Thanks @Bezzi for the title. Poor old link being colicky 🤣

@Franticbutterfly I'm glad you have said that. We got it last Christmas I've absolutely no idea how it works.

Haudyourwheesht · 05/11/2021 21:52

Any thoughts on Guess Who for a fairly mature 4.5 year old? We'd like to get her a game but she's not a good loser..!

Louise5754 · 05/11/2021 21:53

@Louise5754

I just ordered two Christmas Eve boxes from a toy seller on Facebook.

Track Santa. Letter to and from Santa. Toy. Bubbles. Christmas Plush. Certificate. Colour in your own mug. Chocolate. Sweets. Stickers. Tattoos. Can't remember what else but £20 each plus postage. All sorted in one go x

Should say you don't actually get the box just the "fillers"
Scout2016 · 05/11/2021 21:54

@RJnomore1 was the HC black Friday last year directly through them or with QVC please? I'm more Frazzles crisps than fancy chocolates so find it hard to know what's what.

Puffalicious · 05/11/2021 22:06

Thread title nomination: More Frazzles crisps than fancy chocolates. I LOVE this- it's soooooo me!

RJnomore1 · 05/11/2021 22:16

It was direct, they did some really good bundles.

2319inprogress · 05/11/2021 22:19

Haudyourwheesht & get oan wae it Wink
Mine all played at that age - if "losing" is an issue you can do it as a puzzle without the competitive side which is a great way for them to get better at the game too.

IMO the absolute best game for that age is Orchard or "oh not the crow" as it's called here Grin NEVER seen it that expensive though Shock my teen will still play with her younger siblings!

oatmilkisntsobad · 05/11/2021 22:19
@Puffalicious I bought TT Burrito last year. We played it on Christmas Day evening- it’s gone down in family legend. Cards went in the gravy, someone used the saucepans to deflect the burrito, it was very funny. We haven’t played it since as I’ve stated it’s only for Christmas. So you might not play it every week but it’s worth it. I also got a black eye Grin
I bought it but now I'm a bit scared to play 😮

Scout2016 · 05/11/2021 22:24

@Haudyourwheesht Outfoxed is a good collaborative game with no looser.
My DD loved Guess Who for a good while at that age. This might have been boosted by the fact she was was able to play it over video call with relatives during lockdown though, after we sent them a photo of all the characters.

Will keep an eye on Hotel C come black Friday thanks.

Silversilverstreet · 05/11/2021 22:24

@newusernameforxmas

I was charged £5.50 postage for the Penhaligon samples! I'm so cross. Was anyone else charged?
@newusernameforxmas, did you use the code SAMPLESLOVE, which I mentioned at 12:54 on Monday 1st November, and which was my first post about the offer?

If so, my apologies. It worked for me and my samples arrived yesterday.

£5.50 is the Penhaligons standard postage charge for samples, unless you have a code or are buying other things which take it over their free postage limit. That’s £75 at the moment.

Room4onemore · 05/11/2021 22:45

No ideas what I can my 15 year old DS, all he has asked for is an external hard drive for his PS4, he is into gaming and not much else, he is so awkward to buy for

Puffalicious · 05/11/2021 22:54

I've given in and bought TT Burrito!

To the PP looking for rugby stuff. Brilliant site I was recommended on here : Oddballs . Fabulous rugby tops - so many colours and styles- made in UK, Newcastle, and some profits go to testicular cancer.

Clucket87 · 05/11/2021 22:55

@hairycabbage have you thought about a Lions jersey. The tour was this years but I remember getting a top for my husband after the last tour and it was about £10 instead of £60. I think it was after Xmas but just having a quick look you can get them for about £22 now.
Also Canterbury’s have some decent sales through the year.

Chocolateteabag · 05/11/2021 23:14

@Haudyourwheesht - I got £10 off at next by opening a credit account (which I will be paying off in full once I decide which pair of boots I keep)

Clucket87 · 05/11/2021 23:17

Tassimo coffee machines are £29 again in Curry’s.

UltimateProcrastinator · 05/11/2021 23:21

@newusernameforxmas I was charged for the free samples too. I emailed to let them know and received a response a day or so later offering to refund the cost of p&p. Really impressed with the customer service

1stTimeMama · 05/11/2021 23:27

@BestofLuck My husband bought me a 6kg one which is slightly more than the 10% body weight recommendation. I still think I'd like it a bit heavier, but I suppose it's personal preferance. It's a glass bead one and is entirely washable. I'm assuming he got it from Amazon, as that's where he does most of his shopping! I also have a weighted eye mask which is fabulous.

thaegumathteth · 05/11/2021 23:29

@Thisisbatshit

3 pack of metallic gold silver and bronze sharpies £3 on amazon just now. Great for Christmas crafts etc. There was also a 3 pack in metallic red, blue and something else for £2.99

SHARPIE

Thanks! Ordered them both for dd to go with a black paper sletchbook!
ShoppingBasket · 05/11/2021 23:31

@Room4onemore what about
new gaming chair
New headset
Charging Dock
Control holder
Merch from his favourite game
Retro game console

I've just been asking about a subscription for snacks around the world and people have recommended snack surprise on here. Might be something a bit different to get him.

Thanks @guiltynetter @gaggiagirl it looks great.
On the dinosaur front my DS loved the remote control dinosaur I think it's about 20£ in argos. That was many moons ago though!

vivicrocodile · 05/11/2021 23:35

I bough a couple of the lucky dip bags from the hype website for my girls the other day. They are £240 usually. I got mine for £60 but they are £70 now which I still think is decent. You get 10% off if you sign up for their newsletter too.

They are not returnable/refundable but I took the risk and I'm glad I did.

In each pack I got a metal water bottle, a watch, a backpack, a pencil case, a tracksuit, 2 hoodies, a leggings set and then in one I got a pair of leggings and the other a pair of shorts. They are not all to my taste but I know my kids will love them. To give you an idea of savings, a hoodie is £35-40, a backpack is £25 and a water bottle is £15. I was really pleased.

In terms of sizes, I measured a 5-6 sweatshirt from M&S against one from hype and they were about the same. :)

thaegumathteth · 05/11/2021 23:35

@Room4onemore ds turns 15 at Xmas and is getting

FIFA points
Phone cases
New phone
Wireless headset
Football shirts
Football books
Bulldog toiletries
Charger wires
Charger bite things that distinguish your charger from your sisters for example
Possibly mini fridge but we do have one in the playroom anyways

vivicrocodile · 05/11/2021 23:39

I just reread what Ive written above and I wasn't clear in my head before I wrote it. 🤦‍♀️

Hype only do sizes 5/6, 7/8 so the hype is probably a bit small as it was the same as an M&S 5-6 jumper.

flumposie · 05/11/2021 23:51

Thank you for the QVC Hotel Chocolat and Tisserand diffuser bargains.
