Oh lovely! I've not been to Crete before, I bet October will be perfect temperature.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/05/2022 16:12

Sounds good Fluffy - we went to Tenerife in Oct half term a few years ago , it was lovely weather but the outdoor pool wasn't heated !
Our hotel was across the road from a really nice shoppping centre that already had Cristmas stock in and a big Father Christmas (and it wasn't even Hallowe'en yet ) Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 28/05/2022 19:03

It looks like the weather will be high teens / low twenties, which is fine. I'm not a fan of baking, and it'll be a dryer heat than here, so feel warmer anyway.

There's apparently a supermarket near the hotel, which is handy for emergency snacks! 🤣

Morning!

It looks like it's been a touch damp overnight. Not hugely, mind (thankfully, as the washing was still out!).

The manky-legged starling appeared again yesterday. It looks so bloody uncomfortable, poor sod. He looks like he's lost his forceful starling way a bit, as he seemed reluctant to push into the crowd for food, which is unusual for them. 😟

Allotment soon. Weeding again. Thrilling!

Checking in from a Bournemouth b&b bedroom where I've been sleeping off a hangover for the last 2 hours Blush
Went to see Ed Sheeran last night but because of the chaos and we went early and ended up merry.
Travelling today was hell on earth 🤢

Yay for your holiday booking Fluffy - having something to look forward to definitely helps when work is manic doesn't it?

Morning!

Crazy, sounds like you had a brilliant time!

I weeded my onion beds yesterday and then hoe'd the bits of the plot which have things in if they've not been eaten by the bloody rabbits. My potatoes are doing well!

It's very wet here. I'm very happy to have rain as the plot was quite dry really, despite recent rain. I did water, but that will have prepped the ground nicely for today's watering!

It's nice to be off work. 😁

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 30/05/2022 08:16

It's dry here for now. But cold! My car said 4° this morning.

I might do the dreaded wardrobe sort out today. I've got so many clothes stuffed in there that I don't wear/have forgotten about/doesn't fit. It won't be fun but it needs doing.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/05/2022 13:00

Still wet. Not amazingly warm, either. 🙄

CrazyBaubles · 30/05/2022 16:48

Odd weather here - boiling and sunny then grey and freezing. I've still somehow managed to catch the sun though Hmm

We went to Sanbanks today and had a wander around looking at the expensive houses - and there wasn't one I'd want to live in!

Fluffy how is the allotment?
Wreck did you do the wardrobe sort out?

WreckTangled · 30/05/2022 16:59

No 🙄 dd has been in her room all day, which is where all of my clothes are, and she's in a worse mood than me Grin

I know Bournemouth well crazy my ex was at uni there and I used to go down every weekend. Might take the dc in the summer, it's close enough to do in a day easily.

WreckTangled · 31/05/2022 07:25

208 the rain here overnight Shock it woke dh and I up it was so loud, like a monsoon.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/05/2022 12:43

Afternoon!

We had that rain too, Wreck. It's lovely and sunny now though. And breezy! Two loads of washing are on the line.

I'm helping DS hunt Lego down. Thrilling. 🙄

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 31/05/2022 12:47

We've got more rain coming later. Such crap weather. It's cold too.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/05/2022 17:38

We've had the worst of the rain now, I think. It's been pleasant here, when the wind drops.

I've finally sown my sweetcorn and sunflowers, plus more runner and green beans. Took me ages as I promised DS I'd look for Lego with him, which took me bloody hours. I did then dust the front room though, and tidy it a bit, so at least I was vaguely productive!

Morning!

I seem to have a bad cold. Or my hayfever has ramped up. Hard to tell sometimes! My throat is really sore though.

I'm not sure what we're doing today. Maybe going to the wetland place. I shall see what's what after breakfast.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 01/06/2022 09:54

Been up since just after 3 (the cars looked frosty Shock) did a Tesco shop at 6...now waiting for a parcel (farce)...
Who thinks it will arrive as I nod off for a nap later? 🤦‍♀️😹
Not had that much rain over the last couple of days except yesterday when DH went for a walk and came back soggy and I don't think I need to water today. I can always get DH and his hose of doom into action tomorrow 🥕🥔🌧
fluffy DH has been sneezing and coughing for the last 24hrs and my antihistamines aren't really cutting it either.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/06/2022 10:02

We had a surprise downpour just after I posted (forecast said less than 5% chance of rain)! I definitely don't need to water today as we've had rain for the last few days and / or nights, so the ground will be wet well below surface level.

Maybe it is the hayfever, Puss. It's really bad, whatever is causing it.

Your parcel will definitely come when you're napping. Sod's law!

NoWordForFluffy · 01/06/2022 10:04

Oh, we think our starlings may have had another set of babies, as DH found half an egg shell earlier. As if it could get any noisier! 🙈 The previous lot haven't left home yet, either which, according to the internet, is a bit slow.

OP posts:
pussycatlickinglollyices · 01/06/2022 16:29

Our baby starlings are pretty independent now. The adults are still collecting, so I think they've got a 2nd brood too.

I was awake for the parcel, DH was out cold on the sofa - he didn't hear a thing!😹

NoWordForFluffy · 01/06/2022 16:34

At least one of the babies is still shouting to be fed when they're eating mealworms (and is obliged by its doting parent)! Most are definitely more independent though. The other day, about 10 babies showed up with one adult, who looked more than a little harassed by them! 🙈🤣

We have a twig sticking out of our loft which they tried to get through the entrance, in an anti-physics move, and abandoned when they obviously failed!

Morning!

It looks like it's going to be nice today. Not so much tomorrow though! Saturday appears to be the better day.

I only woke up 20 minutes ago. Almost unheard of for me to sleep past 8!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 02/06/2022 09:06

We're meant to have nice weather today and tomorrow and that's it.

My neighbour was chainsawing at 8:20 this morning Angry it's only just stopped.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/06/2022 10:05

Ahhh lovely to wake up on a BH and think Go away LBC presenter , I'm going back to sleep

Washing load out
DH is sorting out an Ikea wardrobe
I'm waiting for DS to get ready then he's off to the gym and I'm going shopping

Our freezer in the garage coughed its last ( it is over 23 years old , got it pre-DS so done well) so I cannot buy a lot of frozen food , the freezer inside is much smaller .

If any of you are joining in the Jubilee Celebrations - enjoy .
I have bought red/white/blue drinking straws as my effort to get involved .Xmas Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 02/06/2022 12:07

I got up at 02.30 to pick my son up from town and then I slept till just after 09.00. I have dyed my hair a different colour and I am going food shopping later. Living the dream as always.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/06/2022 12:47

I'd never get back to sleep after getting up, Why! Well done for so doing. 😁

I've been to Aldi for BBQ food for Sat, as it's meant to be sunnier than today, which is dry but increasingly cloudy.

I couldn't cope without all 3 of our freezers, 70, I'd have ordered a new one already! 🤣
