Standing in for @Reastie as thread 10 was filling up quickly...

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from Chinahere. Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will receive.

@bizzey

Interesting about the Amazon diamond art set. I got one at full price . Still not showing up with the 50%discount when I log into Amazon. I have the tree one if anyone wants a photo .
I'd love a pic please. Tempted to order it for myself now the nights are drawing in. Might stop me shopping 😂

@Redwinestillfine

I just got my DD (10) some make up from the here she has eczema and this is guaranteed nasty free.
This is brilliant thank you. I have a 5 year old asking for makeup, and I was just intending on saying no as I hate makeup. But those kits look nice actually!
yoshiblue · 10/10/2021 20:33

Thanks again @Famousthehero just put in a great Rex London order. Got a good handful of stocking items for my DS (8), plus a travel mug/lunch bag for me, and record microcloth/retro cassette bookmarks for husband. All with free postage as I spent £30.

Would highly recommend if you want stocking ideas for kids, lots of lovely and unique things for children of all ages.

@nicky2512 there were marvel ones in my local primark today. Can I get one to you somehow?

Thank you, these sets look lovely.
nicky2512 · 10/10/2021 20:49

@RJnomore1 Only if you don’t mind posting one to me? I can let the others know I’m sorted. Not if it’s giving you too much hassle though. Thanks.

@Raindancer411

My 9 year old DS is getting a computer desk for Xmas, so he can play on the laptop and do his homework away from my 16 month old. I have added a new keyboard, mouse, chair, whiteboard and desk mat so far. Any other ideas on anything else to make his own home office lol
A funky desk lamp? I've seen great character ones. I bought my DS a bendy one and other DS an exposed light one (they're older though). Also some twisty, fidget toys, but harder ones a bit like a rubic's cube buy different shapes- DS2 14 still loves his.

I also bought a cracking small, under desk, metal, storage unit from IKEA. It has 5 drawers and brilliant for all their pens/ stationary/ bits.

bizzey · 10/10/2021 20:54

@RJnomore1 I know !
The smell is amazing !
It is going to have to be prized out of my hand when I gift it 😀😀

nicky2512 · 10/10/2021 20:55

@ThreeB
Hope this works .
I have put a penny on it to show how small the letters are .
It has a sticky back plastic thing over it and the surface underneath is sticky .

bizzey · 10/10/2021 21:07

Sorry , don't know why the first 2 seem to be upside down !
But you get the jist !

bizzey · 10/10/2021 21:09

In case anyone missed it ...my pictures are of the Amazon diamond art tree .

bizzey · 10/10/2021 21:12

I saw someone mention the BUYAGIFT site .
I think a car experience might be good for hard to buy for DS ,, if I can get to them .

How does the theatre tickets work .
2 for £55 is good . But what seat choices are there ?

bizzey · 10/10/2021 21:13

Someone mentioned a code .
Is it still floating around ?

bizzey · 10/10/2021 21:17

Re the art thing ..I think it would need one of those magnifying lamps ,even with good eyesight !

RJnomore1 · 10/10/2021 21:25

@nicky2512 I’ll do my best to get bsvk in tomorrow - don’t call the others off just yet as I think there were only 3 or 4 so just in case they are all gone. They’re £21 they also had the swirly ones at £19 but no others.

Blizy · 10/10/2021 21:28

Does anyone know when the Sainsbury's toy sale is this year?

A cork noticeboard with novelty pins (or white board with novelty magnets and whiteboard pens). Or IKEA do a pegboard type system with different bits you can attach like pots, hooks etc Cool stationery, notebooks, pens etc. Desk tidy Novelty cushion for his chair
nicky2512 · 10/10/2021 21:35

*@RJnomore Great thanks. Only if it’s no bother. Just marvel or pizza please. And sure if @PoirotAndHisMoustache or @Someaddedsugar get one in the meantime I will just take both! Could always find a home for an extra snuddie!

Restlessinthenorth · 10/10/2021 21:39

@guineapigs thanks for that tip. It never occurred to me that the Lego store itself did discounts. I'll watch out

Purpleheadgirl · 10/10/2021 21:40

@Raindancer411 my DC loves this when about that age :)

Purpleheadgirl · 10/10/2021 21:41
