Thinking this thread could be used to post a quick list of what you still need to buy on your Christmas Gift list this year and people can maybe point out or offer any bargains / places / where you could get those items reduced.

Still outstanding for me:

  • Minnie Mouse Jumperoo
  • Jo Malone perfume
  • Amazon Kindle x3
  • A stuffed dog teddy

All of them lol it's November

Goneback2school · 19/11/2021 20:49

I made a good start yesterday, took the day to do it and happier now in case of restrictions/ isolating nearer to Christmas.
Still have laptop and stocking fillers- sweet treats mostly to get for DS16.
Still have roller skates, pads and some sweets to get for dd6.
Ds8 hasn't written his Santa letter yet but I think he will be asking for another NERF gun and a video game- will probably get FIFA.
DH and I are getting small gifts for each other with the hope of getting away later in the year so I'm thinking of the Nick Grohl autobiography and the pacman mini console for him.

I had ordered a toy for 18mo nephew but it was out of stock so now looking for something for a ball, vehicle and animal obsessed little man.

Loads still to get. Starting to panic!

EileenGC · 19/11/2021 22:09

I still need to buy for my siblings (late teens) and various friends. Plus a couple of December birthdays, so some of those people need double gifts.

I’ve sorted my parents’ (concert tickets that I bought the minute they went on sale in early Oct), thought I had sorted one of my brothers too but he’s now asked for a completely different concert so will have to see if I can exchange his original ticket.

Another brother is asking for AirPods. That’s not happening.

I then need a variety of hoodies, phone cases, headphones and various tech, subscriptions to Netflix/Spotify and the usual chocolate and sweets.

Thank you to the poster who mentioned USB mug warmers, one of my friends will love that! I have another friend whose gift will be coffee-related, if anyone has any suggestions?

And then a cousin who is amazing at giving gifts and comes up with the most original ideas and I’m never able to match Blush Have already done memory boxes and photo collages, special dressing gown, mugs and stationery but I’m out of ideas this year. She’s recently qualified as a teacher and is in and out of various schools each week, so something she could use for her job would be great!

If you are on Facebook this page has a lot of bargains. I've just bought a tablet for myself from Amazon for £40, I'm really pleased.

Eileen GC is she primary or secondary? At my DCs' primary the teachers all have little aprons for their pens etc (like a tool belt - super practical!). One teacher is newly qualified and apron-less, so the parents are getting her a personalised one as the class gift.

Mix of both actually, specialist subject hence the teaching in various schools…

@Newdad19 when you wrote What are you thinking for teacher gifts this year? We have went for the shower steamers this year I thought you meant an actual steam cleaner for the teacher's shower and was thinking "WTAF" 😦

Then I googled shower steamer 🤣

dustandfluf · 19/11/2021 23:07

All of them.

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 19/11/2021 23:07

Normally I leave shopping until December as I always failed in my intentions to be really organised long in advance and set myself a rule that christmas things wouldn't start until advent.
However due to ridiculous popularity this year I've had to buy DDs present already (horse stuff) as there was very good chance It would be sold out if I didn't.

Holothane · 19/11/2021 23:09

In-laws some a week on Monday then a more fortnight later they’ll be sent directly to them not wrapped but they don’t mind we’ve all cut back this year. They are not coming to see us either so presents will be ordered sent straight to them.

dustandfluf · 19/11/2021 23:10

I might just cancel presents all together this year anyway and spend my money on myself. At least I'd get something I actually want then, instead of the useless tat people usually buy for me.

Thatsplentyjack · 19/11/2021 23:10

Basically everything

Noeuf · 20/11/2021 09:03

Ok I’m down to two limitless passes and two lots of cash ! Got and wrapped everything else, beginning to be like the gringe really.

mam0918 · 20/11/2021 09:31

Still need to grab:

4 DVDs
10 bottles or cans of beer/cider/cocktails
Family board game for the table
3 Annuals for Xmas eve
2 stocking fillers for DH
1 small gift for teens (we take it in turns to open wrapped gifts so need to balance the number)
3 little bits for baby (probably just teethers or hair bows)

So pretty much done for our house, just the little things left.

Still need to buy for FIL and brother + add little extras to parents' gifts.

Other than that everything is sorted except sweets items which I hope to sort tomorrow.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 21/11/2021 04:37

Thanks @Crumblinginside!

doorornottodoor · 21/11/2021 16:28

Any ideas for presents for three teenage boys? We’re away to the sun for Christmas so needs to be lightweight! So far I have aftershave, underwear, socks, a book each. Probably a couple of t shirts. Also maybe snorkelling stuff/goggles.some currency of where we’re going. Struggling! Thanks.

RJnomore1 · 21/11/2021 16:33

I’m looking for a recommendation for whole bean coffee if anyone has one

polkadotpjs · 21/11/2021 19:07
