Curious to see how many presents people have under their tree.
I have two dcs and never think it looks enough, I just love to see their little faces light up in the morning.

This isn't a judgy thread I'm just genuinely curious.
Here's mine ours its just presents for 2 dc. Me and dp exchanged today.

Mine involves an annoying cat

Do you realise a name is clearly visible on the present tag in that photo? Might be worth asking MNHQ to delete that photo if you don't want it up.

Jennybeans401 · 24/12/2022 23:52

I'm too knackered to take a pic but there's a few gifts for each dc. Tried to make it look more with big bows! I'm finding it particularly exhausting this year as it's our first Christmas without dh and its emotional.

Remembered to eat half the mince pie and drink the sherry. I'm now like a zombie on the bed!

Vanillapot · 24/12/2022 23:52

CanStopWillStop · 24/12/2022 23:47

Of course they can.

And the people who have also worked hard this year, yet have been crippled by the cost of living, rising inflation and other economic challenges, can share their distaste on an anon site!

That's the beauty of the internet :)

I will revert to my original question: Why did you click on the thread having seen the title?
This is not the thread for you clearly.

LittleBrownRug · 24/12/2022 23:50

I’m so grateful I don’t have your head. Bless you ☹️

😂 ditto.. I wouldn’t function! I’m getting on and living life; I am blessed 😇

FeelingwearyFeeelingsmall · 24/12/2022 23:54

That's if for us. us. 8 adults from 25-70. 6 gifts which will probably not be opened until Boxing Day. We will have the the best time with food, drinking, singing and games. We won't have time for presents or tv.

There have been some presents for under twenties and a couple of over nineties distributed this week but as a group we have agreed that from now on our consumerism will be strictly limited to Christmas food, drink and special nights out.

Lovejoylife · 24/12/2022 23:54

You should all be very jealous of my tree. A lot of time and effort went into that 😂 Also three of them gifts are for the dog. Priorities.

I can't put any under the tree because the uncivilised savage of my pack - a miniature chihuahua - would pee on them. ~Sigh~ but I love the thread and the people who clicked just to say how awful and braggy the thread is can go and suck the joy out of someone else's day. BTW, @Namechangepleas I love, love, love your curtains!

iceyniceyspicey · 24/12/2022 23:55

@GingerFoxInAT0phat my nan used to get us a harmonica or whistle and some bangers!
oh I forgot nuts! I don't have any in the house!

it's a good job you didn't chuck it :-O

stocking are always my favourite part, I can remember a few big presents but stocking I remember like it was yesterday, every bit!

So the people who have worked hard this year and managed to saved for Christmas can’t share their trees and present set-ups on a anon site ?

Course they can. And other people can say what they think of doing that. Isn't free speech great?

NotToBeOrToBe · 24/12/2022 23:57

We don't even have a tree.

Notcontent · 24/12/2022 23:57

I just can’t help myself so had to look.

But do feel a bit bad now. It’s just me and teen DD and our pile is pretty small. I could have spent more but didn’t want to buy stuff just for the sake of buying. But this kind of comparison is not really helpful for anyone as we are all human and also for many people not buying a huge amount is not actually a choice.

Here they are.

Oooh this wrapping paper is lovely!

MargotChateau · 24/12/2022 23:57

@LittleBrownRug don’t feel sorry for me and DP thanks. There is nothing under our tree, and we don’t care at all. We have each other and finally a place of our own, and that’s more than enough for us, neither of us being in the slightest bit materialistic.

However I love having a nosy at other people’s set up, and have enjoyed the thread and peeking into other people’s homes so 🤷🏻‍♀️

BloodAndFire · 24/12/2022 23:58

Lockheart · 24/12/2022 23:46

A photo with presents strewn across half the room because they won't physically fit around the tree... "Oh I never think it's enough". This is goady braggy bollocks.

Of course it is.

Ravageur · 24/12/2022 23:58

That's it for us this year. Littlies have cash-mum died in September so no anchor for us all. Everything and everyone in a tailspin. But we are managing and coping.

Pascha · 24/12/2022 23:59

Ah, he's not little now, @Lockheart he probably posts more incriminating stuff on social media himself now. Thanks for spotting it though.

This is not the thread for you clearly.

That's interesting; why would you assume that I'm not enjoying this thread? I clicked the thread as I'm nosy and love seeing other people's trees.

However...

There will be many others who think it's distasteful for very valid reasons, and they have a right to express their opinion too as it's an open forum. I'll say it again, that's the beauty of the internet.

LittleBrownRug · 24/12/2022 23:38

This thread has made me sad for people that can afford nothing like these photos are showing.
Shall we agree to stop this?

No.

You’re not thread prefect. 😂

Cakeandcoffee93 · 25/12/2022 00:01

So excited for my bf to get a ps5- last few years have sucked for us and he’s been so supportive- can’t wait to see his face. Also our dd3- she’s at the best age for xmas! Got her a dolly and cot- and a lot of bits and bobs.
Im hosting tomorrow so we’ve just been peeling potatoes whilst she sleeps. It will be bittersweet as we are still grieving for losing my lovely stepdad- but also lovely to see my dd3 little face light up, I know he will be watching and loving it. 🥹

Also merry Christmas to all you mums who work so hard and make it happen. You bring the magic. Was looking at my Christmas pictures from being little and it makes me so excited !

heidipi · 25/12/2022 00:02

@GingerFoxInAT0phat our stockings are actual socks I knitted years ago that turned out to be too big for any human (my tension was a bit off) but are definitely smaller than pillow cases. Would post a pic but it’s too outing 🤣. I don’t knit anymore.

VeganStar · 25/12/2022 00:03

My DD is 20. We both know we can’t buy each other a lot but that it’s about relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. It’s only the two of us. Presents are just a bonus.
it doesn’t bother us that others have loads. Good for them if they can afford it.

Rowthe · 25/12/2022 00:04

Burm · 24/12/2022 23:22

These are just for our two teens - DH’s presents haven’t arrived yet thanks to Evri’s incompetence and he’s gotten me vouchers.

These are wrapped very nicely!

CaptainBarbosa · 25/12/2022 00:06

DS has a bike, that I got second hand for £40, but it's in perfect condition as the previous child never rode it! A beautiful red shiny BMX bike. The tyres have no wear on them! 5 parcels to open (2 Lego sets, a safety dart board, a remote control monster truck, a led light up toy thing where you make pictures with the LED lights) plus a stocking of chocolate, socks, toothbrush, torch and other little things.

I'm a loan parent , but I'm enjoying the thread, I like being nosy 😂 some lovely trees!!

I'm fully aware many people have more disposable income than me, I'm not bothered 🤷🏻‍♀️ that's life.

DS will thoroughly enjoy the bike, and the toys. He will be fine ☺️
