200!

Horrendous night here - coughing loads and was congested while led down. I think I've managed maybe 3 (broken) hours of sleep.
Have given up so am now sat on the sofa knitting.
Going to put an 'appointment' in my calendar for the gap I have before lunch and use it for a nap 😴

Wreck I hope dcat is ok.

WreckTangled · 08/06/2022 06:19

I was fast asleep when my alarm went off this morning 😴

Dh stayed up to speak to the vets last night but as far as I know he's at the OOH hospital for the night.

I've got an exam today. Law and ethics. Going to sneak fluffy in in my pocket. Actually it's at home so she could probably just do it for me Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/06/2022 06:33

Morning!

Crazy, I've had an awful night too. How can I be getting worse?! Could've sworn you were meant to improve as time passed. 😡

Wreck, I'm laughing at the idea of being put in your pocket! 🤣

WreckTangled · 08/06/2022 06:41

I'm guessing you're about 7" taller than me too Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/06/2022 20:51

Big pockets needed! 🤣

How did it go?

I worked 7-18.30 today. I'm knackered. 💤

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 08/06/2022 20:54

I passed 🙌🏼 thankfully. Phew.

That's a long day. Dh is fast asleep on the sofa, he's been doing that a lot recently, hope he's ok. Just busy and stressed I guess.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/06/2022 20:55

I found 2 rolls of Christmas ribbon and the Christmas Hamper bags in the Junk Room so I need to find a Safe Place to keep them (and add to them no doubt )

As it's now 200 days I can officially start planning Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/06/2022 20:56

Well done Wreck Xmas Grin

Morning. I made up for my awful night by pretty much passing out at 10pm and sleeping right through until DH woke me at 7 😳

Fluffy how are you feeling today?

Congrats on passing your exam Wreck

70 I have a safe space in the spare room. It's supposed to be the airing cupboard but the boiler isn't in there so it's pretty roomy.
I have 1 shelf of towels and bedding, 1 shelf of blankets / pillows / quilts and a huge washing basket full of yarn and the bottom shelf is full of 'craft stuff' (Christmas ribbon, fabric, the box I keep random things I make in etc)

NoWordForFluffy · 09/06/2022 10:56

Well done, Wreck!

Crazy, not so bad today. I tend to cough more first thing and later in the evening now. So it's not as persistent as it was, thank god! At least you had proper sleep last night.

I've booked Santa train tickets today, for 12pm on Christmas Eve! It's the same train as last year with big comfy seats. Now they don't go to bed early, it's much easier to go out, and then make mince pies for Santa when we get home!

SantaTrain on Christmas Eve sounds lovely (we went on a couple when my DC were little but not on the 24th)

Today is a day to (hopefully) get the washing done.
I have to do a supermarket shop, defrosted the freezer ( the one in the kitchen) last night and it's going into chill mode now waiting for its new food

NoWordForFluffy · 10/06/2022 11:46

It's lovely here today! And also set to be nice all weekend, for a change!

We've done a Santa train every year since they were born. They absolutely love it. First time on CE here too, but it would've caused chaos in earlier years. 🤣

Morning!

DH is wanting to do a local Park Run this morning, so I'm up and at 'em and on the way to Sainsbury's for the top up shop. I wanted to walk, so needed to leave early doors to give myself time.

The baby starlings heard the kettle and went mental. They know kettle = mealworms (we soak them first)!

It's quite warm and clammy already.

Morning all :) Am going to start booking Christmas stuff next month I think. I usually start planning Christmas proper in late August when you start to get the autumn tang to the air. However realise some stuff needs booking earlier.

weather has been pretty rubbish so far this June but looks like next week it improves.

WreckTangled · 11/06/2022 08:10

We're showing 28° by the end of next week 🥵 I like warm but not that warm when I have to work and take dd to Wembley!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2022 08:17

That's the only planning I'm doing for now! I got the email and wanted to get it sorted so we didn't miss out.

