Evening!

Such a busy day today. As ever.

Quilting looks really good. I'm no good at sewing, however, so will pass on that one!

Sports day was cold, Crazy. Sun went in, wind got up. I'd have been blue if I hadn't had my fleece! 🥶🥶 I think the kids enjoyed it though.

How many tote bags = 50 hours, Dreaming?

DreamingofItaly2023 · 24/05/2022 21:01

I think it was around 25. I got much quicker at the end but that was balanced out by being extremely slow at the beginning 😂

Happy Rudolph Day number 5! I don't have any Christmassy plans, however. Xmas Grin

It's pissing down here. Grim. But at least I don't have to water the allotment!

What were the tote bags for, Dreaming?

CrazyBaubles · 25/05/2022 09:50

Happy Rudolph Day! I forgot it was 25th today.
It's my first day back in the office in 2 years today and in typical train-line style, I won't be getting in until 10:30 ish thanks to once cancelled and one very delayed train 🙄

It's also raining here Fluffy - not the weather I was hoping for considering the time spent in a rubbish shelter at the station

DreamingofItaly2023 · 25/05/2022 10:13

They are being sold next week fluffy to raise money for Ukraine. The main aim however was to prevent textiles going to landfill.

happy Rudolph Day! Only Christmas plans here are to continue with a cross stitch Christmas card I am working on. Also tipping it down here so a day of DIY and decorating.

WreckTangled · 25/05/2022 16:06

Dropped ds at his residential earlier. It's an hour away and traffic was horrendous. When we got there I couldn't park as it was full so, even though he'd been told we could go and walk him to his dorm and look around it with him, I just had to drop him off and didn't even get to give him a cuddle goodbye. It made me a bit sad and he wasn't too keen but I know he will have been fine once he walked in has some of his friends were already there. They've already done archery, climbing and sailing.

DH is in the kitchen...I've just heard him talking to himself say "It's like being a Chef!"
You might wonder what he's cooking...big fry-up, pancakes etc..?
He's trying to multi-task making a cuppa and "cooking" 2 rounds of toast in the toaster.
🤦‍♀️
Happy Thursday, everyone!😹

NoWordForFluffy · 26/05/2022 07:46

That's hilarious, Puss.

I'm really upset as one of our starlings has a very nasty broken leg which has been pulled out of its socket. There's no catching it to try to help it though (the fright might see him off in any event). We've not seen him today, so I'm fearing the worst (he was eating OK last night). For some reason I can't stop thinking about it. 😭

It's wet here, as forecast. The washing will be done later when it's dry!

School finishes today. It's their extra day for the Jubilee tomorrow.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 26/05/2022 08:10

Fluffy we have one with a damaged leg, too. He's been back yesterday and filled himself up with sultanas, mealworm and suet pellets. He's had it for a few days now, but seems to be coping. I think sitting on the lawn helps him feed - the grass is a bit long so he can sort of "rest" a bit. The others aren't bothered by it.
We had a one-legged starling last year, too. That one seemed to adapt really well and came back with adult plumage.
Not seen the white one though - the white feathers aren't as "robust" and they're easier to spot for predators.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/05/2022 08:39

Oh, that gives me hope. I'm so - disproportionately - upset by it!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 26/05/2022 09:27

Fluffy I hope your little starling is ok!
I was very upset when the magpies got the little blackbirds in my old house so I understand.

Right now I'm operating a bee respite and rescue centre from the conservatory and I worry about them which is a bit ridiculous!

I lost my Rudolph Day to the worst migraine I've had in a very long time.
I got to the office yesterday only to find they'd removed the monitors from the section I was working in so I had to strain my eyes to use my laptop screen only. I had so many meetings I didn't drink enough and barely stopped for lunch - between that, the heating being on full in the building and the trains and my hormones being awful I couldn't stop it. Missed tea, was sick and was in bed at 6:30 until this morning.

