Curious to see how many presents people have under their tree.
I have two dcs and never think it looks enough, I just love to see their little faces light up in the morning.

This isn't a judgy thread I'm just genuinely curious.
Here's mine ours its just presents for 2 dc. Me and dp exchanged today.

We no longer do presents in my family. We’re all strapped for cash and we’re all adults, so we save our money for things we need throughout the year. Am enjoying seeing everyone else’s presents and trees, so no need for anyone to feel sad for me.

I have one present, from a friend, which is in the gift bag. The others are “stunt” presents - wrapped empty boxes which I wrapped a few years ago so that the tree looks more festive.

Merry Christmas everyone 🎅🏼

That's a nice tree!

Binxybo · 25/12/2022 15:50

Mainly for dd, and some bits and pieces for the pets. DH and I stopped doing presents years ago.

@Sidking - what a lovely room, really lends itself to looking festive. And I’m definitely coveting your gorgeous dog.

Furries · 25/12/2022 16:07

@Rowthe - thanks. I don’t put up many other decorations, just garland and stockings on the fireplace, but I really love my tree. Best thing I did was to treat myself to a pre-lit one - no more fighting with stupid lights!

Parkingmoan1 · 25/12/2022 16:11

This was ours. Presents for me, my three kids, their three siblings and my mum.

Storage drawers were removed to make space for the overflow as i underestimated how much was bought due to starting in September. I won't lie I'm really looking forward to being rid of half of them tomorrow when the others come to spend the day and take theirs back home!

The big one at the back is DD's main present, she's been begging of a barbie camper van for months. Other than that, alot of the stuff is second hand (in brand new cond, some even with tags on - cheers vinted)

Merry Christmas everybody P.S I have since straightened out the lights 😬

We had about 15 I think between the 4 of us. I only had 1, but that's because I couldn't think of anything I wanted.

Here ours.

An empty wine bag seems a bit mean.

Nope! Not at all even a vague description of me, lovely attempt though! As I’ve said, these threads if they cause just one person misery are not worth it. If you can’t just take pleasure from your families enjoyment then you’re doing Christmas wrong.

meowzeer · 25/12/2022 22:24

One spoilt girl. Wouldn't have it any other way. Proud as a single parent to have got everything she wanted and more. I work hard and it's nice to enjoy them happy. Merry Christmas everyone.

I don't understand why some people are getting upset about how many presents others have. Some people literally wrap everything like socks, felt tips, a new toothbrush others just wrap things like an x box or an apple watch so obviously the size of the piles of presents will be different

In the nicest possible way, step away from this thread. It’s really not worth the angst.

I hope you’ve had as good a day as possible.

Furries · 26/12/2022 01:00

@meowzeer - aww, bet her face was way more joyful than the emoji 💕.

I am in my fifties now, but always remember what my single mum did to make things special.

You really need to get a grip. You feel how you feel and that’s fine but why do you need to keep on going back and forth with people? All I keep saying is ‘oh this thread is horrible because what about other people’ yet I haven’t actually seen one person comment saying this thread has made them feel horrible…

If you’re so upset for others why don’t you just leave the thread, I don’t understand

And you get that information from their tree and their house decor? Why is it that the middle classes are so hard of thinking, and clearly always make judgements on ‘appearances’. I would hate to be from a class where there are a list of rules on how you decorate your home, what paper you must wrap your presents in, always to use a real tree as opposed to a fake one. Because otherwise you are a social pariah, to be ignored and sniggered at. I’d much rather live my life following my own choices, and not have to adhere to class rules. It must be exhausting.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 26/12/2022 11:33

@Sidking - what a lovely room. I'm in love with your brick fireplace and wood burner. We have a brick inglenook with a black stove and it's my favourite thing in the house, albeit the style is completely different.

Gorgeous dog, too!

A shame that a nice thread like this has descended into benefit-bashing.

It hasn't really, it's just being trolled so best to ignore it.

@Weepachu , do you have the winning lottery numbers to go with all those assumptions and prejudice?

What a lovely thread (in the main) I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at the way everyone does Christmas differently and imagining the pure joy of the kids going in to see their gifts. Much more enjoyable than the 57 photos posted on Facebook of each present being opened and then styled for the stash photo shoot at the end!

Who was it mentioned sacks? We do sacks here so no under the tree shots for us. Makes bring them all downstairs easier and hide them in another room until we’re sure the kids are asleep.

Love seeing the pets getting involved and especially love the wire beloved tree topper on the fat tree ❤️
