Wine does that to me Wreck - guaranteed to wake me stupidly early and have me feeling rubbish.
My solution is to eat, drink tea then water then go back to sleep.

Fluffy do we have the same cough? My voice is either very hoarse or very deep too. Plus it's all come with a delightful runny nose and watering eyes 🤧

why we watched the original Top Gun last night in preparation for the new one.
I'd never seen it before because I don't like Tom Cruise and I thought it was a bit rubbish. Glad to hear the new one is better!

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 04/06/2022 21:44

Crazy, I wasn't bothered by the first Top Gun (as I also don't like Tom Cruise much) but honestly I want to see Maverick again I enjoyed it so much.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2022 22:37

Crazy, my cough is driving me mad! I sometimes lose my voice, as well as the deep version. 🙄 I also have a really sore throat and it's in my ears too. Plus the runny nose and itchy eyes. Hideous.

I've never seen Top Gun in full or Dirty Dancing; I've missed some 80's classics. I'm also not a TC fan (though I think his worst film is Vanilla Sky, which is a shocker!).

I'm not a Tom Cruise fan either but he did look pretty good a couple of weeks ago when he was promoting his new film. ( i always think Robert Downey Jr looks good , don't know if he;s had an "tweaks" )

DH is snoring on the sofa , I;m going to prod him awake in a minute then take myself off to bed .

NoWordForFluffy · 05/06/2022 09:47

Morning!

RDJ can be relatively easy on the eye, it has to be said! TC has weird religious leanings which means, even if I found him attractive (I don't!), that would be a total turn off. (I'm sure he's bothered. 🤣)

My coughing is so bad in the morning. Really annoying.

It's starting to rain and I need to go to the allotment. Excellent timing. 🙄

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/06/2022 10:41

It tipped down here last night (don't need to water the plants <result> )

My DS and I always have A Heated Debate (not an arguement Xmas Grin )
He maintains Ryan Reynolds is the physical personification of The Worlds Most Handsome Man. (Something to do with his measurement of nose/forehead /chin ratio ) He read it , he hasn't got a thing for RR !
My DS is delusional only part correct .
Mr RR has a pleasing face but his eyes are too close together .
On paper George Clooney is Most Handsome but he doesn't have a quirky enough look for me , too bland
RDJ is classically handsome but has a spark , something else

NoWordForFluffy · 05/06/2022 13:09

It's a twinkle in the eye, 70!

I wouldn't say no to Chris Hemsworth. Don't like TC at all, he creeps me out. I would like to see top gun but I think dh is taking ds tomorrow (he has an inset day) whilst I'm at work.

It rained here overnight but is dry and cloudy today.

CrazyBaubles · 05/06/2022 14:25

I love RDJ, right back from his Ali Mcbeal days.
Also, I enjoy the Marvel movies and it's collection of nice looking actors (Chris Hemsworth is my favourite, but Chris Evans is a close second).

I think RR is nice but if he wasn't famous, I don't think you'd necessarily notice him.

70 I think a lot of the actors that people rave about are underwhelming / plain and I include George Cloony and Brad Pitt in that.

Fluffy how are you feeling?
I agree about Tom Cruise - not good looking but also, the Scientology thing is kind of terrifying.

I'm still sniffling all over the place, awful headache and a barking cough.
DH has gone out with his friends for a few hours. My mum called, felt sorry for me because I sound and look awful and sent my dad down with a roast dinner 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 05/06/2022 15:41

My throat is burning and my eyes are hot. I feel exhausted too. 😟 DH was cleaning the kitchen when I got back, so at least I haven't had to do that job today though he never does it as well as I do, despite taking twice as long.

I took 3 barrows of weeds out of my allotment. My courgettes and pumpkins went in. Hopefully they'll do well now they're in the ground.

Crazy, have you seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang? It's really funny (or was when we watched it ages ago)! One of RDJ's return from being vanished films.

My bank tells me I'm finally getting the energy rebate tomorrow. About time too!

Oooh Fluffy do you think you're fighting a cold or is it a pollen-ey eyes'n'throat lurgy ?