I think I'm going to have a delayed Rudolph day today and maybe spend some time deciding what Christmas decorations and presents I'm going to make this year.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/05/2022 18:23

Migraines are the worst, Crazy. I had one last Friday which meant I felt 🤢🤢🤢 all day.

No sign of manky-legged starling. I'm very worried about him. 😟

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 27/05/2022 09:03

212 it's very bright and warm here 😎 so I've put the last load of washing in.

Definitely agree with you Fluffy, migraines are the worst. The one I had this week was the worst in a very long time.

Also last day in work before a week off 🥳🥳 so I'm desperately trying to tie up loose ends in work. It's going to be a busy day!

WreckTangled · 27/05/2022 09:36

Nice here too. I am completely miserable though. Stupid hormones, I feel like I might burst into tears at any minute Blush

NoWordForFluffy · 27/05/2022 17:42

Very breezy here, but sunny, so a cracking drying day!

I'm off too next week, Crazy. Thank god! I need a break.

Wreck, do you suffer with hormone-induced moods much? It's miserable, isn't it?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 27/05/2022 17:59

Only the day or two before my period is due. It's been such a warm day here 22°. I've mainly been driving around for work then picking ds up from him residential.

I'm off next week too! So pleased.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/05/2022 21:13

Breezy sunny day here too. , I got a couple of washing loads dry .
We've crammed everything from our bedroom into the little bedroom (aka Junk Room) so cannot get into it until the new wardrobes are delivered .
Bank Holiday weekend will be taken up with assembling and arranging but hopefully a sense of Things Getting Done

I was awake from 2am with the most hideous pain in my side , I was imaging something blocked , or ruptured or tortioned .
Decided to try and sleep through it ( it worked with DD labour , I dozed for most of it ) . Kept thinking "Shit if this doesn't let up do I have to go to A&E^ ?
My IBS has been really narking me this past week , might be ime to contact the GP and get referred for another colonoscopsy .

DH knows if I prod him during the night he has to get me painkillers , anti spasm meds and a bucket !

Washing out and another load in the machine

NoWordForFluffy · 28/05/2022 08:51

Morning!

Lovely and sunny here. ☀️

I need to go into town for some bits and pieces, such as bird food and cleaning stuff. Pay day shopping! I also need to go into Waterstones to get a gift card for DD's birthday. 70, is it your DD's birthday in June as well?

We've got baby sparrows visiting us now. The word has got out about us feeding birds, as we're getting loads of sparrows plus occasional goldfinches as well. Considering we feed them right next to the house, so close to us, it's amazing!

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 28/05/2022 09:00

DD's is in June as is mine. I've got her main present being delivered today, just hope she's too engrossed in stranger things to ask what the delivery is...

Lovely and sunny here too, haven't got any washing out yet but have one load on. It's not as warm as yesterday and next week looks unsettled which is annoying.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/05/2022 10:23

Ah yes Fluffy
My DD
My SIL
My DSis
Miine

Lots of June Birthdays here Xmas Grin

Wreck my DH is watching Stranger Things (Series 4) it is a weird series !
No spoilers ( I don't know what the Jeff is going on with it anyway) but it skips from a high school Mean Girl to soldiers in snow to a scientist with a load of youths with Numbers for names .
I cannot begin to fathom.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/05/2022 10:27

We had two woodpeckers last week (male+female judging by the plumage)
I saw our malecat Stealth Panthering up the lawn and yelled at him Don't You Bloody DARE .
He was Xmas Shock but stopped and the birds flew .
Little git is fed 2xday+ Dreamies so not starved (but still thinks he's wild)

WreckTangled · 28/05/2022 10:29

70 dd is on episode 6. I too have no idea what's going on, what's present/past etc Confused apparently the last episode is 2.5 hours long!

NoWordForFluffy · 28/05/2022 15:32

Eek. We just booked a holiday in Crete for October '23! 5 nights all inclusive. Wasn't hideously expensive either in the scheme of things.
