Can anyone tell me about dna kits? The kind that tell you about your family history, not the kind to check if your dd is your dd! Is the ancestory one the "proper" one or are there better ones?

Could I ask a quick question of board games people. I need a board game to play with my DC (7 and 9 by Xmas). DC7 is very good at board games ( seriously into chess), older has ADHD so less patience and less good at losing and will find complex instructions hard to follow. It’s just me and them at Xmas so it’s for us to play together on Xmas day.

I’m therefore looking for a co-op game and can’t decide between Forbidden Island or Castle Panic? Is one better than the other at all? Forbidden Island obvs a lot cheaper …

Oh you've read my mind. I was just this minute on Ancestry looking. DD (18) mentioned that a couple of her friends have got really into it. Family trees etc. I did start years ago, but even Ancestry was really primitive then and there was no DNA kits. I think Ancestry is still about the best. I saw if you sign up to them you get 25% off.

Has anyone got a recommendation for a cheapest glow in the dark throw for a bed? It’s for a 5 year old girl and I’ve been asked for space or star themed. I’ve seen a few, but they’re grey/cream and I was hoping for something a bit brighter!

Board game hunters can I suggest you take a look in charity shops - I got Linkee for £2 yesterday. They had loads of other games and puzzles- some brand new. I think so many people have done massive clear outs this past year - the charity shops are benefiting. I know it doesn’t help if you’re after a particular game but it’s worth a look.
