entertainer and Jacks birthday discount? I signed up a couple of days ago with November birthday but have still not had an email. I also can’t seem to find any trace of it on my account!
