If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

I can't remember who it was who was asking about the Kindle 's on the last thread, but 4 of my children have had the normal Amazon Fire for years, and they use them without issue all the time. If not bother with the specific child version, it seems overpriced for something that does less. You can set up restricted children's profiles on normal ones, which is very handy. I've always got them around Black Friday and don't think I've paid more than £30 for them.

Thanks for the new thread @Reastie

Was someone looking for a Works code?

I’d love some advice on card games. DS (5) LOVES exploding kittens and we play it daily. Bought throw throw burrito recently which wasn’t a hit (ends in tears every time). I’m looking at all the reduced ones in Waterstones. Ticket to ride, pandemic, capan. Would they all be far too advanced for him?

NortieTortie · 12/11/2021 23:33

@Karlkennedyslovechild haven't tried those but Uno is my 5yo's favourite card game! Only a fiver on amazon too. Mattel Games Uno Card Game 42003 amazon.co.uk/dp/B00004TZY8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_S39RGWHYR53H18NSANNQ]]

Have you got Dobble? Still a huge hit in our house-we all enjoy it!
Karlkennedyslovechild · 12/11/2021 23:37

Yes sorry should have said. Uno is definitely a close second favourite and we have 2 different dobbles already!

thaegumathteth · 12/11/2021 23:42

@Karlkennedyslovechild does it need to be a card game. Dd absolutely loved the Melissa and Doug suspend game and it was pulled out for years when friends were over.

Enoughis · 12/11/2021 23:44

Karlkennedyslovechild Gubs is a firm goto game in our house!

thaegumathteth · 12/11/2021 23:44

Also not really a typical card game but the orchard toys magic maths game was a huge hit too. It's £9,99 on Amazon just now.

2319inprogress · 12/11/2021 23:53

Gubs is brilliant but requires some reading (or an excellent memory-DS is a card counter 😂), Dungeon Mayhem is brilliant but it can have an element of "ganging up" which can end in tears.
Our all time favourite game for that ages is Sleeping Queens.

Bsmirched · 13/11/2021 00:12

Re kids' Kindle, they are normal Kindles and you can have adult profiles on them, too. The great advantage with them is the no quibbles replacement if they get damaged or broken within 2 years of buying them. We've had 2 of them that have had cracked screens, and they were replaced with brand new ones within 48 hours.

I'm looking for a Hulk GooJitzu. The glow in the dark one is everywhere but, apparently, it NEEDS to be the normal one and they're sold out everywhere near me. Any ideas for different places I may not have tried? Have tried Tesco/ Smyths/ Entertainer/ Asda/ Amazon.

woodwaj · 13/11/2021 01:51

@Puffalicious if I've got the right one you can pre order it now on amazon but the eta is after Xmas by a few days but they usually deliver earlier ive found and you can always cancel if you find it elsewhere before?

I can't believe I've never thought to mention two card games I love.
Rat a tat cat (£11.49 on Amazon) and Skyjo, which I'm sure I heard about here last year, it's reduced to just over £13 on Amazon too.

Beakerandbungle · 13/11/2021 05:56

@Oneborneverydecade - HC have launched a coffee machine so I think takethetime does mean coffee machine in the deal not velvitiser

IggyAce · 13/11/2021 06:34

@Karlkennedyslovechild there are expansion packs for Exploding Kittens.

IggyAce · 13/11/2021 06:41

Link to Boots star gifts there are a couple of fragrances half price from YSL. A Clinique gift set, Soap & glory and also Lady Million & 1 million.

Purpletoes · 13/11/2021 06:50

@Karlkennedyslovechild my 2 are 6 and 9 and as well as exploding kittens they love dino dump (which is based on shithead) and the muddles card games.

Rat a tat cat is a firm favourite here (and I class it as "stealth maths" so it's educational). We also love Ghost Blitz which is a game that the kids always genuinely thrash the adults at - it's card plus some little models. And we also love Rhino Hero.
Beakerandbungle · 13/11/2021 07:26

Not a bargain but a recommendation which I hope is ok!

Anyone looking for unusual Xmas decs ( or knitted small toys!) then I can massively recommend HeadHatCrafts on Etsy if you are Ok with knitted decs. I have been trying to find some very unusual ones for ages and this seller was so helpful and has created them for me! He had a go with no obligation to buy but they are seriously cute. Just such a helpful seller with lovely stuff.

@woodwaj

There's 75% off a 1 month Disney plus subscription its £1.99 offer ends Sunday.
If you have Tesco Clubcard vouchers you can get three months Disney+ for £6 vouchers, I think it runs out on Sunday though (£8 after that I think)
