Standing in for @Reastie as thread 10 was filling up quickly...

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from Chinahere. Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will receive.

I missed it on the last thread but congrats Pseudo!

Thank you @DoucheCanoe!

CamdenLurker · 08/10/2021 22:29

I've got secret Pinterest boards for each dc and I add a link (if I can find one) or take pic on my phone and add that. It gives me a really good visual idea of the things I've already purchased, often I think I've only got a few bits and really I've got tons.

I'm keeping everything in the large built in cupboard in the spare room, it's like Narnia in there and all the boxes and bags are hidden behind my clothes Grin

I don't wrap until right before Christmas as they always end up looking tatty or the paper rips.

Not a bargain as such ...but on another thread I saw a lovely thing for my mum .
Little family of pop up family of worms to go in the grown .
£10.
So cute ...and a bit fallic (!) But my mum will laugh.

AHH ..good point about looking tatty and the paper .
Still it is just for the boys . ..so I don't think they will mind .

bizzey · 08/10/2021 22:37

I still trapes down at 1-2 in the morning to "secretly" put the presents under the tree .

Is anyone near a B&M that are stocking the initial tartan Christmas pj's that would be willing to help me out? My local store isn't stocking this design, but I'd really like it for my children this year. I need 5 pairs in different sizes so I realise it's a bit of an ask, but if anyone is willing to keep an eye out, I'd really appreciate it.

Daisy829 · 08/10/2021 23:02

@katemuff I’ve not heard of those candles before but they have got a nice sounding one in the clearance section so I think I’ll give them a go. Thanks. I love candles at this time of year.

I’m reading these threads as I always do and sad that I have very little shopping to do....kids main presents sorted (lists made since June) and rest of my family getting a surprise trip I’ve been planning for years.....almost feel like volunteering to do my co workers shopping so I can indulge

NoWordForFluffy · 08/10/2021 23:19

I just got an almost-free Joy-con for the Switch using the 20% discount code on eBay (FALL20) and Nectar points. I paid £3.59. Not bad!

Autumnleaves4 · 08/10/2021 23:30

Samba football posts highly recommended, used for football clubs etc. We've had ours for over 10 years, very robust and well used. It's worth paying the extra.

Raindancer411 · 08/10/2021 23:30

Thank you all

1stTimeMama · 09/10/2021 00:00

Any chance you could link which one it was please? My son needs a new one after the 1yr old put it in the microwave and managed to nuke it for a few seconds!

1stTimeMama · 09/10/2021 00:01

Sorry, that was for @NoWordForFluffy

EverybodyKeepCool · 09/10/2021 00:04

FireflyGirl · 09/10/2021 00:14

@1stTimeMama your 1yo turned on your microwave?? Shock

You need a degree in engineering to work ours! Did you birth a child genius?!?

1stTimeMama · 09/10/2021 00:24

@FireflyGirl I didn't know she could until I smelled an oddly metallic scent! On ours you just turn the knob and push the big button, apparently, child's play. She's 14m now, and opens the door to it when her milk is done and it beeps, closes the door, then the cupboard door too!

bizzey · 09/10/2021 00:32

Struggling to get my hands on the primark oodies. None in the huge Leeds branch yesterday. Thinking of going over to Trafford centre branch to try tomorrow....
