Curious to see how many presents people have under their tree.
I have two dcs and never think it looks enough, I just love to see their little faces light up in the morning.

This isn't a judgy thread I'm just genuinely curious.
Here's mine ours its just presents for 2 dc. Me and dp exchanged today.

I agree, I like these posts because I’m nosy!

Also, my theory about “working class” families exchanging loads of presents compared to more restraint shown by those who would be typically middle class is borne out by the photos shared on this thread in terms of home decor, real vs. fake tree, elegance of wrapping paper, language used (“hun”), etc. So it would seem that those who can probably least afford a stash of presents actually have the most. Possibly on credit. Merry Christmas! 🎄

Wow, that's all I have to say really 🧐

FWIW, I have a real tree because I love plants. Its pot grown and will be re-potted to come back indoors next year. It's our first Christmas in our forever home so I'm hoping it will become a tradition, as well as cutting down on waste.

As for gifts, DH is 18 and a penniless student so his pile is noticeably smaller than in previous years. There's a number of supermarket gift cards and cash included which looks like nothing. We definitely "look" middle class this year, despite being anything but.

I love your tree it’s so twinkly and beautiful. I also love your dog 🐶

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 25/12/2022 07:48

I'm choking on my Christmas morning coffee reading some of these replies, some proper Grinches 😑

Merry Christmas all 🎄❤️

Lovejoylife · 24/12/2022 23:54

You should all be very jealous of my tree. A lot of time and effort went into that 😂 Also three of them gifts are for the dog. Priorities.

Love the tree 🤣🤣🤣. Merry Christmas 🎅

Bpdqueen · 25/12/2022 07:55

Awww love this thread. Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have an amazing day. For everyone who isn't having a good Christmas you got this x

Rubyupbeat · 25/12/2022 07:56

And this is why true Christmas is going down the pan, greed and commercialism. What a bad taste post this is!!

Sux2buthen · 25/12/2022 07:57

Great post, I've loved the pictures and been laughing at the shitty responses Grin
'Dear god Jane what a sad little life' came to mind

BertaHoon · 25/12/2022 07:58

Here is our little pile of tat! Just me and DD - decided to spend the money on some winter sunshine instead!

Happy Christmas all ❤️

Merry Christmas, loving the piles of pressies.

We are old and DS is adult so our pile is very small, we also have a fake tree as DH is allergic to real ones.

Pianofar · 25/12/2022 08:03

DailyMailReporterTellMeAllYourSecrets · 25/12/2022 07:09

No. Buying more for people doesn’t equate to loving them more. I hate these sorts of threads.

No one has said it has? Why click on it then, pathetic.

dollymixtured · 25/12/2022 08:06

This thread is one of the best illustrations I have seen of the English class system. The premise is completely vulgar and pretty much every post has reinforced what @Weepachu said. The idea of posting pictures of your presents to impress strangers is just absolutely ghastly yet my guess is that those doing it have no idea that the message they are sending out about themselves, to many posters, is the direct opposite of what they are trying to portray.

Deathraystare · 25/12/2022 08:06

@Pascha ·
Mine involves an annoying cat

The best kind of present! I am jealous now!!

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 25/12/2022 08:11

What's all this "impressing strangers" guff, and class being mentioned for crying out loud?!

I'm neither impressed nor repulsed by seeing pictures of people's presents on an anonymous forum 🤷🏼‍♀️

I like seeing them though, and I'd avoid threads showing them if I was so angered by them 🎄

Lockheart · 25/12/2022 08:16

MrsTumblebee · 25/12/2022 00:35

presents strewn across half the room?

I think you’re exaggerating quite a bit.

I'm literally describing the photo posted. The presents go halfway down the room.

Look, I don't care if people want to post photos of their presents and some of these photos are gorgeous, but to post a photo of what is clearly a huge amount of gifts and then to say "I never think it looks like enough" is what's shitty and braggy.

Trudij123 · 25/12/2022 08:16

wow, the competitive bitterness is at some level - sometimes I’m genuinely amazed what people get their kicks moaning about on here. 🤣🤣

one present or twenty - it doesn’t matter what the rest of the world choose to do, it’s not a competition!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day doing whatever they love to do :)

Mostly for 5 year old daughter. Probably a birthday present for me from DH as it is my birthday as well. Merry Christmas everyone.

Happy birthday!

Notatallanamechange · 25/12/2022 08:22

And you don’t think there’s some people out there, worried about Christmas and how much they’ve bought their kids who’s looked out of interest to see if they’ve done ‘enough’ and felt dreadful seeing all this crass nonsense? Because I have years ago when a struggling single parent. If just one person is made to feel bad by these threads then it’s not worth it.

Of course, if the need to show off is more important than the feelings of families who are struggling, then you be you. Enjoy spreading your Christmas cheer with your select group of similar adults, who get ‘Christmas joy’ by posting pictures on the internet. 🙄

Twiglets1 · 25/12/2022 08:25

Worriedmama23 · 24/12/2022 23:44

Nah you’re just tryna piss people off and be a smart arse, so thought I’d take the piss hun.

anyways merry christmas to all those scrooges out there. I’m going to jump in bed next to my daughter & hopefully give her the Christmas she frigging deserves and be completely unapologetic 🥰 merry Christmas hunsssss

Merry Christmas to you and your daughter- she’s lucky to have a mum who loves her so much. Hope you both have a great day

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 25/12/2022 08:25

It's an anonymous forum, they're not messaging photos through on to skint people's WhatsApp messages 🙄
No one else have any joy (on one day of the year) because others aren't, what a pile of crock 😑

DuchessOfDisco · 25/12/2022 08:28

Gosh the grinches are well and truely out aren’t they? I think we all know that the number of gifts has no relevance on the cost involved. We all know that spending £20 on a two year old could mean a dozen large boxes, but £20 on a teen is like a gift card. We have no idea from each photo how many people there are gifts for, the ages, and cost, and what is actually in them. My tree is ridiculous, but there are gifts for 11 people under them and one of the grandparents requested new pillows which is the most ridiculously large sized parcel and takes up the entire space at the front of the tree. Is that a ridiculous consumer greed gift? A new pillow?
honestly get off all your high horses, the trees are all beautiful

(Oh and one year I struggled to by dd a £10 trike as I was so poor, but I still loved looking at other peoples trees)

SomersetDreams · 25/12/2022 08:28

Santa only got me one gift! :)
