None, since it's October and the supermarkets remain open until Christmas Eve.
Yes I realise what topic this is thanks.

TheOwlChronicles · 20/10/2023 18:38

@ProvisionsOnTheDock then why post so miserably? What a waster of your time.

I've not bought anything either. I'm impressed that you're so organised OP!

Inextremis · 20/10/2023 18:42

2 packs of Paxo stuffing
A centre-cut fillet joint for beef Wellington (freezer)
1.2kg ham (freezer)
Turkey breasts (freezer)
12 bottles of wine (though they may not last until Christmas!)
A bottle of Two Stacks Irish cream liqueur

I bought Quality Street but unfortunately opened them, they weren't as nice as before, had way too many toffee and fudge and are smaller yet again 50g less in Quality Street and Celebrations, 100g less for roses, for the same price as last year. The new paper wrappers are a pain as some of the chocolates had come out. Only good thing is I won't buy anymore as they're so shite, I usually stock up enough to feed a small army.

Glitterberry J20s

TheOwlChronicles · 20/10/2023 18:46

@avocadotofu I'm pretty organised, yes! Plus it stops me spending £££ all in one go so I can fool myself that I'm not spending that much 😀

I’m deliberately not buying anything this year as we have loads of lovely treats from a trip to France that I have squirrelled away. I’ve been so disappointed by the diminishing taste and quality of Christmas sweets that I thought it would be much nicer to put together a hamper of things we all really enjoy.

My family have guzzled their way through the holiday stash … or so they think…so it will be a nice surprise unless, true to form, I eat all the Christmas treats before Christmas

I have bought a gingerbread house from ikea though. I’m not sure whether that counts as food, craft or entertainment

I bought my sprouts today, do you think they'll still be OK in over 2 months time

DuploTrain · 20/10/2023 18:49

I bought some lovely Lebukuchen from Lidl the other week and promptly ate them all..

I have bought all my dried fruit to make my Christmas cake though (still intact).

CoffeeChocolateWine · 20/10/2023 18:50

Gravy browning as this is something I'm bound to forget nearer the time 😆

I've also bought hot chocolate bombs for the Christmas Eve box. And I have two bottles of Baileys left from last year.

Lots of other stuff on order but not bought yet 😊

Guiltyfeethavegotnorhythm0 · 20/10/2023 18:51

Maybe freeze them?

CurlewKate · 20/10/2023 18:54

I've already bought several presents-and given them because I couldn't wait. I dread to think what would happen if I bought all that food......

Sparehair · 20/10/2023 18:54

Trying to really support local businesses this year- Ordered turkey, charcuterie and cheese for delivery on 23rd, locally made chocolates and macarons for same day. Done my Waitrose order just to hold the delivery slot. Got 6 bottles of Waitrose champagne in the garage- their NV for 21 quid is lovely ( I prefer it to many of the brands at twice the price) but as a result they’re always out of stock in the run up to Christmas, esp for delivery.

also given DM her instructions- ham and Christmas cake.

RJnomore1 · 20/10/2023 18:56

I’ve actually bought a pack of festive friends so far but I’ve put in a Morrisons and a marks order and filled my case in my virgin wine account.

oh and I’ve got s’mores and dipping marshmallow kits hidden.

APurpleSquirrel · 20/10/2023 18:58

I've bought a tub of Cadbury Heroes, but that's all. Need to get past Halloween first.

you’ll need to get them boiling in the next week or so surely? They need to be nice and soft by Christmas Day 🤢

WhatWouldHopperDo · 20/10/2023 19:03

I haven’t got anything yet but this thread has made me add some things to my shopping list for tomorrow.

Adult DD and I did look at advent calendars last week but we couldn’t see one we really fancied so held off.

Myneedycat · 20/10/2023 19:03

I’m trying not to think about it. So none.

We did exactly the same with the lebukuchen 😂

slithytoveisascientist · 20/10/2023 19:05

None. I tried to buy wine but the order was cancelled. Tbh I'd eat most stuff if I bought it now I think 😅 chocolate and biscuits definitely

OOh, i'm off to France soon. What Christmas goodies do you recommend?? Thanks!
All I've done so far is soak my fruit for the Christmas cake so far.....
