Thanks for the M&S tip - I saw off-duty staff emptying the shelves of chocolate goodies!

I managed to get some chocolate popcorn, chocolate peanuts and an amazing £20 box of chocolates for £8.75. All dates (apart from choc popcorn) well after Xmas.

I've had one gin box and Royal Mail have the other.

My original party bag company order arrived. About 2/3 was missing (but I did spend £200 on stuff) but what I did get was amazing.

Anyone had any luck with getting a refund from their order yet?

Thank you, @Bonesofache. I stopped being lazy and Googled after I asked! I shall use mine after my next statement comes in next week to get an air fryer (proper 🐑 on MN for one of those!).

I've not had my craft gin box yet, but I suspect that is because of the Bank Holiday and the ongoing strikes.

@Ehunt1 we found Halfords bikes too heavy for small kids. There are a lot going second hand barely used. Not sure on discount codes but if you're looking for an under 10 I'd recommend a frog bike.

We've got Frog bikes for both or our boys, they are so much lighter and are designed specifically with children in mind rather than just being a smaller adult bike. They are quite pricey new but you can often pick them up second hand and they hold their value quite well to be able to sell them on again.

agree re Frog bikes also. Expensive but worth it and indeed good to sell on. So much lighter.

Another one recommending Frog or Islabikes. Ebay is good (even secondhand they aren't cheap) but also try Facebook - both searching your local selling pages or hoining groups dedicated to selling/buying Frog/Islabikes. If you search 'preowned frog' on Facebook then at least two groups will come up. I would research on ebay what the particular model you are looking for generally sells for, and then watch ebay and Facebook for one near you.

Thank you for the thrift tip off.. managed some bargains! Just a note in case it helps anyone, the code worked on all but one of my items (all were on sale) I decided to go for it as price was still good but emailed them questioning it and they have replied very politely and refunded the amount that should have come off.. great service!

@ehunt1 I go for second hand Islabikes now, but I believe the Carrera range at Halfords is reasonably lightweight and not a massive amount heavier than the corresponding Isla or Frog if you do want something brand new. We bought one for a Christmas present and I'm sure we got a discount on it in the November but that was a few years ago.

AA members get 10% off at Halfords. I've seen them do free bike build in the run up to Christmas.
