70 I've bought us some Pimm's, does that count? Grin We got rid of our old freezer last month (it was at least 15) as the door seal had perished - it was only a cheepo one from Tesco. I want a frost free one next.
why have you done it Royal Purple? I wish mine would go grey white faster so I could give it a purple rinse. 😹

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 02/06/2022 18:20

I don't always go back to sleep Fluffy. If my brain wakes up then I am doomed.

It is medium blonde pussy not royal purple. Maybe some other time.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/06/2022 18:24

It's chucking it down now. Thankfully our two loads of washing were dry and brought in before it started.

I've dismantled 2kg of chicken thighs. Half for marinating for curry tomorrow and half to freeze. I can't bring myself to pay the price for the ones without skin / bones, so I pay less than half the price and remove them myself. It's not the best job, but it saves money!

I scrubbed the bathroom floor earlier as it was looking a bit grubby. We've decided not to replace the steam mop, as they don't seem to last and also don't seem very good. So I need to get one of those foam rectangle ones which have a squeezing mechanism, as I think they're the best mops. Anyone here got one they can recommend?

'Medium blonde pussy'?! Sorry, I had a childish giggle to this part of the sentence, Why! 🙈🤣

It's been lovely and warm here I even caught the sun a bit. Tomorrow looks just as nice then it's set to turn again.

Raises eyebrow and has a quiet chat in Fluffy's lughole about Lowering The Tone on The Queen's Special Day

It'll be The Tower for you , missy ! Wink

pussycatlickinglollyices · 02/06/2022 19:33

hmm...maybe I should change my name? 🤣😻

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 02/06/2022 19:39

Haha I had not noticed that Fluffy.

Fluffy we used to do the same with chicken here but tbh we eat very little meat these days so haven't bought chicken in ages.

Also 😱 at you lowering the tone - agree with the Tower for you!

We got home from Bournemouth yesterday. I'm even more sunburnt after a cafe breakfast stop before we left. I'm slightly tomato coloured on my face, chest and arms Blush

Quite proud that I had an empty washing basket when I left and I've done all our holidays washing today so it's still empty 😇

Aside from that we've been very lazy today - watered plants, learned to cast off and that's about it.

Am now trying to learn different basic knitting stitches as I want to start on a scarf - I figured it's the standard new knitter project and I have some lovely yarn I've been meaning to make a scarf and hat with for years.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/06/2022 00:12

Fluffy I bought one of those micro fibre mops (Vileda Turbospin) there's a pedal that whirls the wringer bit

I found the rectangle squeezy one didn't fit wjere I needed it to and one with a twistable collar on the handle stopped working so hard for me to twist ( my poor old hands Sad )

Steam mop is good to clean the kitchen though ( no pesky awkward spaces) and safer for the cats as its just water

Forgot the all important Coundown

Lazy day planned around the sorting out the bedroom.
I need to organise the bedding and toiletries - my life is just Non Stop Glamour Xmas Grin

Rain is forecast for Sunday ALL DAY heavy rain.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 03/06/2022 06:44

Morning.
At least it wasn't me "off to the tower" Grin
fluffy we have cheapest steam mop that I could get from the supermarket. It's been going for 8 yrs (I bought it when we got the cats).
Before that I had a Vileda (active max) with an angular head. It's crap. You can't squeeze the water out of the pad and the floor gets too wet. DH uses it to clean the conservatory roof and windows now Grin I also had a cheepo sponge one before that, from Asda (I think), which snapped pretty quickly.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2022 07:49

Hmmm. Mops are clearly a minefield! We've never had much joy with the longevity of steam mops though, and they just never seem to clean the bathroom very well either. Maybe my choice of flooring is at fault!

It's been chucking it down here most of the night. When I first woke at 7, it was sounding like monsoon season good and proper! Proper BH weather. 🙄🤣

It's nice here. My iPhone is saying a a shower at lunch time but met office isn't. I'm going to risk putting the washing out anyway, if it's not dry by the time it rains it should dry after

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2022 10:25

Still raining here. The food and drink festival has been cancelled today as the ground is waterlogged.

I'm just putting my parents' names and wedding date on this cross stitch and I will then start to be productive! Hopefully it'll then be dry for DS and I to go into town for him to choose DD's birthday card from him.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 03/06/2022 13:20

No rain here for days...I've watered this morning, and probably will again later.
I've tried a rain dance, but so far, nothing except a stubbed toe on the wheelie bin
The sweet peas are now planted out, with bamboo and a trellis - they just need to grow a bit. I've planted some Sunflower seeds - no idea what I was doing, so I stuck my finger in the compost and put them in pointy end up, then covered them up. 🌻🤞

CrazyBaubles · 03/06/2022 13:41

We have a steam mop Fluffy. It's our second one after I snapped the handle off the last one on the day we moved out.
I like it and it does a good job but it doesn't reach into the corners which is annoying.

We have lovely weather here (although met office said it was going to rain).
I've been avoiding it again as my sunburn is ok today and I don't want it to flare.
I've also picked up a random sore throat and scratchy cough which is making my voice sound very deep and manly 😂

puss your approach to sunflowers is the same as mine.
I planted 2 last year and neither grew at all but I planted 4 this year and 3 are growing so 🤞🏼

Also, very exciting, we've just split our first ripe 🍓. Very tasty it was too!

I've cleaned the bathroom, paired up socks and put the dishwasher on. The house is already clean and tidy so only job left is to put clothes away so obviously I am doing more knitting practise - this time I'm learning to do rib stitch which should be easy but for some reason my hands really struggle with doing purl stitches. DH said it looked like I was trying to knit backwards my hands were so awkward 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 03/06/2022 16:08

We've had a ridiculous amount of rain this week, Puss. Must've had your share too.

I've cleaned the bathroom and been into town with DS on the train. He costs me a fortune, adding stuff to my trolley in Sainsbury's.🙄

DH put the clothes away earlier and has vacuumed as well, so the house is mostly-clean.

Maybe it was just the last steam mop which was shite, as it never seemed to clean that well. Our first cheap one was great. And since then we've had no luck with the damn things.

It's sunny here now. About time!

I went to see Top Gun Maverick this afternoon and really enjoyed it. Far better than the original in my opinion. I suspect how far the effects have come on played a part in that though.

Nearly into the 100s now Xmas Shock

I found out today ( First World Problem) there were 3 bags of Taste and Glory Vegan pretendy chicken roast pieces in our freezer that broke down and we had to throw out the contents as we knew it was at least 48 hours and everything had defrosted .
And Sainsbury don't sell it now so I'm really unreasonably annoyed Xmas Hmm

Actually I've just looked online and the company have stopped making it so I'm going to have to trawl round for any stray packs in Asda or Tesco .

WreckTangled · 04/06/2022 06:02

I've been awake since 3/4. Had a few drinks last night and I always wake up early afterwards. Another reminder of why I don't drink, I must remember this. Have got up for coffee and am hoping I can go back to bed in a couple of hours for some more sleep..:

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2022 07:52

Morning!

That would really annoy me too, 70. Good luck with the hunting.

Wreck, I can sleep after a few drinks. If I get actually drunk, then I'm awake at the crack of dawn as well. It's annoying.

My cough is worsening. I'm not impressed. 🙄

We're having a BBQ later. DS' request.

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 04/06/2022 07:55

I was quite merry. I had three wines and a beer and generally never drink so I suppose that was a lot for me. Really annoying but at least I feel fine today.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/06/2022 08:25

Ah, there you have it: it was the beer! 🤣
