These Christmas crayons would make cute advent or stocking fillers for little ones - haven't purchased myself, just found while browsing!

Has anyone used the website Magic Madhouse before? I ordered something from there a few days ago but although it says it’s in stock and dispatch is within 24 hours, still not being dispatched. Hope they are legit as it is a present for DS that he really really wants. I tried Amazon first and they were useless saying it’s in stock but twice delaying delivery and sending me emails saying they don’t know when it will be available let alone delivered to me.

Not necessarily Christmassy, but set of 20 Little Brian paintsticks down to £8.50. (For comparison, the set of six is £5).

Neom beauty box, has anyone managed to use a £5 off referral code or the £5 off when you subscribe to beauty boxes and then successfully cancelled straight away?

Puffalicious · 13/11/2021 10:12

Hi all,

As you may have seen, we're trying to organise postage of quite a bulky Urban Outfitter's order from Glasgow to the ROI. Before it's ordered does anyone roughly the cost/ the most reasonable way of doing this?

TIA

@missrabbitismyhero

Hi Just to say, the code NEW20 will work with the Look Fantastic Neom box. I just used it - box is then £32 with free delivery.
Thank you so much for this @missrabbitismyhero it worked for me too! I think I just missed out on the other code working so your code was a brilliant surprise. As always, I love the bargain thread!!
CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay · 13/11/2021 10:16

Re urban outfitters, the website lets you put everything in your basket but when you to checkout 8 out of 9 things suddenly went out of stock, keep an eye on that

IslaInthesun · 13/11/2021 10:24

I would really appreciate a Hobbycraft code if anyone has one please, I've been through my emails and the buggers didn't send me one

Thank you

Lifebegins21 · 13/11/2021 10:28

Can I ask why the Neom box is such a good deal? Are the products highly rated?

I've never heard of Neom before but keep seeing excited posts about it!

I'm just wondering whether it will be a good present for my sister.

Thanks

PastelGiraffe · 13/11/2021 10:28

@Catcheronthesly

Has anyone got a recommendation for a cheapest glow in the dark throw for a bed? It’s for a 5 year old girl and I’ve been asked for space or star themed. I’ve seen a few, but they’re grey/cream and I was hoping for something a bit brighter!
I spotted some glow in the dark bedding and throws on Amazon earlier from £13 ish! I definitely saw some with stars.

Changingagain. All our family have used MyHeritage DNA for the DNA kits. It's a really interesting present. They also notify you of other DNA family links and I get a monthly update email re this. Most are distant cousins (2nd to 5th cousins). You can opt of of this part if you want to. They also have a good genealogy section where you can build your family tree.

Thank you

It's a lovely and quite luxurious brand and the individual items are worth about 3x the value of the box

I've ordered it for mother but to be honest I'm not that impressed with it, but that's probably because I don't know anything about neom Blush

There's a couple of other boxes on the site that look nice, I personally like the look of the house proud one but that's because I'd use everything in it!

@Beakerandbungle
We have both Forbidden Island & Castle Panic. Forbidden island is played more often but I think Castle panic is actually enjoyed more when we play. FI is a bit annoying with only 3 players as it limits which roles are selected. Castle panic is definitely more exciting & we make decisions in a more truly cooperative way. CP set up is a bit quicker but FI set up allows lots of variation (& if you get into it there are also different arrangements for placing the tiles)
(FI is far better than Forbidden Desert IMO.)

Not sure that's actually helpful 😂 😬

As I'm standing in front of far far too many the board games may I give Tsuro a mention - it's incredibly simple (youngest has played since about 4) but can be hugely strategic (my tabletop obsessed DH thinks it's brilliant) & it's also a quick game to play (& set up)
Also not cooperative but Karuba & Kingdomino are both simple to play but have potential for strategy.
I'll step away from the games now 😆

PastelGiraffe · 13/11/2021 10:39

A few people mentioned the kids’ kindle upthread. We all have kindles in our house and when we were buying for the kids, i was also debating between the kids version or the adult ones. While I agree that the adult ones are a brilliant buy for around £30, it’s worth bearing in mind that the kids’ kindle comes with a cover (which you would need to spend £10+ on otherwise), access to loads of kids kindle books for a year and a no quibble guarantee. On balance, if you can hold off until next week, you’ll probably get the kids one in the Black Friday events for around £55. I think that’s what we paid last year.

I’ve just checked and as CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay says most of the stuff in my basket is sold out big thanks to puffalious for offering to help anyway

butterflymum · 13/11/2021 10:41

@Puffalicious you could try getting a quote via www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/international/ireland

LunchWithAGruffalo · 13/11/2021 10:44

@Beakerandbungle I've only played forbidden island out of those two cooperative games. Honestly where there is a mismatch in ability and patience between the team members we have found to doesn't end well. It's very easy for the dominant person to take over. I end spending the whole game peacekeeping between my children so we very rarely play it.

Short games with enough element of chance work best for us. Rat a tat cat and flux are ones we enjoy.

Summertime10 · 13/11/2021 10:46

Has anybody seen any good deals on matching Christmas pyjamas please? Feel like I'm looking for a needle in a haystack on Google Confused

Dogmatix34 · 13/11/2021 10:51

I bought the Neom box as a gift but it’s so lovely I’ve ordered another one for myself. The smell as you open the box is gorgeous.
Thanks so much for the code @missrabbitismyhero as it has made it a lot easier to justify!

XiCi · 13/11/2021 10:54

M&S have a diffuser and oil gift set for £29.50 if anyone is still looking. Similar in style to the Neom pod here
