Hi , what do you all have for breakfast on Christmas morning ? We usually have Christmas dinner around 2-2.30 so don’t usually have anything too heavy

OP posts:
ShangPie · 20/12/2022 15:33

posh bacon sarnies and a bottle of champagne 🍾

We try and time it closer to brunch (11ish) so we have BLT on fancy bread and naice crisps.

Christmas dinner around 4 to allow for the compulsory snacking on nuts, chocs, etc hunger to build

emmathedilemma · 20/12/2022 15:35

the same as every other morning - whatever you want out of the cereal cupboard!

Season0fTheWitch · 20/12/2022 15:41

Pancakes and maple syrup this year with some fruit on the side. Last year we did sausage patties and a round egg in an english muffin. Next year I'll do pastries and bagels.

FoxyBloxy · 20/12/2022 15:41

Buck’s Fizz and quality street

Matilda1981 · 20/12/2022 15:42

Eggs Benedict for me and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for everyone else. Normally have this around 9.30/10 and don’t eat main meal until 4 ish!

Natsku · 20/12/2022 15:45

Rice porridge with sugar and cinnamon. Thinking of also making star bread this year (sweet bread with almond pasta and raspberry jam filling shaped into a star) but depends how cold it is the night before (so I can make it ready and then keep it in the porch overnight if its fridge temperature but not freezer temperature)

Snickerdoodle17 · 20/12/2022 15:46

Cereal/toast at about 7, then smoked salmon blinis and champagne at around 10

Wiloswisp · 20/12/2022 15:46

Croissant, but I just saw bacon rolls up post and maybe swayed 🤣🤣

MischiefTheChicken · 20/12/2022 15:46

Nigella Christmas morning muffins, grapefruit, pastries/toast.

maddy68 · 20/12/2022 15:47

I don't live in the UK. We buy fresh croissants from the bakery that's open Christmas morning and take them to the beach with a bottle of champagne

iloveyankeecandle · 20/12/2022 15:48

Chocolate.

BCBird · 20/12/2022 15:49

Mince pie porridge? Intrigued and salivating🤣

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 20/12/2022 16:00

Full hotel buffet style brunch (at my Mum's). We do our main Christmas dinner on 24th though, then on 25th at home we'll have leftover meat, PiB, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and gravy. Yorkshires and stuffing if there's any left. Basically all the bits the people at ours like the best on Christmas dinner.

AutumnColour89 · 20/12/2022 16:00

We have smoked salmon blinis- basically mini pancakes, creme fraiche with a little horseradish, smoked salmon and chives/dill.
Almost like tiny canapes so nice and light but still feels luxury and easy to serve/nibble on if there's lots of you.
Oh and bucks fizz!

emotionallyfragile · 20/12/2022 16:02

Buttered toast and a mug of tea.

CountZacular · 20/12/2022 16:10

I think this year we'll end up having croissants with bacon. We eat around 10am and dinner 2.30-3pm.

Usually bucks fizz (which is really champagne and a drop of orange juice) but this year I'm pregnant so just the juice.

Figgypudding123 · 20/12/2022 16:22

Bacon sandwiches here - about 9am

I8toys · 20/12/2022 16:23

I'm planning a full english for breakfast with bucks fizz, starter for lunch usually prawn cocktail and then christmas dinner at teatime. Pastries for boxing day breakfast.

TheGriffle · 20/12/2022 15:00

I normally buy frozen or those fresh jus roll pain au chocolate and croissants.

This year we have lion bar cereal (dh’s favourite) and I’ve bought a roll of puff pastry and will attempt a pastry Nutella twisty thing I think.

Along with the chocolate and sweets that appear throughout the morning as well.

Lion bar cereal, what devilry is this? I am going on a last food shopping expedition tomorrow and will have to scour the cereal aisle for such deliciousness

Always4Brenner · 20/12/2022 16:24

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. No bucks fiz.

TheNoodlesIncident · 20/12/2022 16:28

Our main Christmas meal is at 12 noon, so it'll be a light breakfast of toast/crumpets for us. Or maybe bacon rolls, but on oven bottom muffins if so...

TheGriffle · 20/12/2022 16:29

@TheLadyOfHay here it is. I normally get it in Home Bargains/B&M. Used to be £1.99 but I think it’s just over £2 now. Morrisons might also have it I think as well.

I hate it but it’s DH’s favourite so he gets it on special occasions! 😂
