They did write to me this time, that's the only reason I know it needs renewing. If I can find my passport, I can use that to renew, and stay looking in my 20s for another decade Grin

Managed another hour pulling up thistles this afternoon. We've set up a WhatsApp group for the allotment now, and one of the ladies was offering wild garlic, so I've got some of that in, and am trying to transplant some alpine strawberries from home. Think it's harder to kill than cockroaches, so I have high hopes, and I'm hoping it'll replace some of the grass under the fruit trees, make that area more productive. I'd be happy if it wasn't for the thistles...

Need to order some manure now. Apparently a local farmer will deliver rotted pig poo. Anyone any experience?

I think Fluffy gets manure for the allotment so she may be able to help Firefly

No news here. Spent yesterday cleaning and sorting ahead of my friend coming to stay this afternoon so I barely left the house.

Plan is to work until 3:30, friend (and her dd) should arrive, walk dog, natter, out for tea, home, more nattering, her dd into bed, open wine and have a proper catch up. Im looking forward to it, she only lives an hour away but we always leave it too long between meet ups.

FireflyGirl · 11/04/2022 11:41

That sounds lovely, crazy.

I've just realised why Fluffy didn't want to talk pig poo with me last night! And why nobody was on doing the countdown at crazy-o-clock 🤣 How's your trip going, Fluffy?

NoWordForFluffy · 11/04/2022 12:55

Afternoon!

I'm here! 🤣🤣 It was touch and go, however. 🤢

Re poo, I've only used horse and chicken manure. Surely rotted pig poo is fine? Does he drop it off for free, Firefly?

The trip is going well, Crazy. I think my mum is shrinking though, as DD is as tall as her (I was the same age when I caught her up though, to be fair!).

We're on the way home now. I think I'll sleep well tonight!

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 11/04/2022 14:05

Erm, what have the pigs been fed on?🤔

NoWordForFluffy · 11/04/2022 14:29

We saw some pigs yesterday! 🐷

Pigs eat most stuff including humans don't they?

OP posts:
pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 11/04/2022 15:43

Are they Tamworths?
Pigs will eat meat and humans and their 💩 really really stinks.
I'd stick with horse💩 it's so much sweeter.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/04/2022 15:45

There was no sign, but I reckon they are Tamworths.

Maybe avoid fresh pig poo. Rotted poo doesn't smell at all.

OP posts:
FireflyGirl · 11/04/2022 16:37

It's rotted, plot neighbour had it on their plot and no pong, and she said that he has it in a corner of his field rotting down. Not free, unfortunately, but local, so better for the environment than something I'd have to order from further away.

The other alternative is I just order compost.

I don't know or understand cubic tons/barrow loads to know which is better value 🤷

nerosnewfiddle · 11/04/2022 19:38

I was reading a book about mafia/gangs and that's how they disposed of the bodies. Fed them to the pigs.

FireflyGirl · 11/04/2022 20:29

Well, we've no more patios planned on the thread so we've had to come up with a new way of disposing of annoying DHs... Wink

ConstantlyCooking · 11/04/2022 22:50

Fluffy-you've just reminded me I need to renew my passport! I bought some chilli seeds in Wilko and will get planting.
I managed to see the go and have been referred for tests for long covid :(
On the plus side I watch a CCF with mince pies and a chai latte yesterday afternoon.
Perfection! (Although the film was set in a one of the sunny states and I really wanted snow). Spent today dodging work calls but got caught by a zoom at 5.30!

Morning!

We have our washing on the line, to be brought in when we get up. The only suitable drying time was overnight, as it was also relatively windy whilst dry. The rain was thankfully pushed back from 6am to 9am before we went to bed and it's currently 10am. Plenty of time to get it in!

Housework day today, get the house sorted before our trip to Scotland.

Good morning! I am planning a trip to the gym/the first in a while because of non- stop colds and chest infections. Wish me luck Smile

WreckTangled · 12/04/2022 09:54

Good luck at the gym constantly sorry to hear you're still suffering.

