It's Baltic outside. 🥶 just had to take ds to football and it's in a National park thing, it's windy there even on the most still days but I almost got blown over today. And ds wouldn't even join in so that's great.

Anyway I'm just booking a spa day with a friend. Can't wait.

Morning!

Everything is more expensive today. Whoop! 🙄

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/04/2022 07:25

We have snow Xmas Shock
Not heavy , bit swirly .

I'm going to look at the prices in the supermarket when I go , see what they've hoiked up.

Going to Costco today , (usually go every couple of months )
Soya milk is 50% cheaper there than supermarkets!

CrazyBaubles · 01/04/2022 13:58

Fluffy I've always bought x stitch kits for ease but I have a collection of unused threads and some small pieces of Aida from the cross stitch magazine which I won't use so I may use them to make some extra Christmas cards this year. I'll just make up colour schemes as I go and maybe use some of the free patterns on love crafts.

Love the idea of a spa day Wreck. I'm considering booking myself in for a massage for while DH is away soon which is the closest I'll get for a while I think.

Bloody freezing here again today. 6° but feeling like 4° apparently 🥶
DH put the heating on for an hour this morning and it'll be going on again tonight, and I'm currently working with a jumper over my top and a blanket on my lap.

WreckTangled · 01/04/2022 15:13

It's been snowing on and off here all day but not settling. Can't believe it's even snowing really as it's 8° but feels like 3. It's also really windy. I almost got blown over.

Crazy I've been to this spa before and it's really fancy. I can't wait!

NoWordForFluffy · 01/04/2022 19:15

I've just been to Sainsbury's. It's bloody freezing out there! Feels like 3° apparently. 🥶🥶

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 01/04/2022 19:20

It's due to get down to -3° tonight. Really wishing DH had bought me the heated throw I wanted Sad

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/04/2022 19:52

We had snow and sleet off and on.
Went to Costco , DH pushed the trolley ( they are much easier than the Sainsbury trolley I usually haul round in a Saturday)

Got petrol (£1.55ish/litre ) I wouldn't make a special journey out there for fuel but if I'm there it;s a bargain.
It was freezing standing there though

Had to evict a fox from our shed , got DH to check theres no cubs there (there's a cutout in the door for MaleCat , fox used that)
Mangey looking thing it was , they have a hard life (but I'm still not a fan of them)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/04/2022 19:54

I'm glad I didn't change our winter bedding last week for the new Ikea set I bought .
DH is decorating the bedroom ( this is taking longer than painting the Forth Road Bridge) so I left it .
So cosy !

NoWordForFluffy · 01/04/2022 20:27

We just bit the bullet and read the meters. Only £53 in debit (and only because they bloody refunded us £140 last time, idiots!). They want to put the DD up. I've contacted them to tell them not to be so stupid, seeing as we wouldn't have been in bloody debit if they hadn't refunded us last time!

More snow on the ground this morning. Heating engineers finally found our leak yesterday but accidentally isolated the heating for almost all of downstairs rather than just half the kitchen. Bit chilly…

Morning!

At least the leak was found, Hopeful...shame they plunged you into the cold, however! 🥶🥶

Another cold day today, but I think it starts to improve from tomorrow. Hopefully! The few days we're in Glasgow don't look promising right now. There's time to improve. 🤞

Vasectomyreversalhopeful I hope you've phoned them and got them back! It's going to be really cold tonight.
fluffy when are you heading north? It looked a cracking day at Ayr today which is obviously no good to you now 🌞

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2022 17:55

We go south first, next Sunday with a mini MN meet up going on then north on 13th for 3 nights. We're staying with my friend, and babysitting while they're at a gig on the Weds night! Then getting very drunk in the hot tub the next night!

fluffy sounds like fun. Smile
DH mentioned painting something over Easter...🎨
🤦‍♀️😹

WreckTangled · 02/04/2022 19:20

Does anyone know how often the Lakeland vouchers come out? There's something I want from there and wondering if it's worth signing up first...

NoWordForFluffy · 02/04/2022 20:03

I've got one, Wreck. How much are you spending?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 02/04/2022 20:07

Ooo have you? It's £99

NoWordForFluffy · 03/04/2022 07:47

Morning!

We meant to have an early night last night but failed...I've started a new cross stitch (Little Dove Nutcracker one) so got a bit absorbed in that!

I need to update my thread spreadsheet so I know what colours I've bought since I started it, as I'd bought the missing colours for this one but not updated it. I'm using up some of the spare strands I have from kits too!

Need to go to the allotment today. I've got some seed bombs to put down and a bit more weeding to do around the rhubarb before it gets too big!

WreckTangled · 03/04/2022 08:11

I need to sort washing today and bake some lunch box items. Ds has got to make an Easter garden for his homework which is really bloody annoying. Who has time for that shit? He's got football this morning too. It's lovely and sunny here but also frosty.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/04/2022 08:31

Do yours have another week left, Wreck? We finished on Friday.

I detest homework like that. Stop dragging parents into making shit!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 03/04/2022 08:42

Yes we break up on the 8th. Me too, a) it's not something ds can do independently and b) it's more than a 30 minute task which I think is a reasonable amount for primary school aged homework. The teacher suggested they could do it in pairs of groups but I don't want to spend my weekend with someone else's child to do homework Hmm

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/04/2022 10:16

Morning Xmas Grin

I'm thinking about the Easter weekend food/meals ( apart from the chocolate eggs , that's sorted !)
I got DH and DC to add some ideas for what they want , like Christmas we tend to stick to the same things (no new fangled recipes here)

I have some Easter teatowels (ancient) with rabbits on them
Bought an Easter bowl+mug for DD

No Easter Tree though (cats ) but I bought a new door wreath after promising to buy one for ages .

Need to find a good recipe for HotCross Buns that I can start off in the breadmaker . There's one I use for Cinnamon Buns , which will be similar I think .

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 03/04/2022 13:21

The sun keeps making an appearance here although it is very chilly.

I bought a few Christmas presents last night which is early for me but feeling very pleased with myself.

WreckTangled · 03/04/2022 13:30

We've got washing out on the line for the first time this year. It's sunny and breezy for once. Going to rain after today though.

I've made 'cereal' bars and banana muffins for lunch boxes/after school and have booked and paid for holiday club for ds. Have also booked parking for when I take dd to see Harry styles.
