Most came down last night. The tree finally went today. I'm probably miserable but I can't bear going back to work and them still being up.

Started last night and just finished. Still have all the beds to change though and the bags of presents everywhere to sort through.

DuchessOfDisco · 27/12/2022 16:51

Took ours down today. Well Al except the wreath on the front door as it‘s a real one so that can stay for a week or so. The house is so clear and tidy now

Runmybathforme · 27/12/2022 16:51

Always the day after boxing day, can't wait to get them down.

TakingControl2023 · 27/12/2022 16:52

All the decs are down, but the tree is still up Smile will probably take that down on NYE. I do like to go into the NY with everything fresh/clean/decluttered.

Topseyt123 · 27/12/2022 16:52

Ours didn't really go up. We just used our little fibre-optic Christmas tree and that was perfect.

wonderingwhatsnext · 27/12/2022 16:54

I'm interested. If you've taken them down now, did you pur them up early? Mine will stay until twelfth night but it only went up on the 18th.

Squirrellane · 27/12/2022 17:03

Ours came down last night, I love the clearing out of the Christmas. They'd been up for three weeks by then.

NotAGrinchII · 27/12/2022 17:10

They've been up since the 10th Dec. I normally do them later but my friend helped and that was the only date we were both free. I just have an advent calendar to finish eating

Ooo me too. Well, I'll take them down on New Year's Day. But I've just decluttered and cleaned my kitchen in readiness for the new years declutter, and DH went to the tip today and it was liberating Grin

Abracadabra12345 · 27/12/2022 17:20

Wow

You must hate Christmas!

unclebuck · 27/12/2022 17:25

Why?

Hadtochangeforthisone · 27/12/2022 17:26

Ours went up on the 20th. Will come down 12th night. Always taught by parents GPS and GGPs that it was bad luck to take down or keep up before 6th Jan. (The day of the Kings bringing gifts if you subscribe to that) .. we are looking forward to the 6th this year as it's a big day for our fabulous Ukrainian guest (who really has become part of our family and absolutely LOVED her first English Christmas) so seems right to embrace her tradition and keeps it alive longer..

NotAGrinchII · 27/12/2022 17:33

I don't hate Christmas. I just don't have an ongoing love for decorations whilst I'm back to work. Plus my birthday is just after new year so good to get rid before then too

Remagirl · 27/12/2022 17:43

We always take ours down around the 3rd or 4th.

flummingbird · 27/12/2022 17:45

I've done mine today, but I'm moving house on 12th Jan so wanted to get a start on sorting stuff out...

StrawberryWater · 27/12/2022 17:45

I used to wait until 12th night but now I take them down on the 2nd of Jan. It looks kind of sad after the 2nd.

Detectorists · 27/12/2022 17:48

Ours came down today. Bedding will be done tomorrow. We're moving on the 9th so want to get started!

Pinkandpurplehairedlady · 27/12/2022 17:50

I took mine down today. We’re going away for New Years tomorrow and I didn’t want to have to deal with it when we get back.

ChecoPerez · 27/12/2022 18:02

Last year was Boxing Day but that was only because I was due to go into labour any day at that point so we wanted it down.

Took it down on Christmas night this year as the cat took a clean run and jump into the tree and pulled it down as there were now no presents under the tree to spook her (she spooks at her own shadow). She's never done that before! We normally keep it up until the 30th each year though.

Did tell DH that it was a bit too early this year lol

Flidina · 27/12/2022 18:03

Ours came down today, always take them down before New Year and have a good clean, feels great to get rid of all the clutter.

TheChosenTwo · 27/12/2022 18:05

Yep, all down and away. I love Christmas but for me Christmas has finished and we are looking forward to going on holiday tomorrow for new year - and I’m not someone whose has their decs up since august, they’ve been up for 2 weeks and 2 days! Long enough for me. And since I’m the one who takes them down they come down when I want them to come down. Which was today! Start the year afresh.

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 27/12/2022 18:05

Ours came down today. Busy the rest or the week and I hate them up for new year. It is so nice to have the house normal, clean and tidy and now just find places for the new toys to go. So much fresher everywhere.

readingismycardio · 27/12/2022 18:08

All the decs are down, tree going down tomorrow. Can't wait! I've enjoyed it a lot, but I need a fresh, clean start and for this year to be over with.

OldTinHat · 27/12/2022 18:14

They never went up in the first place!!

I put my Christmas cards in the recycling bin yesterday if that counts?!

Greensleevevssnotnose · 27/12/2022 18:25

I will take mine down before partner goes back to work. He has a new job starting Jan 3rd so be nice not to have to worry
