If you had any idea how a distribution / fulfilment cebtre works, those of you saying "I wonder if the items were damaged on purpose" would feel a little sheepish!

@turnthebiglightoff I will freely admit that I have no knowledge whatsoever of how a large distribution centre operates. I have done a lot of online shopping though and don’t think I’ve ever received an order of broken goods (as in totally smashed, not just a little dented) so it seemed strange that so many posters were reporting this happening. Maybe I’ve just been lucky. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I ordered about 25 items, most were recalled by JL when they reached my local depot. 1 parcel made it through, with 2 items in it. I have had some refunds but not all.

All of my purchases have arrived (nearly £190 for £55!) My 6 items all came in separate packaging in separate deliveries!!

I would have complained about the way the final 3 items came if I wasn’t trying to draw attention to my purchase!

I ordered 3 neom diffuser oils - which are about the size of a lipstick and they all came in separate boxes with loads of plastic wrapping.
The boxes were the size of shoeboxes - WTAF JL! How much is that costing you and the environment?

I received a couple of items and the rest has now been refunded. The funny thing is it's the expensive stuff that has been refunded and the cheaper stuff that I received!

@Maharajah20 I collect Emma Bridgewater pottery so I bought about 16 pieces to replace chipped items I already have. They were wedding presents so 14 years old. 2 items were smashed when they arrived. 8 glass tumblers. 8 tea towels.Also lots of Molton Brown gift sets for Christmas presents, Jo Malone bath oil, socks, t shirts, small lego sets, candles, I have now finished Christmas shopping and have done most birthdays for next year. It didn't occur to me to add any food items or gin unfortunately! I ordered at 5.30 last Saturday so it must have been one of the last orders to go through.

I placed an order at 6.15 pm and got everything I ordered except for some wrapping paper which was out of stock. They were all packaged really well (a bit overkill in fact!) so it really seems inconsistent

The rest of my order arrived about 8pm last night. One box a bit mangled but I will have that one!
I can’t believe I didn’t think to go shopping!!
But am happy with the YSL sets and expensive aftershave sets I received.
My order was processed days after the glitch was found out.
John Lewis were obviously happy to let me have my bargains!

I live in Wales and John Lewis have one shop in the whole of Wales, in Cardiff, many miles from me. They are obviously not interested in my regular custom, or many other people who live here so I have no loyalty to them and no issues in using a glitch on their website.

Order arrived yesterday, had been dispatched Wednesday so jl had plenty of time to cancel. Everything well wrapped and made me very favourable to ordering from jl again, glitch or no glitch

Just had a theory. I rang JL customer services a couple of years back, they said they couldn’t help with my order at all as I’d used guest check out. But if I’d created an account, they could do more to help. I wonder if the account orders got recalled but for the guest orders they couldn’t do it?

I received an email telling me that they’ve lost my parcel, but they can replace the 1 perfume I ordered - I ordered 2! And Royal Mail says my parcel will be delivered on Monday, very confused.

I only ordered the 2 perfumes, and did it at 12pm just before the glitch so really bloody hope I get them.

Paid 140 for it all. I didn't know what way the offer was working at the time except it was an amazing deal.

Its really strange!
The last of my parcels was due for delivery on Thursday from DHL.
It wasn't delivered and the tracking now says:
Your consignment has now been returned to the sender. Please contact your sender for further information.
I've not had any communication from John Lewis so not sure whats happening.

I had everything recalled and sent back- boo.

I had sent an email when they changed the status to sender recalled, very nicely stating that their terms and conditions stated that they could cancel for price glitches, but a contract would be seen as accepted when dispatch notices were sent. Well I had 10 dispatch notices, so I see that as accepted!
They have seen the email, sent it to another department, sent it to another department again, and have now ignored me since Tuesday 😂

I have had a refund for everything, I have told them I want the goods instead.
