Standing in for @Reastie as thread 10 was filling up quickly...

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from Chinahere. Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will receive.
@spudjulia. Thanks. I've bought them!
They've sold out now! High demand for the whites!

RJnomore1 · 10/10/2021 21:47

It’s not a bother as I’ll need to collect a parcel so I will be close by - I wish I’d just grabbed one today!

LemonCake79 · 10/10/2021 21:48

Strictly Come Dancing board game down to £8.50. It's over £30 in WH Smith's!

John Adams Strictly Come Dancing Board Game from Ideal https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07FM6KGYL/ref=cmswwrcppapiglttfabcMY16D950KW0FZBQ1RN41??encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I've bought one for DD 9 who loves Strictly.

spudjulia · 10/10/2021 21:55

@Restlessinthenorth

I'm after the stranger things lego set. It's an eye watering £180 everywhere that has it. If anyone comes across it at a lower price or on offer or anything, would you mind letting me know?
My son would LOVE that Lego set, but we can't stretch to £180. Blimey. It looks amazing though.
Maiyakat · 10/10/2021 21:55

Thanks for all the make up advice. I've got a few nice bits from the Revolution sale, and will take a look at the others.

CarrieMoonbeams · 10/10/2021 21:59

I can't quote the post, but there's a link on page 15 to thomasandco for hats with bobbles.

I was going to buy one, but I noticed that the bobble in the adult hats with the LARGE bobble (the £15 hats) is made of real fur. Sad. The 'normal' ones and the kids' ones are all acrylic though.

Sorry to put a negative in such a lovely thread, but just in case others might miss this.

On a happy note, I received the seed advent calendar that someone recommended on a previous thread and I'm so pleased with it. Not really an advent calendar in the traditional sense, but it has 4 compartments with coloured envelopes each containing 6 packets of seeds. I can't post a photo because it's personalised for my neighbours, but it's such a nice gift for a keen gardener. It's the garden seed advent calendar and the website is somethingprettyplants.com

@RJnomore1 Thank you. Don’t go to too much bother. Sure let me know tomorrow what happens!

MerylSqueak · 10/10/2021 22:11

@5Minions2CallMyOwn I'll pm you an Argos code now.

5Minions2CallMyOwn · 10/10/2021 22:19

@MerylSqueak That’s so kind of you thank you! Another kind poster has already sent me one though so I don’t need yours also. Do you want to see if anyone else can use it? Thanks again, so lovely of you Flowers

layby · 10/10/2021 22:25

@MerylSqueak I would like to have an Argos code please. (For Xmas shopping)

MrsCrimbo74 · 10/10/2021 22:27

Studio have hat, glove and scarf sets x

TuftyMarmoset · 10/10/2021 22:42

@bizzey the code for buyagift was EARLYBIRD23 for 23% off, but it's only valid until midnight tonight. There's also £10 off for signing up to their emails but the codes don't stack. Not sure how it works with theatre tickets but I'd assume you basically use it as a gift voucher to pay for tickets and still have to book them through the theatre.

5Minions2CallMyOwn · 10/10/2021 23:13

With the BuyaGift discount code I managed to book a 3 course meal at Prezzo with a glass of wine each for DH and I for £23.10! Great value. The code does expire at midnight though so if you want to book anything you should hurry.

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads

Hello wonderful helpful people

Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent hairdryer please? (nothing fancy about the £30 mark)

Id be interested for any ideas too as i realised today my hair dryer is 10 years old!!

Also with the switch my 4 year loves it he plays mario kart and uses the the ring fit. He has his own profile, he put us to shame with how many knee lifts he can do and enjoys doing them! Imagine 😂

Puffalicious · 10/10/2021 23:21

Has anyone bit the bullet and ordered the Jeffrey puzzles? They look amazing for the price, but £8ish postage. Did someone mention it might be dodgy? I'm tempted.

bizzey · 10/10/2021 23:33

@TuftyMarmoset thank you .

TuftyMarmoset · 10/10/2021 23:39

I bought this hairdryer earlier this year www.boots.com/babyliss-salon-pro-2200-hairdryer-10253476
It’s £27.99 and it seems good enough to me but I’m not exactly a hair connoisseur. I’ve only used it a few times because after 5 years without one I got out of the habit of using a hairdryer but I can confirm it does indeed dry hair Grin It also comes with quite a big diffuser which was a plus point for me.

Ugh. Real fur 🤢 can't believe that.

Pound shop . Com has a few Star Wars dressing up costumes for £4.99. Not sure on the quality I'm afraid.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 11/10/2021 00:10

Does anyone else have a spare Argos voucher I could have, please?

Also, about the Morrisons toy sale. My local store (St Albans) is about a 25 minute drive away. It doesn't usually have many toys. Anyone local know if they get more toys in specially for the sale and if it's worth a trip? Will the best all be gone by the afternoon?

ConsuelaHammock · 11/10/2021 01:45

There’s a toy story alien jigsaw on amazon for £4.50.

Wineandchoccy · 11/10/2021 02:09

The Morrison’s I was in it was special toys that they were putting near the entrance that were going to be in the sale.

Bezzi · 11/10/2021 05:55
