Thread 9 - the one with stocking fingers

Reastie · 03/11/2022 14:41

@6poundshower thanks for the title. A stocking finger sounds far too small to fit many bargains in though! 🤣

Apologies for belatedly setting this up - was at a primary tour for potential school for ds and then working. Pesky RL! Hope you can all find me.

We have someone similar in our family. A hedgehog house was an unexpected hit one year! I now get photos and videos of the inhabitants every now and again 😁

Lovely idea. My DH would love one. BIL would hit me with it 😆

Eden perfumes are a vegan, UK company based in Brighton. They do wonderful perfume dupes. I found them as my favourite perfume has been discontinued (Stella McCartney). I have the original eau de toilette (still available)version and the Eden version - the Eden version is so much more like the original.

EDENV10 gets 10%off, which for a 50ml bottle translates as almost free delivery.

Wholeheartedly recommend.

Any ideas for a 40ish female with expensive taste? Likes John Lewis, must be very ethical, natural, subtle style. Looking for something expensive but with a decent discount! Maybe with a self care theme

Scoleah · 05/11/2022 20:07

Fuckingfuckssake · 05/11/2022 12:41

@Scoleah thank you, should I hold out for a BF deal or is the 20% new customer discount the best deal?

It was WELCOME25 when I did the order,
It still seems to be working if that takes anymore off for you?
I'm sure we put FREEGIFT in the notes too & it gave a bar of chocolate I think!
I've never heard of them until just before this thread so I'm not sure about Black Friday deals!

gogetgone13 · 05/11/2022 20:09

Kids weighted blankets half price at Online Home Shop, down to £20, lots of different styles including Minecraft & PlayStation

Looking for ideas for very hard to buy for retired BIL. £50-60 budget.

Nothing to wear (been there done that!).
He's not a reader/ cook/ gardener/drinker of wine/ not into restaurants/ into many hobbies.

We've done artwork/ cheese subscription/ personalised cheese board/ posh vodkas in the past. I'm stumped this year, truly stumped.

We adore him, particularly my youngest DS who he's very close to, but he's a nightmare!

@Blessedbethefruitz My DDs (3 and 6) loved the likes of this: there are a few different sets for different stories.

Blessedbethefruitz · 05/11/2022 20:28

Which sets @gawditswindy ? I'm going to the main page! I'm looking for upto £15

Could you make a hamper of his favourite food/drink? With some in jokes or things your DS picks maybe, or home made bits.

an Alexa?

heated throw/weighted blanket?

dna kit ancestry type thing?

Weird experience gift eg Segway ride?

Fitbit style watch?

leaf blower and a packet of balloons (okay that’s just what I would like for Xmas)

That would have been great, but he's not a wine drinker!

Lloyds pharmacy has started it's BF sale. I have one of these cushions (purchased on BF last year) and it has kept my bum cosy all year. There are other heat pads and massagers in the electrical sale but I accidentally opened it at work at there are some very NSFW items 🙄😂😂

user1019273703 · 05/11/2022 20:36

Does anybody know how much the barbie spaceship is in sainsburys?

tootsnwoocake · 05/11/2022 20:38

Boots have a free beauty heroes gift box worth £25 when you purchase £20 or more on cosmetics. Looks quite a decent gift. Can't link on phone but might be good for teens.

torthecatlady · 05/11/2022 20:49

My vans order finally arrived this evening. Pretty close to finishing everyone on my list!

Mycatisalwaysangry · 05/11/2022 20:51

Can’t find the poster anymore but Chelsea piers often has the short versions of the xmas pajamas in the sale page

Notlongnow1 · 05/11/2022 20:52

Babipur have 15% off full price items this weekend with code drop15

I'm trying not to look but will likely cave tomorrow 😂

lightisnotwhite · 05/11/2022 20:52

@Puffalicious What does he normally get you guys can I ask? ( on the basis people get other people the type of gifts they would like).

lightisnotwhite · 05/11/2022 21:06

@Puffalicious He must do/like something!

I’ve had success with out of season stuff. Benches and recliners for the garden that are hard to find when the weather get hotter. Nice if he is a sun lover.
Voucher for a haircut and shave.
Better or different versions of something he has already ( always recommended for men).
Something to make like the fancy wooden marble runs - could build it with you DS.

Aren't tropic an MLM?

What about this from joules with 40% off as pp mentioned. Simple and classy.
They have some beautiful pyjamas too

PinkPanther27 · 05/11/2022 21:26

Thanks for the ideas. I’ll have a look at Babipur. I don’t think she’d use Tropic if it’s a MLM regardless of how eco they are.
