A snoopy watch. Just seen that Timex have a range. Shall I put one on my list?
(I did get a timex watch, but it was plain blue and snoopyless).

Spottyhousecoat · 01/11/2023 20:03

A big yellow teapot.....still waiting

MammaWeasel · 01/11/2023 21:56

I so wanted the petite post office, mr frosty, the Cadbury dispenser and a net of chocolate coins. Never got them.

Every Christmas I buy myself a net of chocolate coins and eat them whether I like them or not

Pinkkisugarmouse · 02/11/2023 13:01

Spirograph. I think you can still buy it. I’m putting it on my wish list. 😆

katseyes7 · 02/11/2023 13:06

I'm likely older than most of you (I'm 65) but back in the 60s l was desperate for a red velvet dress, white tights and black patent leather shoes with ankle straps.
I never got any of them. My mam wasn't feminine in the slightest and didn't understand why l wanted anything like that. I got sensible shoes!
Which l understand, if money was tight, which it likely was, but l saw a little red velvet dress the other day in a shop, and it reminded me.

A dolls house with lights in. My cousin had one made by my grandad and I never understood why he didn't make me one too- did he love her more?

Maybe after he made it he thought, 'Never again!, what was I thinking!'

Helendegenerate · 02/11/2023 13:09

Wow I just noticed this thread. Will read through it all by tonight then add my own things. Many of the mentioned items also apply to me too. 🎅

katseyes7 · 02/11/2023 13:18

Sudename I got one, l'm pretty sure it was from a catalogue, but the paper didn't stay straight (more than likely because l didn't know you had to use the little clip to keep it in place) so it went back and was never replaced.
I eventually got a real (electric) one when l was in my early 30s and taking a typing qualification for my job. Loved it so much! And l still love typing and writing.

katseyes7 · 02/11/2023 13:22

Catswillbecats My dad was a carpenter, and one Christmas l got a wonderful dolls house (it was actually a bungalow) which he had made.
It had tile paper on the roof, brick paper on the walls, and actual lights which were operated by what seemed like a huge square battery on a wire.
I remember him making a fort and a garage for other people too (I imagine they knew how good he was, and had asked him to make them for presents).

Mr Frosty

LadeOde · 02/11/2023 13:37

I wanted:

Chatty Cathy
A doll's house
A space hopper/Hoppity hop

Never got either, i did get some fantastic robots though which were just AMAZING!

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 02/11/2023 13:45

Part of me still wants a Mr Frosty even though I know how rubbish they are.

I also really wanted an electric train but my dad seemed to think that because I was a girl it was a passing fancy. Eventually my mum did get her old one from her mum's attic but by then I was older and less interested. It was still very cool though.

Nonplusultra · 02/11/2023 13:50

Mr Frosty - which dh bought me for Christmas when my dc were toddlers. Of course my dc we’re enchanted and we perpetuated the generational trauma everytime they wanted slushies and I refused to take the lying little bastard out of his box. Worst toy ever.

Beakerbrain · 02/11/2023 13:54

A Holly Hobbie bake oven

TheChosenTwo · 01/11/2023 08:30

A Mr Frosty, such a hugely coveted toy by many. I bought one for my dc and the handle snapped off immediately - my mum was right not to get me one!

Snap!

FinallyPregnant23 · 02/11/2023 19:01

A Cadbury dispenser for me too! I can't believe there's so many of us wanted one but didn't get one. I wish they still did them, I'd definitely buy one even now.
Also, a dog. Had to get my own when I grew up and moved out! I'm dog mad now 😁

Treat yourself to the snoopy watch, OP!

Clariee45 · 02/11/2023 19:04

Mr Frosty 🤣 must of been the best marketed toy ever

Clariee45 · 02/11/2023 19:04

P.s and the Cadbury dispenser

EverythingYouDoIsaBalloon · 02/11/2023 19:25

I hankered for a Sindy. Sindy was on my Christmas list several years running and I did eventually get her, but was almost too old for dolls by then. I loved her anyway. 😄

CoolShoeshine · 02/11/2023 19:53

I think you’re all the same age as me!

Yes to the Cadbury dispenser but I can remember thinking that I would eat the chocolates pretty quickly and I felt a bit stressed about where I would get refills from.
Yes to Mr Frosty, Tree House and Sindy House. Also a Micky Mouse holding a phone receiver and some pedal pushers.
I did eventually get a Sindy House - my parents got a second hand bargain when I was 11!!!

LooksABitElvish · 02/11/2023 20:22

Add my name to the list of cadburys chocolate dispenser coveters.

For some reason, I did get a box of refills at Christmas and birthdays for years. Way to rub it in guys 😩😁

Piemam · 02/11/2023 21:03

@FeltCarrot buy it! I love Snoopy, always have done, probably as my first ever watch was similar to the one you posted. It required daily winding to work. If I were so inclined, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from the new range, 40 ish years old or 50 ish years old- whatever. It'll make you smile when you catch sight of it on your wrist.

whataretherulesss · 01/11/2023 19:30

Petite post office

I had one of these. DH thinks it is the saddest thing ever that it was one of my favourite toys. I had to Google a photo to prove it was a real toy as he didn't believe that it was something that would sell.

LovedFedAndNoonesDead · 03/11/2023 11:52

I also wanted the Cadbury chocolate dispenser, a post office and an Al a Carte kitchen
but never got them.

One present I did get was a Nookie the Bear toy; then my cousins came over the following day and one of them broke my coveted toy. As upset as I was it was never replaced and I was told I should have been more careful with it instead of breaking it!!

Helendegenerate · 03/11/2023 13:06

The Cadbury chocolate machine for me. My younger brother got one and I wasn't allowed anywhere near it 😡

My older sister had a Cinderella clock and I was so envious! As for me I. wanted a patterned knitting bag 😱😁😁😁 and eventually I got one.😘
