I couldn't even type that without my teeth itching.

I'm sure they'll be plenty more...

I know a person who uses any holiday (Halloween, Christmas) to absolutely splurge on their kid who’s about 3 years old now since the day they were born. Elf of the shelf, different pair of themed/monogrammed pyjamas every day of the month leading up to it, huge grotesque Christmas Eve box, personalised cups, cakes etc and posts it all every day. Her Christmas tree is full to the brim with tacky pink decorations, feathers, bows the lot - makes me sick! And I know she doesn’t earn a lot. It’s really odd to me.

I honestly am not fussed about eating a traditional Christmas dinner. I'd happily get a takeaway or go out for a Chinese or something.

Yes....it is. It is cheery to avoid the rampant, competitive, forced, grim social media dysfunction that christmas has become. It's very cheery to not give a damn, drink wine, eat cheese, walk in the woods, and watch old films with someone you love.

I usually want to punch the person who says this… I’m always last minute and they’re likely to be smug and organised and just giving me added queasy stress.

Means that the product is probably 50% more expensive.

Christmas Pud in fact anyone using “pud” will immediately be out of my life … forever

secret Santa at work.

people who don’t have to work making me feel guilty about not making it a super magical time for my children by taking them to see Santa at the North Pole.

I only heard of Christmas boxes last year. I do find that quite grim. Stockings and presents are more than sufficient, surely.

Yes to cauliflower cheese with the dinner, all sorts of wrong. As is glazing root veg with honey or any other sweet stuff, they are sweet enough as it is.

saying they are buying more so the other person has a surprise to open- and these are adults ! Total consumerism

I loathe Christmas jumpers and the pressure to conform or you’re the grumpiest person alive. One year I roughly pinned a Christmas decoration to the front of a normal jumper which shut up but clearly irritated my colleagues but also made me laugh to myself all day.

I told my children from the age of about 4 Santa wasn’t real. It’s lying to them in my HO.
my poor daughter got a ticking off from her teacher when she revealed to the whole class there was no such thing as Father Christmas. I think she was 9
