Thinking this thread could be used to post a quick list of what you still need to buy on your Christmas Gift list this year and people can maybe point out or offer any bargains / places / where you could get those items reduced.

Still outstanding for me:

  • Minnie Mouse Jumperoo
  • Jo Malone perfume
  • Amazon Kindle x3
  • A stuffed dog teddy

I don’t think I have much to get

A velvetiser - getting the subscription so waiting til December to start it
Some lush things - better as close to use as possible
A bottle of mezcal

Some sweets and some coffee and I think that’s it?

Arrowheart · 18/11/2021 18:48

All of them

hellsbells99 · 18/11/2021 18:51

I don’t really do Xmas shopping until December - Although I have bought my sister some Muck Boots and I bought the cats some new toys -which I gave them last night-

Missushbb · 18/11/2021 18:52

Harry potter chamber of secrets lego. so annoyed with myself as i usually buy good offers if i see them and put it away, according to Hot UK deals this set has been as low as £86, up at £129 at the moment

Buddyhobbs · 18/11/2021 18:53

It baffles me too OP when people come onto the Christmas board disapproving of those who want to talk about Christmas.

Looks like 'all of them' is going to be the new 'cancel the check'.

I'm way behind this year. I have an xbox series x for DS, pyjamas and a few stocking fillers for both boys but thats it. I still have to buy for loads of people so keeping an eye on others posts for ideas.

hellsbells99 · 18/11/2021 19:08

Buddyhobbs I am not disapproving! Just saying I don’t really get shopping until December. I wish I had got it all organised really. But just deciding on a couple of days to shop (1 normally with DH) works for me and keeps my stress levels down and spending under control. I do have a list of who I need to buy for and some suggestions

didireallysaythat · 18/11/2021 19:33

Any ideas for DS1(15), DS2(11) and DH1???

Bouledeneige · 18/11/2021 20:27

Every single present

jerometheturnipking · 18/11/2021 20:30

We still need to sort out a couple of small bits for the DC (beano books etc). I need to sort DH and my side of the family. I’m holding off until Black Friday for them.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 18/11/2021 20:36

I haven't done all my shopping but know what I'm getting most people.

Just one couple to buy for. Budget c. £30. They don't need 'stuff', consumables would be ideal but he works for Waitrose so booze or food treats would be a bit of a non-present. Previously, I have given them candles, garden planters, houseplants, restaurant vouchers, cookery books. They aren't cinema or theatre goers, don't play games or do jigsaws.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Bubble54 · 18/11/2021 22:59

Got 2 things ready to buy online nearer the time for my cousin and a teacher and then something for DSIL - she'll give us a list soon no doubt 😂

Struggling with the inlaws - we seem to have given them all the usual things up until now. They're polite and say thank you but I'm never convinced they like what we get! Was going to get them a voucher for afternoon tea but can't find anything available where they live.

My DC 6&8 wrote their (long and funny) first ever Christmas lists this year in October, and so I've bought everything for them as I didn't have to think too much about it 😁 DH never wants anything much but I've got him some bits that I hope he'll like...

I've also finished buying my own gifts...DH made a heroic effort this year to look surprised when I suggested I bought my own!! He gets so stressed shopping bless him 😊

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 18/11/2021 23:13

All of them Sad both dc (age 12 and 15) don’t want anything Shock

BridgetGetTheGin · 18/11/2021 23:21

Oh god. All of them.

Equimum · 18/11/2021 23:35

Lego police station (hoping for a price drop)
Gift for god-daughter (lacking inspiration)
Knee/ elbow pads
Gifts for in-laws

1AngelicFruitCake · 19/11/2021 06:08

Most things! So behind 😄

Lightisnotwhite · 19/11/2021 06:10

I don’t get the done and dusted people.
The best bargains and choice is from about mid November to early December. If you got it all in August surely you are kin kicking yourself now?

1AngelicFruitCake · 19/11/2021 06:12

I need small presents to bulk out gifts for a 5 year old girl and 7 year old girl. Can’t believe I’ve got so much to buy! 😮

user1497787065 · 19/11/2021 06:18

All of them but for me that is only two presents.

We stopped buying for nieces and nephews when they became adults, likewise godchildren. We have no parents still living.
This year I have spoken with my friends and stopped swapping presents with them, none of us need more 'stuff'.

I will probably order online for my grown up children a number of things so will probably spend an hour or two in front of the computer and then await the arrivals. Simple.

Hetyanni · 19/11/2021 06:23

2 x photo frames for grandparents (struggling to find the right size)

Ds Santa gift (remote control t rex)

Rest of dd Santa gift (some blue fairy wings and blue hairspray)

Book for DH

Notebook for secret Santa

Possibly a couple more stocking fillers for DC, like a torch each

HollyBollyBooBoo · 19/11/2021 06:33

Please may someone advise...do you buy secondary school teacher a Xmas gift?

DD's just gone up to year 7. Always bought primary school teachers one but not sure if it's the done thing in secondary? Thanks!

Christmasdinner · 19/11/2021 07:03

So many still to buy. I'm so far behind this year Sad

Heres some of my list in anyone spots any bargains:

  • peppa/ fireman sam/ bing toys for a 2yo (havent bought him anything yet)
  • a psg jersey for a 10yo
  • something for 8, 5 & 2yo nephews
Cherrydown · 19/11/2021 07:05

I don't understand why some people get so sneery about those who do it all early, everyone does things differently for their own very different reasons. If we all left it until December there would be stock issues and the shops would be even more horrendous!

I've just got two pairs of pyjamas left to buy, hoping for a Black Friday deal.

I like to finish by the end of November so December pay goes on doing Christmassy things as we don't have lots of spare cash.

Noeuf · 19/11/2021 07:06

I’m getting the boys odeon limitless just waiting to see if Black Friday holds a deal. Need two birthday presents for Christmas birthdays. Need a nice present for a godmother - any suggestions for £20 - she’s 50 very feminine likes sparkle - probably just do cash for the older ones.

Noeuf · 19/11/2021 07:06

Oh and something for dh - haven’t got him anything Blush

notacooldad · 19/11/2021 07:07

She'll be 10 months old by Christmas. I need to buy a few more things but I don't know what!

What are people buying for babies?
That was a out all I bought ds1 1 when he was about that age! I just got him 1 small toy from Early Learning.
He has t missed out . The following 24 Christmases have more than made up for it.🤣