We have an inkling that the NZ leg of the family may be coming over (otherwise, the birthday present they've bought DH is properly weird, as it's entry into a half marathon on 18 Dec, which DH thinks his brother would run with him if he's here!). So no planning can occur til we know.

I hope you're right about the weather, Dreaming!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/06/2022 09:55

I did wonder at the Kettle Pavlov response with your baby starlings but the munchy soft mealworms explains it Xmas Grin

Our cats have an uncanny knack of knowing when it's 13.30 and will appear as if by magic ( like the shopkeeper in Mr Benn - one for the oldies there - ) knowing it's Dreamies time .
The femalecat stayed out till 11.30 last night ( I made DH wait up for her ) her sense of timing is very fluid when it suits her Xmas Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2022 12:08

I loved Mr Benn!

I have watered the plants in the greenhouse, weeded and mowed the lawn. It looks much better out there now.

A local church has a fun day thing going on, so we're heading there after lunch. I just went to the cash point at Tesco to get them a fiver each to spend (it's one of the few places I know where the machine gives out fivers!); handy it's in walking distance. 😁

I referenced the old British Rail 'getting there' ads to an (older) client the other day. I don't do that if they're younger than I am! 🤣

DD and I use a lot of dinnerladies quotes even though the series finished two years before she was born.
DH looks Xmas Confused if I try and shoehorn a quote in.

CrazyBaubles · 11/06/2022 21:36

Just home from watching the new Top Gun at the cinema. If I didn't hate Tom Cruise it would be a good film.
I did like that they've managed to keep the 80s feeling.

I went to an outdoor cinema last night. Never been to one before - we had 'vip' tickets which basically meant a deckchair rather than having to bring out own. It was fun so I'll be doing that again.

Having a random, mid year 'Christmas dinner' at my parents tomorrow. My sister and the kids will be there, she's doing Turkey, pigs in blankets, the works. Not sure why but she's very excited about it Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/06/2022 00:10

I haven't even seen the original TopGun (1986 Google tells me ! )
Not a huge Tom Cruise fan either , nothing against him as an actor , I just haven't wanted to see any of the films he's in.
I did watch the "Keith and Paddy Picture Show" TopGun and the whooping Faux Maverick does has put me off ever wanting to watch it in case it;s in the original film.

I am officially now marked and expect to find a horses head on my bed , I de-flead both cats .
Female hissed at me as I held her neck scruff ( like the Vet told me)
Male cat was trying to escape from the bedroom so protesting (loudly) at the door , I was able to dose him without any restraint .
So now instead of glaring at me , they both hate me ( I;ll get over it Xmas Wink )

At least when we worm them they get the tablet crushed up and disguised in a treat .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/06/2022 00:15

Enjoy your random Mid Summer Christmas Dinner Crazy

My DS loves Sunday Dinner ( chicken for him -the rest of us are vegetarian -, yorkshire puddings , roast potatoes , gravy , he doesn't let the vegetable sides pass his lips though )
It doesn't matter if its 35c outside he's still Muvvver , as its Sunday ........
I should make sprouts and make him wear a party hat , go the whole nine yeards

NoWordForFluffy · 12/06/2022 08:07

Morning!

Having not had a proper period for a long time, my body is going for it today. Hurrah. 🙄

You'd only get soggy frozen sprouts at this time of year, 70, which is cruel and unusual punishment for your DS! 🤣

Enjoy your dinner, Crazy! Xmas Grin

Morning. I think we're heading into scorching weather this week 🥵. I hate the heat so am expecting to be a bit miserable.

Yesterday was very odd - there was a full on Turkey dinner (including sprouts and pigs in blankets) and my sister and mum were bickering so it felt like Christmas, but it was very sunny and hot outside Xmas Grin

Back to work today and loads to do as always!

CrazyBaubles · 13/06/2022 08:10

Also, just realised your body is being a PITA Fluffy - hope you're feeling ok. Brew, Wine, Cake or Gin - take whichever one helps!
