We were supposed to be at my mums tomorrow, but I have Covid (asymptomatic) so we can't go...inspire me with what you are having for your tea please Xmas Smile

I have an 8 and a 10 year old, not overly fussy, and will have time to cook now we aren't going anywhere!

@MintJulia I was about to say the exact same thing, pretty much word for word, in fact I had to double check I hadn’t already posted and forgotten about it!! Ha! Hope everyone enjoys their 🍕 pizzas 😊

PurpleFlower1983 · 23/12/2021 22:18

We’re going out - cheap and cheerful Harvester!

Youhaveyourhandsfull · 23/12/2021 22:24

Take away pizza here too. Plenty of cooking over the holidays to really not want to do anything on Xmas Eve.

ItsSunnyOutside · 23/12/2021 22:30

We're cooking a small ham (slow cooker) and having warm baguettes with ham and chutney.
Not normally a tea we'd have but really fancied it!

Gilly12345 · 23/12/2021 22:58

Bacon sandwiches for lunch and takeaway for tea, chicken Shish kebabs.

Worriedgranmasmithy · 23/12/2021 22:59

Roast Ham, dauphinois potatoes and green beans, followed by apple pie and custard.

8Track · 23/12/2021 23:00

Bockwurst, potato salad and sauerkraut.

Washed down with some Christmas German bier!

CaputApriDefero · 23/12/2021 23:02

Tomorrow is my birthday. I always say I'm not cooking and DH needs to. 100% sure it will be a hastily ordered pizza after he realises he's left it too late to cook!

LadyRoughDiamond · 23/12/2021 23:10

Always fish pie on Xmas Eve - I think it goes back to the stargazy pie tradition but has sort of evolved into trad fish pie with prawns and cheesy mash.

Geekgirlmum · 23/12/2021 23:12

We're making Korean BBQ - beef bulgogi, pajeon, spring onion and egg rice, grilled mushrooms and broccoli followed by my mom's frozen chocolate parfait. We have done many different things for Christmas Eve before like fondue but DD asked for Korean BBQ

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 23/12/2021 23:15

I usually do stir fry of some kind on Christmas Eve.

Timeisavirtue · 23/12/2021 23:17

Chinese takeaway for me DP and kids, then I’ve got to pop down the Indian after to pick my mum up something for when she finishes work. ( she doesn’t eat Chinese as it alWays messes with her Ibs)

gogohm · 23/12/2021 23:19

@Babdoc

I'm from London and I use tea to mean a casual meal for the family early evening

fallhappy1 · 23/12/2021 23:35

We usually have a take out as a treat and to save up on washing up but we've opted for cheese, Crackers, Continental meats and chutney this year and some chocolate.

WouldBeGood · 23/12/2021 23:36

Ramen at the request of DS13

Belledan1 · 23/12/2021 23:49

We are having mini fish and chips for lunch from chippy them just some crackers on night.

Agadorsparticus · 23/12/2021 23:52

Slow cooked pulled pork. We're out visiting all day and I want it all ready for when we get back for an easy tea. Also, my brother is staying from the Middle East and I know he'll have missed eating pork so its a treat for him.

Marimaur · 24/12/2021 00:11

Vegan spaghetti bolognese - the ‘meat’ is puy lentils. With triocolore spaghetti because my 3 year old loves it.

TheCatShatInTheHat · 24/12/2021 00:20

No idea and no traditions here.

Looking at the fridge, maybe chicken and bacon salad.

JackieWeaversZoomAc · 24/12/2021 00:29

We are having nachos for dinner followed by fancy M&S globe smash cake. And bubbles.

RestingPandaFace · 24/12/2021 00:47

Frozen Itsu gyoza. In different flavours. DS’s favourite food!

IamGusFring · 24/12/2021 01:18

Party food from Sainsburys this year .

GettingStuffed · 24/12/2021 06:38

We're having top it yourself pizza

diddl · 24/12/2021 09:43

@GettingStuffed

We're having top it yourself pizza
Initially read that as "up yourself" pizza!BlushGrin
HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 24/12/2021 09:47

I thought it said top yourself pizza! Bit morbid...
