Bonkers Santa request

My nearly 3yo DS has announced that the present he wants most of all from Santa is binbags 🤦🏼‍♀️ apparently it's 'the best present for me mummy!' and he wants them to put rubbish in. It's been a non-stop stream of excited binbag-related babble all morning. Wish he could have decided something that isn't a suffocation risk 🤦🏼‍♀️ has anyone else had any outlandish last-minute requests?

Due to watching murder she wrote DS requested and thanks to Freecycle got a typewriter one year. He loved it. I adore their random present request.

Eldest DD asked for an owl one year after becoming obsessed with Labyrinth. One year DS wanted 'a real saw like grandads'. Surprisingly neither request was granted by Santa.

This year 2yo asked for 'a packet of ghosts' which Santa was able to source and wrap for his stocking. Anyone care to take a wild guess at what a packet of ghosts is? Xmas Grin

My 7 year old has asked for a coconut Confused so I have wrapped him up a big hairy coconut 😂

If it's what I think it is, DS also enjoys a good packet of ghosts 😆

@flamedancer

My son has a massive thing about car air fresheners (ASD) he gets car air fresheners with his other gifts every year, and is always over the moon 😂 I hope the bin bags make your little one very happy. Merry Christmas OP :)
Flame dancer, ds also autistic, has my old one from the car and hangs them on his bedroom door handle, he has about 50 in his collection!!

A sibling and a hovercraft

Emelene · 24/12/2021 13:50

Thankfully my 3 year old has just requested “lots of toys”. I’m worried she’s going to announce a random request at the last minute!

She did however merrily tell grandma yesterday that her favourite character in Toy Story is Woody - it has been Jessie consistently since she’s seen the movies months ago. Hoping the Jessie doll is not a disappointment! Confused

Marshmallows?

9 year old DS has asked for a tin of shortbread and world peace this year. I've managed the shortbread.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 24/12/2021 13:54

When my youngest was small she said she was saving her pocket money to buy a shoehorn

Redcrayons · 24/12/2021 13:56

@3peassuit

I remember DD1 at 5 years old asking Father Christmas for rubber bands. 30 years later she wanted a sofa.
DS wanted a rubber band ball, not sure where he has seen it. My dad spent a month making one the size of a small football for him.
tinofbeans · 24/12/2021 13:57

DS has asked for a pick-axe for Christmas... he's getting a geologists hammer and chisel set 😁

BewareTheRedNosedDragon · 24/12/2021 13:58

One of mine once asked for rubber gloves 🧤

polkadotpixie · 24/12/2021 14:02

3 year old DS has specifically requested a lump of coal 😂

Rathmobhaile · 24/12/2021 14:03

My friends daughter asked for a particular page of a toy catalogue. She meant of course all the toys on that page. Santa brought the page of the catalogue. Laminated.

My 10yo asked for a pet chicken. She isn't getting one.
My son would also love a pet chicken 😂. I’ve got him a hen teddy x
CatrinVennastin · 24/12/2021 14:09

My friend’s DS asked for a step ladder when he was 4.

Her DP bought him one of those mini ladder things with two steps (that you would use in a kitchen type things).

He spent most of Xmas morning folding and unfolding this ladder. Best present ever!

Blackberrybunnet · 24/12/2021 14:12

My son once asked for a "rap'-tout" - it was a vegetable peeler he'd seen on some French advert that peeled potatoes and cut them into chips in one swipe, but best of all (he claimed) it could peel an egg and chop it up for egg mayonnaise. It wasn't even electric! He didn't get it - my bad.

@chris8888

My little grand daughter wants a garden - she lives in a flat. keeps asking me to remind Santa to get her a garden! :(
Could she have a terrarium or a bottle garden?

@Dresslover1950s

Have you got any primula cheese in a round box? Or any round cardboard box?

If you put a strip of paper round the box, or the lid, that makes the skirt. Make a hole and put a toilet roll middle through it, angle the toilet roll middle and blow down it, you have a working hovercraft.

If you do the same with the lid you have two that can be raced.

Dorismargaret · 24/12/2021 14:34

@flamedancer aw I wonder if he'll like scented candles and/or Incense sticks when he's older.

GiftWrappingLikeItsXmasEve · 24/12/2021 14:53

Crackers aged 3, went on for weeks before Christmas, when he “met” Santa he was asked what he wanted.
DS “crackers”
Santa “like Christmas crackers?”
DS “no, just crackers”

And he was delighted to open a jacobs selection box on Christmas morning.

He is often quite specific, wanted a hat with “Diego” on it one year, a red car that goes forward if you press a button on top - not a remote control car - had to be a button. So crackers was quite easy in retrospect.

This year he literally wrote “thank you for my presents last year. This year can I have anything at all, happy Christmas, DS”

whywouldntyou · 24/12/2021 15:03

@Sherrytriflestrull

One year my ds wanted a chicken. We got him a little soft toy chicken and he was over the moon!
We had this, only he wanted a big one. This was about 20 years ago and it was hell trying to find one. Finally got one off eBay. He still has it 🙂
Gtfcovid · 24/12/2021 15:05

My then 3year old DD2 wanted “scissors in a box” one year. We had got my niece a manicure set that Christmas so I think that was what she was after. She didn’t get a manicure set - too many point bits but Santa did bring a pair of children’s scissors in a box!

SumAndSubstance · 24/12/2021 15:09

Starting to think he is the ghost of a victorian child.
Mine too! My 4yo wants a teddy bear, a board game and a shirt 😂

noodlezoodle · 24/12/2021 15:18

As well as this thread being amazing, I now HAVE to know more about the comfort potato. I think I might need one. @stilldumdedumming please put me out of my misery!
