A snoopy watch. Just seen that Timex have a range. Shall I put one on my list?
(I did get a timex watch, but it was plain blue and snoopyless).

A Tamagotchi!! Or a Furby. I was so desperate for those 😂 I did get a Nintendo DS one year and I was the absolute envy of all of my friends, so I know how the tamagotchi power must have felt too 😂

Cluelessbutmeanswell · 01/11/2023 08:52

I had a snoopy watch for my 9th birthday, a red one similar to one posted.
I wanted a Cindy doll and horse and was lucky enough to get one.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 01/11/2023 08:54

A dog.

I had to wait until I was long grown up to get one.

elizabethdraper · 01/11/2023 08:54

Mr Frosty !!

OMGitsnotgood · 01/11/2023 08:58

A big brother. Not something my parents could easily fix!

Catswillbecats · 01/11/2023 09:07

A dolls house with lights in. My cousin had one made by my grandad and I never understood why he didn't make me one too- did he love her more?

Notquitegrownup2 · 01/11/2023 09:19

One of those pens with different coloured inks and slidy down tabs to change the colour coming out.

I did have the Cadbury chocolate dispenser however and loved it.

A Mr Frosty, such a hugely coveted toy by many. I bought one for my dc and the handle snapped off immediately - my mum was right not to get me one!

Yes!! The idea of a toy that produced tasty food was almost unbelievable.
Also one of those tree houses that opened up to become a little dolls' house. Fisher Price?

Bossyboo · 01/11/2023 09:22

Mr Frosty!!

YorkieTheRabbit · 01/11/2023 09:23

I really wanted a talking Orinoco Womble. Also a Cindy horse and a Cadbury dispenser.

Squirrelsnut · 01/11/2023 09:24

This.

RabbitsRock · 01/11/2023 09:26

A Paddington Bear. My best friend had one & I was so envious! I do own one now on my late 50s!

RabbitsRock · 01/11/2023 09:26

In!!

LickChit · 01/11/2023 09:26

I wanted a Barbie house with all the Barbie furniture.

My mum got us a Cindy house (to share with my sister…not fair!) and made us furniture out of things like matchboxes and loo rolls. She put loads of effort in to it, but it wasn’t the plastic pink dream house I longed for.

Ungrateful little brat I was! Grin.

CamdenLurker · 01/11/2023 09:36

Mr Frosty here too! never got one as my Mum always claimed it was a waste of money, was pretty miffed when my youngest sister got one though!

Seawaver · 01/11/2023 09:36

Squirrelsnut · 01/11/2023 09:24

This.

I had that family treehouse and absolutely loved it! I think I saw some on eBay a few years ago.

Seawaver · 01/11/2023 09:38

I would have liked a Swatch watch and when I finally got one it had a paisley-design face- I absolutely hated it.

Also, a Mr Frosty, Care Bear, and a Cabbage Patch Kid.

Sharontheodopolodous · 01/11/2023 09:39

Anything my little pony-the castle,stable,cat dragon-anything (I had 4 ponies-one was a fake)
I finally bought one (I lost mine in my childhood when my 'aunt' threw everything I owned in a skip) and then bought another
I now own over 50-all the ones I didn't get as a child-plus castles,cats,dragons,stables-the lot

A sister-I got 3 brothers but we have friends who's child is an only child
She's desperate for a sibling (but that's not going to happen)
We've joined forces and are sisters-weve argeed to be 'sisters 4eva' (she drew me a picture saying this-its framed in my hallway)

She's 11 and I'm 45 but it works for us!

AceOfCups · 01/11/2023 09:44

I desperately wanted a Cabbage Patch doll. I asked for my birthday and didn't get one, so I asked for Christmas and still didn't get one.

Much later my mother divulged that she found them ugly and couldn't bear the thought of having one in the house and having to look at it all the time. Fair point, really. They were ugly.

TheOwlChronicles · 01/11/2023 09:55

A few things over the years I suppose

I quite liked the look of mr frosty but wasn't desperate for one. I did want a brand new Baby April with the swing and I'd have liked Carrie and Christopher dolls.

I was also taken with the Strawberry Shortcake range of dolls - each one smelt differently.

caringcarer · 01/11/2023 09:59

I wanted a pogo stick. My friend had one but after she fell off and broke her collar bone I don't think my parents were ever going to let me have one.

theheadband · 01/11/2023 10:02

Braces and crutches 😂

housethatbuiltme · 01/11/2023 10:05

Not much, my mam always got me the best and coolest things I didn't even know existed. I had a mr frosty and all that must have jazz thoughout childhood.

The only things I can think that I wanted and never got was a rocking horse.

I would have liked a proper wooden wendy house or treehouse (I loved the plastic one we had but tiny garden and no tree) and a micky mouse landline phone in my bedroom (no one ever got that though, my parents got me a cellnet phone instead so I did get a phone though). Its not like I missed out I just had alternatives.

Every year I asked for a cat and a sibling. Pets are hard work though and my mam already had too much to deal with, she also suffered from infertility (which I didn't understand that young).

ny20005 · 01/11/2023 10:08

I asked for a sister a few times too & mr frosty - got neither 😂

Dorriethelittlewitch · 01/11/2023 10:08

Castle Greyskull. My mum said it wasn't suitable for girls. Ditto transformers.

I did however have a massive Barbie house, stables and horses plus My Little Pony Castle, stables and loads of horses/unicorns and seahorses. Suspect I would have also been allowed Mr Frostie.
