Thread title inspired by the 'it's time' Christmas trend as it's now time for Christmas now halloween is over!

In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

Playmobil medieval castle...

RRP £79.99
Currently on Amazon for £57.99, cheapest I've seen it in the couple of months I've been watching.
I was planning on waiting until Black Friday but maybe I should bite...?

paintyhands · 04/11/2023 09:24

@poostinkywink I ordered some make your own crackers from The Works - £2 for 6 - I’m going to fill them myself to avoid plastic tat and make sure the contents are good!

Another request for help/ideas.... my grandparents are in their 80s, don't go out much, don't need anything. I have zero idea what to get them.

For our grandparents last year we made bramble gin/brandy and sloe gin as well as various chutneys. We gave them those with a nice candle and a framed photo of the kids. This year we’re going to a local glass blowing place and making baubles that the kids can pick the colours of and blow themselves. We’re also going to do some forced paperwhites and hyacinths in a bowl for them to have on their tables in Jan/Feb which a local garden centre sells.

I try to get things that can be used up rather than “stuff” for the sake of stuff if that makes sense?

I have had some great things from the Chuckling Cheese Company. But I can't see a deal at the moment, except a free Trunkie when you spend £20. But they do do them pretty regularly.
But I also love Snowdonia cheese so your recipient is very lucky!

Same! Their black bomber is to die for 🤤

Oooh any more online cracker deals? I am looking for some with charades or something to keep us entertained at the dinner table as opposed to landfill plastic tat which will get binned. I need them to be cheap 😭

I got some from Aldi a couple of years ago. I got cluedo but they had other games too, I think they were about 9.99 a box so it’s worth keeping an eye out for them

nicky2512 · 04/11/2023 09:37

@Smurfmurf thanks for the heads up on the QVC hotel Chocolat deal. I’ve got this before and got a few gifts sorted and a few left over for stockings!

Are you using 'CYBER' ?

Mytribeof3 · 04/11/2023 09:51

Thanks to the previous poster that mentioned Ulster Weavers - I think I have finally completed my parents gifts for this year 😊

Bargainous stocking filler ideas needed for (non-drinking) Uni student DS. Ideally under £5 each, but not useless tat. I already have stationery items, socks and a couple of foodie items (hot sauce etc)

You can get a free trial pair of On That Ass boxer shorts (suggested on a much earlier thread by someone). It's a monthly subscription for £10/pair so you need to remember to cancel. The Men's Originals have really fun patterns and come in a very cool-looking sealed bag.

Unique boxer shorts membership.

Get your first boxer shorts absolutely free during your trial period. No strings attached!

@dizzygirl1 The Dunelm teddy fleece blankets are gloriously soft, light and snuggly and have gone down really well as gifts for all generations in our family and friends. They have a range of colours and sizes...

https://www.dunelm.com/product/teddy-bear-throw-1000162540?blanketSize=130cm+x+170cm&colour=Teddy+Orange+Umber&defaultSkuId=30533626

I got the cream one for my daughter with a matching cushion and agree they are gorgeous - we fight over it!

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2023 10:26

redjoker · 04/11/2023 10:30

Blessedbethefruitz · 04/11/2023 10:31

I love a good blanket but the sherpa/Teddy ones always bobble in the wash after one use for me. Is there a trick? I don't tumble dry. My regular super soft fleece ones don't do this!

hoopdeloop · 04/11/2023 10:41

Please help you lovely lot. DS5 is after Beast Lab and it’s the only thing he wants but I cannot pay £90 for what is essentially a plastic shark figure. It’s reduced to £78 just now, but even still that’s a lot of his Christmas budget. Does anyone have any idea of how to get it cheaper or do we think with Black Friday coming that I might get it then?

Theraffarian · 04/11/2023 10:44

My degustabox advent calendar arrived this morning and it’s as big as other years 🎅

Ness1234 · 04/11/2023 10:56

Any advice where to get perfume the cheapest?

Itsfridaynightok · 04/11/2023 11:00

@hoopdeloop

Very have it for £78 sign up for a credit account for 20% off which would bring it to £62 then Quidco also have some cash back offers for very.

Favouritefruits · 04/11/2023 11:03

@Delahot I’d be really weary of using Snowdonia cheese, I revived a hamper for my birthday and the cheese was awful, the cheddar was literally crumbs that had been squished together to make a wedge??
