I haven’t seen a thread yet and it’s becoming somewhat of a tradition to be nosey and look in MNetters Xmas fridges.

Here’s mine, booze is in the garage!

@Moaningturtle the shelves were why I bought it! It's a very tall fridge. And the wine rack keeps DHs beers nice and tidy Grin. Not that he fancies any today, bloody rona.

@IamGusFring extremely tidy was the only way everything fits in. Got 2 bags of fresh veg in the boot of my truck to keep cool as no way were they going in.

It is genuinely only that full cos rona tho. Feel sorry for dcs having another Christmas virtually in lockdown. We could in theory go out and about but don't want to risk passing it on if we brewing it so have over compensated with food. And drink.

The drink is piled up in the hall Hmm.

A garage fridge, nice! I have a utility room freezer, but it’s boring and full of bread.

@Kebabandchipsplease

The one thing I have taken from this thread, is that everyone's fridge open backwards Xmas Grin
I moved house in November and this is my new fridge, it’s backwards compared to my old fridge. I’m forever pulling the wrong side Xmas Grin

Mine is rammed. And messy. But it's all in. There is a box of veg in the garage which is cool (no space in fridge!)

Here’s ours.

We’re not hosting, but I bought quite a lot in case we end up isolating Blush

Also, DH likes eggs.

I'm picking up the bird and the assorted butchery items on Christmas Eve so I'll come back with a photo then!

shakingmytinselatyule · 22/12/2021 20:30

Just did the Christmas shop. Am doing turkey and gammon this year Had to take the bottom tray out to fit the turkey in. Have put all the fresh veg in the garage, as no room and had no choice but to eat the apple pie already!
Ps. Love a nosey at people's fridges. Don't know why, but it's good harmless fun.

I do really enjoy these kinda of threads but they make me anxious as well! Things like raw meat stored on the very top shelf, potatoes in the fridge, uncovered cooked food placed on top of raw meat packages etc. I know it's hard to fit everything in sometimes but don't forget your basic food safety rules!

harriethoyle · 22/12/2021 20:35

@Moaningturtle bring your drinking pants, there's a red wine rack above it as well! Grin Wine

SomeLikeItTepid · 22/12/2021 20:35

Good to go (apart from the Christmas Day bird)

My shopping arrives tomorrow, so I'll add a photo then. Yes, I am basically placemarking. Xmas Grin

kittenkipper · 22/12/2021 20:43

@Fridgenomynous

We're hosting this year. Turkey's still in the freezer. As we have a baby, everything is pretty much from the packet (I.e. cauliflower cheese, spiced red cabbage, cranberry sauce, stuffing etc), apart from fresh veg.
Not to be a worry wort, but you need to get the Turkey from the freezer! It takes 2-3 days to fully defrost and should be defrosted in the fridge- www.food.gov.uk/safety-hygiene/christmas-food-hygiene see the food standards agency advice here. One vicious example of food poisoning later I'm now evangelical about defrosting the turkey properly!

I'm shopping tomorrow and will post again then! Love a Christmas fridge thread!

Darningfever · 22/12/2021 20:44

I really need to clean my fridge.

Moaningturtle · 22/12/2021 20:44

I’m curious what’s in the tuppaware on the bottom shelf @SomeLikeItTepid ?

livingthegoodlife · 22/12/2021 20:44

@Moaningturtle the ham is huge. The biggest I've ever bought. I'm cooking it on Christmas Eve. I'm hoping my casserole dish is big enough!

Loving being nosey.

NFLwidow · 22/12/2021 20:45

@LH1987

I love this thread every year. It’s just me, DH and DD (18 months) this year at Christmas. DD will not eat a roast dinner so I plan to do her fish fingers for dinner and DH and I will have a huge cheese and meat platter when she goes to sleep.
Bananas in the fridge??! Is this a thing? I hate bananas so never but them. Very well organised fridge though!
