People need to stop coming on these threads which are asking about logistics and trying to shame posters for something which has already happened.

@Daisy829Yes I’m still expecting that bit to get cancelled too and it’s the bit I really want as didn’t order much! Was a bit panicky as have never ordered anything with a glitchy code before so didn’t think about what I was doing properly and didn’t even order myself a bath oil even though I’ve wanted one for years 🤦🏼‍♀️ If it arrives I think I’ll count my lucky stars and use the savings to buy myself one!

What do you all think I should do about my order?

The ‘track your order’ page says

Delivery on Monday 22 November

Next or named day delivery

Arriving between 7.30am - 6pm

I can’t cancel it because it just gives an error that cancelling isn’t possible as the order is being processed.

I have a feeling if I contact them I’ll be drawing attention to it and they will cancel it, but in the mean time they have £££ of my money held and I’m just sitting here not really knowing what’s happening.

Would you just wait and see or contact them?

Not feeling guilty. Didn’t order loads. Never dawned on me 🤷‍♀️ Just some YSL gift sets that I will give to my daughter for Christmas and my sister will give to hers (I’m sharing the bargains) and we will have a treat each as well. And two aftershave sets that were on my list.

John Lewis did not dispatch the first part of my order until nearly 7pm TUESDAY evening. The rest was after this. I placed my order at around 2pm Saturday afternoon. They had more than enough time to cancel it if they had wanted to do so. Three full days. They were well aware of the glitch when my order was dispatched.

Thanks John Lewis! You have made me very happy 😊

Because I was referring to codes which are meant to shared virally and offer a sensible discount (many retailers offer a new customer discount off first orders and are happy when those codes are shared to other new customers) and not ones retailers intend to be single use and personalised. Clearly I didn't appreciate that pp's were citing the latter code abuse as a justification for this situation.

Anyhoo apparently this thread is only for logistics and not an exploration of morals so I will leave everyone to it.

This thread should be deleted. You knowingly took advantage of a company error, you didn't take advantage of a legitimate code. MNHQ deleted the last thread as it wasn't in the spirit of the site ... this one should go too - how can they work with JL again whilst knowingly allowing their members to discuss openly how they ripped them off?

If you do feel guilty, you could always regift to the food bank or woman’s aid or something rather than returning to John Lewis, or just a couple of things for you and a couple for woman’s aid!

You wouldn’t feel guilty buying them half price in the Boxing Day sales, so no individual has lost out, John Lewis is a huge company that can easily swallow a couple of grands worth of lost stock

Oh @PrawnStars does that make me a charity giver?? I’d keep them if I got anything I wanted but if I felt guilty then I would alleviate the guilt. Or just have a glass of wine and forget about it. But I’m pretty chill Grin

I’ve had half of my order - YSL perfume gift set, YSL mascaras and a electrical diffuser.

Had emails today to indicate the neom oils for the diffuser are on their way by Hermes.

Very strange how they send in separate parcel’s - that must be costing them much more than us glitchers