I've got a uni day today but self study as it's the Easter holidays. Ds is at holiday club and dd is still asleep Shock I'm just baking some low carb cookies then I need to fold the washing and get on with some work.

Dh is obviously working today then when he's finished he's going to another job... so he won't be home until it's dark I expect.

NoWordForFluffy · 12/04/2022 10:03

I got the washing in...rain started about 20 minutes after!

I'm going to make my mincemeat now, as Sainsbury's has just delivered the ingredients. I'm then going to make muffins and brownie for the kids. Then I'll clean the kitchen (I did the fridge before putting the shopping away).

I may have also bought another bottle of Bailey's with Nectar points, to go with the one which Woolly kindly picked up for me in Tesco! So that's two in the Christmas stash, along with the wine we got the other week. Xmas Grin

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 12/04/2022 11:31

My cookies were a disaster. So annoying, have to throw them out.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 12/04/2022 11:45

Morning (just about) Grin
DH couldn't sleep again so we were up by 4...he was at Tesco before they opened at 6 because He finished off the bread last night🤷‍♀️
We've spent most of the morning tidying/emptying the garage in prep for replacing the door. Just had lunch and washed up...so if you hear snoring this afternoon - it's definitely me 😴🤦‍♀️
fluffy how long does baileys last? I've 2 unopened that I found today from last year. 😱😹 I'm ashamed, frankly, as I thought I knew where all the alcohol was 🤣
I delayed buying spuds to chit, so there are some "charlotte" and some "jazzy" currently purpley black with some v small sprouty bits reclining in egg boxes in the conservatory. I need the sun to make an appearance them to get a move on, so I can get them planted.
We need to paint the wall in the office, apparently. The step ladder because we've been in the loft a fair bit has left some tiny marks on it, and it's driving DH nuts I don't really pay that much attention 😹
I also need DH to sow his carrots too.
Possibly jobs for the weekend...while I have a nap...

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 12/04/2022 12:01

Wreck couldn't they be smashed up and sprinkled on ice cream for pud?

NoWordForFluffy · 12/04/2022 12:02

The bottle from Tesco is BBE Dec 23. Can't locate the Sainsbury's one for now. Yours will be fine!

My mincemeat is happily simmering away on the hob. It smells amazing!

WreckTangled · 12/04/2022 12:03

@pussycatunpickingcrossesagain

Wreck couldn't they be smashed up and sprinkled on ice cream for pud?
No they're too eggy 🤮 thought I'd swap out the one large egg for two of the smallest medium ones I could find. It was a mistake.
CrazyBaubles · 12/04/2022 12:25

puss our weekend plans sound similar - I have nicely possibly over chitted potatoes and some carrot seeds I'll be planting / sowing on whichever day has decent weather.

Shame about the cookies Wreck

Jealous of the smell of your house Fluffy. I have a 'Christmas Eve' scented candle burning on the landing though which is quite nice.

I barely slept thanks to friends over excited dd and ddog deciding to wake me up as soon as I nodded off again at 2am by making sick noises.
Going to get work out of the way, walk ddog, unload and reload the dishwasher then spend my evening cross stitching and watching something cosy - possible a CCF Xmas Smile

Morning!

We are getting ready to leave and go to Scotland. Obviously, the kids have already had an argument. 🙄 They're very annoying.

The weather seems unsure as to what it's doing. Its meant to be dry, however.

OP posts:
pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 13/04/2022 11:19

Fluffy can you tether them at the allotment...? 🤷‍♀️ Leave them to forage for a day or three? 🤔🤣

DH started painting a bit of fence at 9 after moving the plastic store and it's contents then it rained...still raining now.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/04/2022 14:48

I succumbed and the children were allowed to come! 🤣🤣

We've had a stop off at Lowther Castle and are now on leg 2 of the journey. It's dry here, thankfully.
