Thanks @Bezzi for the title. Poor old link being colicky 🤣

If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

@Haudyourwheesht
I’ve definitely used a “refer your friend”discount code at next - think it was £20 off a £50 spend, so a generous discount but a high spend. If there are other items you need from there it might be worth asking on the referrals thread to see if anyone is a next account holder (I’m not - sorry)

guiltynetter · 05/11/2021 20:39

Can anybody recommend something dinosaur related for just turned 3 year old DS? he's absolutely obsessed, he has lots of plastic dinosaur figures that he plays with every day and that's about it.

Isabellabasil · 05/11/2021 20:44

Anyone finding the QVC Hotel chocolat comes up saying it can't be shipped to your area? I'm in London so doubt that's the case...!

Wainwriter · 05/11/2021 20:45

guiltynetter what about dinosaur top trumps? My ds had it and loved it. 3 might be a bit young ( it obviously helps if they can read!) but mine loved the cards and as he knew more about dinosaurs than me he soon picked it up!
Think we also had an art set with dinosaur stampers that was popular here.

Wainwriter · 05/11/2021 20:47

These are the sort of things I mean

Savile Row dressing gown offer is fab. £20 delivered for a really nice one. Perfect for FIL

hairycabbage · 05/11/2021 20:52
@hairycabbage how do you get the 20% off at matalan?
Sorry I thought it was 20% off but it's £10 off over £50 with code MAT50 and £20 off over £100 with code MAT100

Somehow I spent £100 Smile

Scout2016 · 05/11/2021 20:56

I have had the Insect Lore butterfly kit a PP mentioned several times, I think it's a great gift.

If anyone wants a QVC code I have out mine on the referrals thread. I am trying to resit the Hotel Chocolat offer.

My Spicery Mezze kit arrived and looks great thank you. The recipient likes the Yotam Ottolenghi recipes in The Guardian so I'm thinking it will be her bag. Similar food but 294 fewer ingredients.
I have been buying the individual kits for my parents too, they have really enjoyed them so thanks to all those who recommended them.

guiltynetter · 05/11/2021 20:56

@hairycabbage ah thanks, I don't need to spend that much.

@wainwriter thank you, he definitely wouldn't get top trumps but I'll look at the stampers 😊

gracelessladyhottramp · 05/11/2021 20:57

@zeebee

lightswitch123 there are lots of dryrobe brand alternatives which are much cheaper and often have full length sleeves. Look on Wiggle under Changing robes in the triathlon section. We have a Zone3 one (cheaper one) and a Charlie McLeod (buy direct or Amazon). I’ve seen a number of people wearing the Frostfire Moonwrap. The dhb ones look good too. Watersportswarehouse.co.uk have Gul branded robes at £80. There’s usually a Zone 3 code knocking around.
@zeebee do you know if they're as good as dry robes? Thanks.
Catcheronthesly · 05/11/2021 21:00

@Oneborneverydecade I have one. I just use it for normal hot chocolate powder (Cadbury’s or similar) and it blends it well. I don’t think it gets hot enough though, but it’s a good temperature for the kids. I haven’t used a proper velvetiser, so I can’t compare.

newusernameforxmas · 05/11/2021 21:02

I was charged £5.50 postage for the Penhaligon samples! I'm so cross. Was anyone else charged?

gaggiagirl · 05/11/2021 21:08

I have the Aldi velvetiser from a few years ago. I think it gets hot enough and it does the job really well but again I have nothing to compare it too.
@ShoppingBasket snack surprise is great!

Haudyourwheesht · 05/11/2021 21:16

@guiltynetter I've been eyeing this up for my DD.

Puffalicious · 05/11/2021 21:17

Hmmm...mixed bag on Exploding Kittens and Burrito. £5?!!! When was that? Presently £15.99 for EK. Burrito is deal of the day at £14.99. I'm not sure since some folk think they're not great.

RJnomore1 · 05/11/2021 21:21

I’m sitting on my hands with the hotel Chocolat deal in the hope they do good Black Friday again.

Also it’s the last thing I need, I have bought half of marks food hall, put an order in surf Yorkshire crisps and made two food collections orders. And written a list of non order able perishables.

All the same...

Thisisbatshit · 05/11/2021 21:22

We had the butterfly kit this year and the children really loved it. If you do buy it the one with 10 butterflies rather than 5 is £20.99 on bargain maxx. Definitely worth a few extra pounds for more butterflies in my opinion. Though be aware when you claim the butterflies with the voucher you have to pay another £3.99 for postage in all their kits which I find annoying.

10 butterfly kit

Thisisbatshit · 05/11/2021 21:27

3 pack of metallic gold silver and bronze sharpies £3 on amazon just now. Great for Christmas crafts etc. There was also a 3 pack in metallic red, blue and something else for £2.99

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 05/11/2021 21:29

Evening all, thought I was starting the Xmas sport earlier when we headed to a large Christmas craft event only to find it wasn’t on (stupid google events) Anyway, was slightly rectified by going to the new Bath and Body works section in Next near Maidstone. Not the biggest selection (and not bargain by any stretch) but I do really like their products. Only opened yesterday.

Nonamenoplacetogo · 05/11/2021 21:30

@Puffalicious I bought TT Burrito last year. We played it on Christmas Day evening- it’s gone down in family legend. Cards went in the gravy, someone used the saucepans to deflect the burrito, it was very funny. We haven’t played it since as I’ve stated it’s only for Christmas. So you might not play it every week but it’s worth it. I also got a black eye Grin

Nonamenoplacetogo · 05/11/2021 21:31

You could play it all the time- I just done have the stamina Grin

Puffalicious · 05/11/2021 21:42

Grin Appreciate the recommendation.
JanuaryEl5ieBill · 05/11/2021 21:44

Not a bargain but Luke Drew This was recommended on here in a much earlier thread as a good idea for personalised gifts from the kids. Just had a tshirt delivered for DH and it's really good quality and lovely wrapping too. I chose the one with the kids' hand prints on as my 2 are a bit young for drawings (which is typically what's added to the items). I'm really impressed so thought I'd share. Not a bargain but it always feels good to support a small business rather than amazon (who I definitely support way too much!)

Louise5754 · 05/11/2021 21:47

I just ordered two Christmas Eve boxes from a toy seller on Facebook.

Track Santa. Letter to and from Santa. Toy. Bubbles. Christmas Plush. Certificate. Colour in your own mug. Chocolate. Sweets. Stickers. Tattoos. Can't remember what else but £20 each plus postage. All sorted in one go x

BestofLuck · 05/11/2021 21:47

@BestofLuck

Although weighted blankets have been a thing on these threads in yesteryear I'm only now thinking I'll bite the bullet and get one for DD this year. I'd like a machine washable one with I think kudd.ly is and another one I've forgotten the name of...

Just wondered for those who have gotten one for a teen around the 14/15 age can you tell me what weight you got and how it is? Obviously this will vary but know the kudd.ly is a standard 5kg and wonder whether this will be just right as think could manage a slightly heavier one if going by the 10% of body weight rule.

Any ideas anyone? Grateful for any help.