My NDN grew some accidental pumpkins from the Hallowe'en lantern ( they didn't get big but there were a good few )
I bought some plants , nurtured them and got one the size of a tennis ball that shrivelled up and fell off Xmas Sad and the rest all died off .

NoWordForFluffy · 05/06/2022 22:50

I'm not sure, 70. My pelvic floor is hanging on for dear life, however! 🙈🤣 I'm leaning more towards hayfever. For now!

Pumpkins have a habit of doing that. Annoying!

The cat is sick. He was sick yesterday a few times and has been a few times overnight. Not his usually hair balls, it's literally just water/brown liquid. He's also not come to see me this morning and is just lying sleeping, although he did stir when I walked past. I guess he might need the vets. Dh has booked to take ds to the cinema just after lunch though, hope they can fit him in round that (and it doesn't cost £££££).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/06/2022 12:18

Poor cat - do you think he's eaten something that's made him ill? Either found some old barbeque food or something like chemicals ? (Anti-freeze is apparantly irresistable to anmals)

Is there grass in his vomit -though he might have chucked up the solids and now onto the liquid cintent .
Poor thing !

WreckTangled · 06/06/2022 13:04

They've kept him in for fluids. I'm at work so dh is sorting it. His DOB isn't matching at he vets and insurance so I'm worried there might be an issue there 😩

CrazyBaubles · 06/06/2022 16:30

We're on 666 posts so I had to add something asap!

I've added Kiss Kiss Bang Bang on to my 'to watch' list Fluffy - I may have watched it before but have no memory of it.

Wreck I hope your cat is ok asap (and that the insurance etc is all sorted).

I'm just about to log off from my first day back after a week off. It's been hard - I've been freezing for most of the day but I'm suddenly boiling now 🥵
Going to do my daily plant walk around the garden to see how everything is getting on ans hope that cools me down

NoWordForFluffy · 06/06/2022 18:30

Sorry your cat isn't well, Wreck. I hope it all gets sorted and he's better soon.

Crazy, my first day back too. I'm up the wall. Sigh. Had 3 hours of meetings today too, which didn't help.

It's so cold here. I'm unimpressed. 🥶

The baby starlings are getting louder. Won't be long before batch 2 are out and about, causing trouble!

201 Afternoon. Where is everyone?

Wreck how is your dcat?

I'm having a very quick cuppa before the next meeting. I'm expecting it to be fun as my voice has become high pitched and ridiculous - I sound like Minnie Mouse 😂

WreckTangled · 07/06/2022 14:01

He's in the vets again. They did bloods and said he's got a bad infection but not sure where. Also low potassium. They're treated the symptoms for now and hope he will improve. They said they can't rule out anything sinister atm. Another £500+ I think.

NoWordForFluffy · 07/06/2022 17:17

Afternoon!

I'm here, just stupidly busy at work. Hate having time off!

Sorry your cat isn't well, Wreck. Did you sort the DoB issue out?

Crazy, my persistent cough is driving me insane. Just need it to do one.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 07/06/2022 17:43

Yes that's all sorted thanks. He's having an operation at the moment

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/06/2022 19:22

Ahh hopefully he's out of surgery and in recovery now .

The 70Cats are keeping everything crossed for him.

He'll be so Judgey when he comes home , be prepared to be told at every waking moment how unreasonable you are and how he has been through the wringer (They like their pound of flesh , cats )

WreckTangled · 07/06/2022 19:23

We still haven't heard Sad also they close at 7 so I can't even call them to see what's happening although I know they'll call as soon as they can. We have to drive him to OOH too which is miles away so would rather know sooner than later

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/06/2022 19:44

They'd have someone on site to monitor any overnight and recovery animals I'd have thought - hopefully they;ll phone you this evening , they must know how worrying it is !

WreckTangled · 07/06/2022 19:58

No they don't, they use an out of hours veterinary hospital which is 11 miles from us/16 miles from the vets he's at. They already said we'd need to take him there as he can't go home tonight (even if we had decided against the op tonight).
