I got very pissed off at this point as mine kept crashing. It did eventually go through though. Make sure you're not using a VPN - it definitely didn't like that!

I don't know why people are suggesting that shopping in store is easier. I remember Christmasses past when I couldn't find a turkey crown in my chosen store, only whole turkeys, & had to leave DH there with the rest of the Christmas shop & run across town to the other supermarket to see if they had one - luckily, they did.

Another year, faced with an empty shelf in the store, I was told if I wanted a turkey crown I had to get to the store first thing the next morning, so I did - & they still didn't have any out on the shelves! I insisted they got me one from the store room & whinged until they did. Not my proudest moment & compared with not having to leave the house to order & receive exactly what I wanted last year - no contest! Let's hope Tesco come through again this year.

Yes only email I had this week was to say my delivery pass had renewed. I’ve been on the app last night placing an order and didn’t see any notification their either.

keep getting to front of queue and then crashing on the 3rd time of trying now.

I fill the freezer and fridge in advance...then go out before dawn cracks one off to get bread/veg.
I do not play "delivery roulette" at Christmas. Xmas Grin

I've just got to the front and got a slot for the 23rd. I used the website and it didn't glitch at all.

How, oh how, is getting in the queue before 6, waiting ages in the queue, and then finding you can't check out, or if you can, there may well be substitutions or items missing at the last minute when delivered, more convenient than going to the supermarket in person??? Fine if you physically can't get there but I'm making my list (and checking it twice) and driving to Tesco (or Sainsburys, or Morrisons) in person......

One freezer has some stuff in already (pigs in blankets mostly) Xmas Grin but by mid Dec I'll be mostly done except for fresh veg and bread...and, if DH has a say, more blinkin' chocolate. 🤦‍♀️

Do not take Tesco’s advice to switch from the app to the website. You’ll be at the back of the queue again. If you stay in the app and keep clicking so it doesn’t go idle, you will retain your position at the front of the queue and will eventually be able to check out!

I don't know whether anyone has mentioned it above but don't bother with the app. It was crashing with me I couldn't even book the slot. But luckily, remembering this from previous years, I was in the queue on the web browser too which didn't glitch at all till check out. The app was still playing up.

I got into the queue at 6.20am, I was 200,000th in the queue and it said I was more than 1 hour away. I sorted the kids breakfast, got ready whilst occasionally checking to see how far I had got. Delivery booked for 23rd December just after lunch.

TBH I’m not too worried about ever getting a slot anymore.
I add in non-perishable items to my shops the couple of weeks before Christmas. Then perishable items and more booze in the Christmas shop.
I’ve started ordering the turkey and ham from the butchers instead of Tesco, after getting not a very healthy turkey from Tesco one year.

I have a Tesco slot booked but will be going out to local shops for more stuff. It adds to the Christmas ambience and atmosphere rushing around in shops.

I was on at 545 it crashed twice and I've now got through and only got a click and collect.
