Looking for inspiration really. I have 4 and 2 yo boys. Both going abit nuts for Christmas this year. Not quite sure what to do them for Christmas day breakfast though that's special but also not going to make them go loopy on sugar. I always have bacon and cream cheese bagel, DH has salmon. Neither of which my boys will eat with gusto. Any suggestions? Dont particularly want to be slaving away cooking on the big day

Santa pancakes!!
I usually make my own during December but Christmas morning I buy premaid ones that just need warming.
Chop strawberries and make his hat shape, with some squirt cream for the rest of the hat and beard and raisins or blueberries for eyes.
Dd who is 4 absolutely loves them 😊

One of those mini variety pack cereal boxes in their stocking.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 14/12/2021 19:32

Selection box.

Aldi tear n share Christmas Tree Brioche 😋

AdoraBell · 14/12/2021 20:40

I would do pancakes, make ahead and either freeze or put in the fridge depending how far in advance you make them, or buy. Add fruit /Nutella/jam/whatever they will eat.

When we went to Disneyland Paris many years ago the 'go-to' buffet breakfast for the DC was those little oval crusty rolls with cubes of cheese and ham or salami. For years the DC thought this was extra special so we had it on Christmas morning with fruit juice for them and coffee for us. I used the part baked rolls for the supermarket that take 8 mins in the oven.
And the stocking satsuma, of course!
Reading the thread it seems you can have whatever you like, it's the routine and the ritual that makes it special. Why not ask your DC what the special Christmas breakfast should be ?

We do boiled eggs, slices of gammon, toast and fresh fruit juice.

FingersofFish · 14/12/2021 21:31

Pannetone or brioche? I'm going to try and make cinnamon buns from A pack the night before but I'll have these for back up!

Ajollyhappysoul · 14/12/2021 21:40

I’m going to attempt this pancake Santa, but Christmas Eve breakfast though, too much going on Xmas day. Xmas day will be smoked salmon and cream cheese on crumpets and saffron buns and cinnamon buns

This year we're having croissants on Christmas Day, fresh orange juice, homemade marmalade/jams. Previously we've had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and DD would have the salmon without the eggs.

christmaspavlova · 14/12/2021 21:43

We will be having our usual breakfasts of toast or cereal.
You could buy a posh jam for their toast?

christmaspavlova · 15/12/2021 09:36

@goose1964

My grandson will have mince pies during present opening followed by brunch of bacon and eggs.

In our house we will all be eating Turkey and roast for breakfast and then coco pops for Xmas lunch

Anoisagusaris · 22/12/2021 20:37

Santa brings Coco Pops so they have them.

Might do sausages and toast a bit later on.

Juanbablo · 22/12/2021 21:05

Mine always have those Jus Rol cinnamon rolls, we also make bacon rolls.

Senorasurf · 22/12/2021 23:54

I saw on here that someone puts the cute little boxes of cereal in their kids stocking as a novelty and they normally choose to eat that for breakfast. Im giving it a go this year and will probably make it a tradition to have mini cereal in stockings but if they aren't keen then it's waffles and cream for us!

CoedenNadolig · 23/12/2021 00:03

My son is strange and has expensive tastes. He likes smoked salmon on a cream cheese bagel for Christmas breakfast. He's 7 😳

But honestly this kid will devour a £6 packet of smoked salmon in one go straight from the fridge so I don't buy it very often or he'd bankrupt me 🤣

Nordicmom · 23/12/2021 00:12

We have smoked salmon bagels for adults , kids put other stuff in them like cheese and ham or salami or whatever , then we have fruit with berries and a selection of little panettones hot drinks and lovely fresh juice . We open stockings before this and used to do rest of the presents after breakfast but now that Mil comes again like last year we eat lunch first before rest of the presents so kids have to wait . In my home country we celebrated on Christmas Eve though so we kids had to wait all long day it was torture !!!!!

Feelingoood · 23/12/2021 00:32

That’s lovely the Santa pancake! Made me smile, thank you!

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 23/12/2021 09:37
