Bonkers Santa request

shreddednips · 24/12/2021 11:01

My nearly 3yo DS has announced that the present he wants most of all from Santa is binbags 🤦🏼‍♀️ apparently it's 'the best present for me mummy!' and he wants them to put rubbish in. It's been a non-stop stream of excited binbag-related babble all morning. Wish he could have decided something that isn't a suffocation risk 🤦🏼‍♀️ has anyone else had any outlandish last-minute requests?

I remember DD1 at 5 years old asking Father Christmas for rubber bands. 30 years later she wanted a sofa.

Theunamedcat · 24/12/2021 12:06

Apple peeler/corer and he has asked for a litter picker so he can save the ocean the school allow him to watch YouTube videos due to his asd etc he has such a small (non existant) attention span this was clearly the eco channel he watches 🤣

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 24/12/2021 12:09

It doesn't get any less bonkers as they get older, DD aged 13 has asked for Tom Holland for Christmas. Hmm

firstimemamma · 24/12/2021 12:10

My 3 year old son is obsessed with all things dustbin lorry related so I'm surprised he hasn't asked for this!

hiredandsqueak · 24/12/2021 12:12

Dgs is getting a gift wrapped potato as he is so excited to be playing hide the potato with us all like Roly off of Hey Duggee.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 24/12/2021 12:13

For balance I've asked my adult DD for a vegetable rack. Grin

ancientgran · 24/12/2021 12:13

chris8888 · 24/12/2021 12:16

My little grand daughter wants a garden - she lives in a flat. keeps asking me to remind Santa to get her a garden! :(

RosieLemonade · 24/12/2021 12:18

DD has asked for an exercise bike and treadmill. She's 4.

BlueyandBingo · 24/12/2021 12:18

A couple of years ago my dd wanted blu tack for Christmas, she went on and on about it to the point we went to see Father Christmas at a very well known department store in london. The other girl sat with us told the elves she wanted ‘another pony’, DD kept it real and asked for blu tack!! I didn’t know whether to cringe as we sounded so tight or to be proud that she wasnt a spoilt princess Xmas Grin

DD, also nearly 3, asked for a bus and a plane yesterday. I said you have a bus darling and she said: “No mummy, a real bus. And a real plane with two ladies in it” (think she means air hostesses).

I think DD basically wants to go on holiday 🤣

whatwasIgoingtosay · 24/12/2021 12:21

When DD was 3 she casually announced on Xmas Eve, "I've asked Father Christmas to bring me a golden angel". I was coming down with a serious bout of flu and running a fever, but thought I would just nip out to some cheap shops and it would be easy to find a plastic angel tree decoration somewhere. We lived overseas and I hadn't realised that the shops clear their Xmas tat on Xmas Eve and bring out the sales stuff, so there wasn't a golden angel to be found anywhere. In desperation, and no longer thinking clearly, I spotted in the window of an upmarket home decor store a huge, and very ugly ceramic golden angel - at a huge price. I rushed in, paid the ransom, and got home to collapse in bed. In the morning DD was delighted that Santa had brought the angel. I still have it on a high shelf in my office (far too expensive to throw or give away) and smile when I look at it. It was the most expensive present DD got that year and I remind her of it often!

My 31 year old son is severely autistic and this year has asked for a zebra fancy dress outfit. I have no idea why. He’s also asked for a packet of polar bear cake mix. Again, I’ve no idea why.

Finding the very big Tv he also wants was a doddle compared to those other two things but I did manage in the end.

Roll on tomorrow and why he wanted the zebra outfit.

I don’t know whether I’m excited or terrified.

When my DS was 5 or 6 he asked Santa for a villa with a pool in Spain (we'd been on holiday to one the previous summer. Fortunately we were able to arrange for Santa to send him a letter saying that he didn't think he'd be able to bring that but would bring some other lovely things instead! We regularly remind DS of this - he's 25 now!

@momonpurpose

My nephew one year asked for a block of cheese just for him. He was four. We all still remind him of this at 15
This is my wish too. I'm 44

Aldi had a very sweet little wooden flower garden in when I was last there. I know that it's not a real garden but maybe it would be a nice stand in @chris8888
Sherrytriflestrull · 24/12/2021 12:33

One year my ds wanted a chicken. We got him a little soft toy chicken and he was over the moon!

WithRosesAroundTheDoor · 24/12/2021 12:36

My 5 year old has also asked for blue-tac and cellotape this year.
Oh and a real sweet shop. Confused

Merry Christmas to all, thank you for all these lovely stories. They've perked up a rather labour-intensive day 😆 I've purchased a roll of 15 heavy-duty refuse sacks, hopefully he will be pleased!

Nothing odd ball but my 3 year old has asked for 'wonky donky books and a Christmas bear.

Starting to think he is the ghost of a victorian child.

Mybalconyiscracking · 24/12/2021 12:40

My two year old asked for Weetabix,
This was the same year that her 5 year-old cousin would only say mysteriously “Ah, you’ll see!”
Cue parental nightmare!

Bellsandsnow · 24/12/2021 12:50

These threads are so cute! 😍 wish my son had asked for this.

almostforgotitwastwilight · 24/12/2021 12:52

Mine has asked for a real owl. The disappointment tomorrow is going to be real 😂
