Christmas Eve tea

We were supposed to be at my mums tomorrow, but I have Covid (asymptomatic) so we can't go...inspire me with what you are having for your tea please

I have an 8 and a 10 year old, not overly fussy, and will have time to cook now we aren't going anywhere!

We are having sticky ribs, fries and cobettes, followed by tesco chocolate orange mousse flower pots that were on delivery earlier. Only takes about 30 mins (ribs pre done by tesco), and kids shouldn't fuss.

And pizza and film tonight - prob home alone or elf

Fajitas and tacos.

We always have a takeaway curry on Christmas eve

I make everything from scratch for Christmas day including bread, pâté, desserts etc so Christmas eve needs to be easy as I am usually elbow deep in prep work

Fish and chips

Mixture of party food: duck spring rolls, oriental snack mix with dip, prawn crackers, pigs in blankets, cheese pizza

We have a very naff custom of having loads of M&S party food and cocktails.

Meat and cheese board is our tradition 😁

DH is making beef this year and we have loads of yummy cheeses, crisps and crackers... delish! 😁

Buffet/picnic type food in front of the TV whilst watching a Christmas film. Perfect!

Takeaway curry for us! We usually spend Christmas with family and have corned beef hash, but we’re isolating this year too

Takeaway pizza for us, always is our tea on Christmas Eve. No washing up and leftovers for Christmas night buffet.

We usually pile into the local Indian restaurant after church but this year, not wanting to jeopardise our New Year plans, we will have a take-away.

We always have fish Christmas Eve. Providing Waitrose has some we will be having Monk Fish with a tomato, ginger and garlic sauce with tender stem broccoli and green beans, with garlic bread.

Spaghetti Bolognese with garlic bread and salad. It's smallhumans favourite meal, my parents and PIL arrive mid afternoon on Xmas Eve so she's going to be giddy with excitement. Good old spag bol will get devoured by her no matter what the mood and it's easy to scale up for folk. Plus a small portion with plenty of salad doesn't feel too heavy for the even before Xmas.

We’re getting a takeaway as it’s a family birthday - we have for several years now as it saves on cooking and washing up!

We have a buffet of frozen food! All very beige and not healthy but delicious! I always include some salad to make me feel better but it isn’t super popular!

Not even going to trouble you for the recipe if you made it, as it'll only good in with the others with good intentions🤣

I'm making a curry and we'll have lots of side dishes and naan bread ready made. Ice cream and choice of ready made desserts. Nice and easy and kind of lazy, but I'm trying to make it a bit special because one of the family is working Christmas day (police) otherwise we would have a takeaway or maybe even cheese and biscuits!

I cook the Christmas ham on Christmas Eve so we have some of that with egg and chips

Christmas Eve is either picky bits or take away !
I just want to slouch in my pjs before the madness begins
