I haven’t seen a thread yet and it’s becoming somewhat of a tradition to be nosey and look in MNetters Xmas fridges.

Here’s mine, booze is in the garage!

@Oliack1417 wow, that's incredible!! Look at all that beautiful food. The salmon in particular looks delicious. What a wonderful gift, enjoy!
@Moaningturtle Great idea for a thread, very uplifting! Xmas Smile

LH1987 · 23/12/2021 10:22

To reassure all those concerned, I have removed the bananas from the fridge Grin

Potatoes are staying in though!

Soybean31 · 23/12/2021 10:25

@kawa - love that you've gone for a dark chocolate Terry's orange. Good taste! Wink

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 23/12/2021 10:27

DH is currently playing fridge jenga trying to get everything in and we haven't picked up our meat hamper yet! We actually keep christmas really simple but I'm hoping to not go shopping until st least 28th so we are stocking up.

We have got all the veg in the porch and the red wine warming in the boot room we live in a beautiful but draughty 200 year old house and the boot room is tge warmest room hence red wine in there!

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 23/12/2021 10:28

I have 4! One is the size of a coffin and full of drinks, soft and alcoholic. It also has a giant turkey crown . One is fruit and veg, sausage meat, soup, packaged party food, also one cooked turkey crown awaiting carving and freezing for turkey sandwiches for the next few months. The third is the everyday fridge with cheese, yoghurt, milk, cream, salad, condiments etc and the fourth is the overflow Christmas drinks fridge. That has the makings of dry martinis and negronis so is probably my favourite fridge.

I hate clutter and the overcrowdedness of everything annoys me everyone I open a fridge door. Although I love Christmas and having a full house I am also looking forward to the NY when things will get back to normal.

Staryflight445 · 23/12/2021 10:28

Wow that’s lovely @Oliack1417

DrunkenKoala · 23/12/2021 10:28

I have just watched this and what an amazing set up ! This will be our Christmas charity donation this year .

beastlyslumber · 23/12/2021 10:29

Cannot believe that posters have turned up to fridge-shame people again! Could you let people enjoy their celebrations, please!

(I am, however, fully in favour of shaming those who keep eggs in their fridges. That's just not right.)

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 23/12/2021 10:30

It’s really quite tedious. As if they’re the only ones who understand, have lived with or are otherwise fully aware of poverty. 🙄🙄

bilbodog · 23/12/2021 10:30

LURPAK and DOUBLE CREAM - guys its christmas! For baking, anointing the turkey and vegetables, and cream for meringues, trifle and sauce for sticky toffee pudding 😜😜

PriamFarrl · 23/12/2021 10:40

The Waitrose man (who happens to be a friend) has been. Pantry and fridge. (The milk in the bottle is oat milk, it’s not off.

No one knows how hard people have worked or saved to get these fridges filled for Christmas . Enjoy your fridges everyone 😁

@FortunesFave

I am sharing the video again because nobody will see it as it's at the very end of the previous page.

Please think about donating to causes like this.

@FortunesFave thanks for sharing. Powerful and thought provoking
Tillsforthrills · 23/12/2021 10:50

Those turning up to shit on everyone’s parade just go away. You have no idea what’s going on in peoples lives and a stacked fridge means nothing, you don’t know what people may have dealt with this year and if this lighthearted thread gives a bit of cheer then that’s fine.

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 23/12/2021 10:53

Worthy, self-righteous, virtue signalling nonsense. Just stop it.

MrsMcCluskeysChristmasTree · 23/12/2021 10:56

Shopping done and fridge full, just need to grab some more milk tomorrow as we were supposed to be going to DB's so I cancelled our milk delivery's and it's too late to change it again. Also yes we have eggs in the fridge, it's a long standing battle in this house as I would prefer to keep them in the cupboard but I am outnumbered!

Alcohol is currently in a cool bag in the garden and will be transferred to the fridge on Xmas morning once the turkey is out and the bottom shelf is free.

I second @FortunesFave on the Amazing graze suggestion, they truly are a wonderful charity so if anyone is still wondering who to make a Christmas donation to then these are them! I don't have loads of money to spare each month but these along with the RNLI and another fab charity in Blackpool are who I make sure I make regular donations too.

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 23/12/2021 10:59

I’m sure we’re all well aware of what charities operate near to us or what national charities we want to support. Are you implying that because people have full fridges that they’re too stupid or selfish to have a social conscience? FGS.

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 23/12/2021 11:00

I wish people would stop pandering to the policing of this thread by justifying their food. It’s nobody’s business whether or not you do or don’t donate and you don’t need anyone’s permission to show a photo of your food.

Absolutely. There's no need to justify or explain yourself. Don't let anyone make you ashamed of your fridge!

Humans in this part of the world have celebrated in the midwinter for as long as we know. Feasting and drinking are part of the natural rhythm of human life. Let's enjoy it and stop acting like there's anything to be ashamed of.

MrsMcCluskeysChristmasTree · 23/12/2021 11:12

If this is aimed at me then no I don't think people are too stupid or selfish to have a conscience, not sure where you got that idea from Hmm

I've donated to a few charities over the years that I have only come to know about thanks MN as they are local initiatives, so it was just a suggestion in case anyone was interested! Fwiw I completely disagree with everything else that poster was saying and was going to start this thread today myself but OP thankfully beat me too it!

MrsMcCluskeysChristmasTree · 23/12/2021 11:14

Also I apologise if I have made anyone feel ashamed, I was just trying to make a point that Amazing graze are a great charity Smile I don't think anyone else should have to justify what is in there fridge.

Greenrubber · 23/12/2021 11:20

@LH1987

Don't worry about bananas in the fridge

I tested this out a few months ago and it's only the skin that is effected by the cold the bananas stay absolutely fine and even last a couple days longer

I put them in the fridge along with ones in the fruit bowl and a few with tinfoil around the top

The fridge ones although they looked horrific were the fresher ones

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 23/12/2021 11:20

Aimed at those who think they need to tell the rest of us where we could or should be directing our charitable donations to. One suggestion on the thread was just about bearable but really it’s enough now. I’m not in need of lecturing, ‘suggestions’ or otherwise being nudged toward helping others. It’s rude, obnoxious and distasteful. I’m perfectly capable of self-directed human kindness, charitable work and/or donation, and I resent that this thread, which could have just been a lovely, fun, relaxing and chilled (see what I did there??) thread is being derailed because people just have to constantly make everything about them and how morally superior they want to feel.

(The above rant not aimed at you personally - no ill will meant. I’m just pissed off with these self-appointed moral arbiters who seem to be absolutely everywhere atm. No need.)
