A snoopy watch. Just seen that Timex have a range. Shall I put one on my list?
(I did get a timex watch, but it was plain blue and snoopyless).

A typewriter - yes I'm that old!

Every birthday I asked for one - "Oh dear, maybe Santa will bring it for Christmas"
Every Christmas - "Oh dear maybe you'll get one for your birthday"

This went on year after year and I finally got one when I was 16 but only because I was doing O Grade Secretarial studies and I would need it to practise.

OMFG - why couldn't the old cow just have said "No, you can get one when you're older" instead of breaking my heart twice a year for about 8 years.

Mr Frosty here too - and some of those fake high heels that you could clip
Clip about in..... I used to wear my mums 1980s Stilettos instead Grin

I always wanted a soda stream as my best friend had one. On my wedding day her parents gave me one as they knew how much i wanted it!!! The one thing i never had was a new bike, always second hand but i would have loved a shiny new one.

A pony. I got mine at 30.

I too wanted a horse. I was pony obsessed.

I could afford one now, but I’m too fat and unfit to ride, so it will always be an unfulfilled dream!

Kangaroo1 · 01/11/2023 13:25

A dolls pram or buggy with swivel wheels. Even now I love taking my DD out in her pram and turning corners easily 😂

sthonore · 01/11/2023 14:33

Mr Frosty - too messy
Candle making set - also too messy and fire hazard!
Stretch Armstrong - for boys apparently
Dream phone - for silly girls!

Movingnextweek · 01/11/2023 14:57

Ballet lessons, but my mother couldn’t afford it..

A pony.

Finally got my wish at the age of 48.

Same here but I was 43 when I got one.

Carsarelife · 01/11/2023 15:02

I got the snoopy watch timed and red and the arms were the hands I still have it

I always wanted a woodwork kit. It came in a set with a hammer, chisel, saw and other bits and bobs. I was quite interested in things like that as a child but never got it.. I suspect because it was a 'boy' thing.

I wanted the wood work kits too, I hated that people bought me girly things although I like some girly things I also wanted the toys my brother had. I really wanted a scalextric set, asked every year and eventually I got a fake/cheap racing track, I remember how disappointed I was as it was pretty rubbish compared to the real thing. My brother had cool things like ghost busters toys and bogglins and people used to gift me Barbies which I hated.

Sudename · 01/11/2023 17:08

I was mad for a child's typewriter as I used to love to write short stories. Never did get one ☹️

Pashazade · 01/11/2023 17:09

I'd forgotten about the A La carte kitchen and the advert! I always wanted my little ponies but I think I was probably too old. Oh and a cadburys dispenser......

Shemakeslists · 01/11/2023 17:41

A white rabbit (a real one). Never got one. Oh, how I yearned for a rabbit. The nearest I got was a squirrel charm for my bracelet! I was gutted as Dad had said - you might get your rabbit tomorrow (Christmas Day). He genuinely thought the squirrel was a rabbit - but even if it had been, you can’t really compare it can you? Bless him. He did his best.

Twentymorequestions · 01/11/2023 17:52

A pony was always on top of my Christmas wish list.
My mum explained that they couldn’t afford to keep one.
We then went into Kendals in Manchester just before Christmas one year when I was around 8. My Christmas list that year read something like…
‘I want a real pony please, but if I can’t have a real one, the rocking horse from Kendals will do instead’
I think at the time, a real pony would have actually cost less than the rocking horse 😂.
I ended up with a Sindy doll and horse.

RudolphTheRedNosedSpaniel · 01/11/2023 17:56

A puppy

finally got one aged 43! 🐾

Twilight7777 · 01/11/2023 18:01

I wanted a cat, I asked for one every year eventually got one when I was 14 lol. I think people on this thread must be a similar age to me cos mr frosty and the dairy milk machine were classics when I was (a lot!) younger.

A Baby Alive doll - so creepy

Thereisnoname · 01/11/2023 19:53

Go for the Snoppy watch.
I wanted a Micky mouse one with the arms as hands. Fossil have brought out a range and I'm so tempted problem is I just don't know which one I want now as they've got Donald, Pluto and Goofy too.

verabarbleen · 01/11/2023 19:54

One of those90s fisher price big plastic toy kitchens . They have an old battered one in the garden of my daughter's nursery and I still get a bit jealous when I look at it 😂

verabarbleen · 01/11/2023 19:55

I think it was little tykes actually ! Grrrr I have a real kitchen now and it's just not the same 😂

verabarbleen · 01/11/2023 19:56

@whataretherulesss I had that post office. I used to make my mum ask for money and then say "no sorry no money for you" 😂
