Christmas Eve tea

We were supposed to be at my mums tomorrow, but I have Covid (asymptomatic) so we can't go...inspire me with what you are having for your tea please

I have an 8 and a 10 year old, not overly fussy, and will have time to cook now we aren't going anywhere!

@MintJulia I was about to say the exact same thing, pretty much word for word, in fact I had to double check I hadn’t already posted and forgotten about it!! Ha! Hope everyone enjoys their 🍕 pizzas 😊

Take away pizza here too. Plenty of cooking over the holidays to really not want to do anything on Xmas Eve.

We're cooking a small ham (slow cooker) and having warm baguettes with ham and chutney.
Not normally a tea we'd have but really fancied it!

Bacon sandwiches for lunch and takeaway for tea, chicken Shish kebabs.

Roast Ham, dauphinois potatoes and green beans, followed by apple pie and custard.

Bockwurst, potato salad and sauerkraut.

Washed down with some Christmas German bier!

Tomorrow is my birthday. I always say I'm not cooking and DH needs to. 100% sure it will be a hastily ordered pizza after he realises he's left it too late to cook!

Always fish pie on Xmas Eve - I think it goes back to the stargazy pie tradition but has sort of evolved into trad fish pie with prawns and cheesy mash.

We're making Korean BBQ - beef bulgogi, pajeon, spring onion and egg rice, grilled mushrooms and broccoli followed by my mom's frozen chocolate parfait. We have done many different things for Christmas Eve before like fondue but DD asked for Korean BBQ

I usually do stir fry of some kind on Christmas Eve.

Chinese takeaway for me DP and kids, then I’ve got to pop down the Indian after to pick my mum up something for when she finishes work. ( she doesn’t eat Chinese as it alWays messes with her Ibs)

I'm from London and I use tea to mean a casual meal for the family early evening

We usually have a take out as a treat and to save up on washing up but we've opted for cheese, Crackers, Continental meats and chutney this year and some chocolate.

Ramen at the request of DS13

We are having mini fish and chips for lunch from chippy them just some crackers on night.

Slow cooked pulled pork. We're out visiting all day and I want it all ready for when we get back for an easy tea. Also, my brother is staying from the Middle East and I know he'll have missed eating pork so its a treat for him.

Vegan spaghetti bolognese - the ‘meat’ is puy lentils. With triocolore spaghetti because my 3 year old loves it.

No idea and no traditions here.

Looking at the fridge, maybe chicken and bacon salad.

We are having nachos for dinner followed by fancy M&S globe smash cake. And bubbles.

Frozen Itsu gyoza. In different flavours. DS’s favourite food!
