Standing in for @Reastie as thread 10 was filling up quickly...

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

Some top tips from thelegohooverer:

My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)

Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from Chinahere. Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will receive.

@Christmasmcchristmasface would a teeter popper work?

Riverhouse · 09/10/2021 18:47

@DoucheCanoe I sleep with a v pillow. I lie on one 'arm' and hug the other. They are quite high but flatten out a bit after a few weeks, or I suppose you could sit on it during the day 😆.
Last one I bought was a fleece covered silentnight from Tesco, it was £10 (clubcard price from £20).
Or Dunelm have good v pillows too

MyrealnameisBernard · 09/10/2021 18:48

@WhereTheresAHill If there's a Lakeland voucher left I'd be very grateful thank you 🙏

Christmasmcchristmasface · 09/10/2021 18:48

@EveLe and @sorryiasked they both look fantastic and he would get a lot of enjoyment from both!!
Thanks again for your fab suggestions

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2021 18:54

I have a 20% off £75 Lakeland voucher that I won't use, but I need a 20% off £50 as I will use that (gave mine away on here, and then got the Christmas catalogue! Xmas Grin ).

Can anybody help? And stop me spending £75 just to get the discount!

These oodies from Primark .
How much are they ?
They keep coming up ..and I think ds3 might like it .
I have seen some in the £ 18/20 bracket .
Is that the right range ?

Beakerandbungle · 09/10/2021 19:05

The primark snuddies I saw ( minecraft) were lovely but just to note they don’t have a furry inside - so are quite thin fleece blanket material.

Looking for ideas for a hand mixer and a CD player both for mum! Any thoughts?

Also my plea continues if anyone sees a W sack in b and m.......

clpsmum · 09/10/2021 19:08

@Tigger83 grey or red sack?

yoshiblue · 09/10/2021 19:10

Been real life shopping this afternoon

Asda has metal tin Cadbury Heroes and Cadbury Roses (Cath Kidston design) for £8 each. I refuse to add to landfill buying those plastic tubs of celebration this year.

So my plan is to eat both of those, then top up with further sweets! Grin

Reastie · 09/10/2021 19:19

Thank you so much for all the wonderful and lovely messages, really cheered me up after a totally full on and difficult day. Love this happy safe corner of mumsnet we’ve created ❤️

Someaddedsugar · 09/10/2021 19:19

@RJnomore1 keep checking the Ocado delivery areas as they didn’t deliver here in August so must be a recent thing!

Freakingflies · 09/10/2021 19:28

My 8yo dd is currently raving about the instax mini cameras. I’m not really sure what I think about them.
Does anyone have any experience of them? Are they suitable for an 8 year old? Does it work out really expensive buying paper etc to print photos out on?

RJnomore1 · 09/10/2021 19:32

Thabks @Someaddedsugar I’ll keep checking and hoping...

Tigger83 · 09/10/2021 19:32

@clpsmum red please!

WisestIsShe · 09/10/2021 19:33

Thanks to pp for the Jurassic Jim tip.
Had anyone seen a good deal on a good magazine subscription? BBC good food is £29.99 for 12 months, can anyone beat that?

WisestIsShe · 09/10/2021 19:36

@Freakingflies DD has one. She thought it was fun but you have to print every photo you take and it works out very expensive. I also felt the quality wasn't the best. The next year she got a sprocket(other brands available!) and although the paper is still expensive your can pick and choose which photos to print. DC would need a tablet or similar to take the photos on though.

If I had my time again I'd just buy the sprocket.

RevolvingPivot · 09/10/2021 19:39

Hi does anyone have a free delivery Argos code?

I had one that expired last week.

I went to Argos today but one item was only available to order.

Thank you 😁

winterescape · 09/10/2021 19:44

I bought the Marvel snuddie from Primark and it was £21. It’s been welded to DS aged 13 since. The marvel one was a better quality than the pizza one I saw. Definitely a superior material.

clpsmum · 09/10/2021 19:46

@Tigger83 no probs I have four near me so I'll go hunting tomorrow xxx

A sprocket! Oh no, something else I’ve never heard of! Having kids is really revealing how out of touch I truly am Confused

I’m even wondering if maybe a ch

Freakingflies · 09/10/2021 19:56

Im even wondering if a cheap digital camera would be the way forward. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Tigger83 · 09/10/2021 19:58

@clpsmum you angel I've tried 3 locally to me every couple of days with no joy. They look at me like I have 2 heads when I ask for a W!

MerylSqueak · 09/10/2021 20:00

Thank you so much @imnottoofussed. Ordered!

@DoucheCanoe I sleep with an extra long pillow like this. You can buy pillow cases on ebay. I am always meaning to make one out of nicer fabric but never get round to it.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 09/10/2021 20:02

If anyone spies any deals for dunelm please could you post here?

Looking to buy toddler his first proper bedding (duvet/quilt,pillow that kind of thing).
