Poor deprived DD aged 3 asked for Juice on Christmas Eve. Queue me risking to the shop to buy a carton of juice and wrapping it when she’s gone to bed.

It was totally worth it, her face in the morning was pure happiness “Santa brought me juice!”.

So what’s the strangest or simplest thing that your DC have asked for?

It doesn't get any easier when they're grown up. Try wrapping a wet suit, two camping mattresses and a dinner gong...!

2-year-old asked for a CBeebie on Christmas Eve once. One of those bouncy yellow blob things.

Luckily I had some yellow felt and wadding in the house to make one.

I quickly instated the rule that letters to Father Christmas are written on Nov 30th and left for the elves to pick up when they delivered the advent calendar that night. 👍

Mud.

Yup mud.

On further pressing she wanted mud for her schleich pigs.

She was very pleased to receive a piece of brown felt cut into a squiggly mud shaped puddle. Phew.

I can’t remember DS1 ever asking for random presents, he has always been way too sensible and logical!!

DS2 on the other hand asked for a proper Fireman’s Pole every year for 4 years. We had every toy fire station there was, all with Fireman’s Poles but no he wanted a proper one right in the middle of our lounge!!

When we saw Father Christmas and he asked him, I don’t know how he kept a straight face!!

Icantremembermyusername · 21/11/2021 21:08

@hels71 buy a laundry basket!

ItsSunnyOutside · 21/11/2021 21:30

Dc is only 2 so she's not at the age where she asks for presents, however I asked her what she wanted Santa to bring and she said 'some crispies' Grin

AlwaysNapTime · 22/11/2021 21:44

Ds asked for a leaf blower when he was 3. He did not get one!

Kirst26 · 23/11/2021 11:33

This thread has given me such warm fuzzies

InTheLabyrinth · 23/11/2021 11:54

DS1, aged about 4, asked for an alarm clock. Eyebrows were raised because we struggled to keep him in bed past 5am.
He got an alarm clock. 8 years later, I think it has woken him once - he is always awake before it goes off!

Thank you for all the mermaid/merman suggestions but they're not what she's after, sadly. She wants like a ragdoll type. Closest I found are 'gay interest' ones on Etsy but at £40 are a bit pricey.

The removable tail suggested upthread looks promising though! Really appreciate how lovely people were to Google and suggest ❤️

MrsPatmoresPinny · 23/11/2021 12:13

I just remembered - the same DD who asked for the CBeebie when she was 2 also asked for a grappling hook when she was 5! 😂

CatOfTheLand · 23/11/2021 13:12

New request: a Christmas ladybird 🤣

Largethighsbadeyes · 23/11/2021 13:15

When he was about 3 he put "snow and happiness" on his Chriatmas list.

It didn't snow (fucking weather!) But I think we've done ok with the happiness over the years 😅

bettertimesarecomingnow · 23/11/2021 13:19

@Aquamarine1029

@MrsPatmoresPinny

I just remembered - the same DD who asked for the CBeebie when she was 2 also asked for a grappling hook when she was 5! 😂
Mine wanted one too! And a boxing glove on a spring
TheBestSpoon · 23/11/2021 16:44

DS is nearly 3 and getting the concept of Christmas properly for the first time this year. We're going to see Santa in a couple of weeks' time and he is adamant he will be asking for "A BANANA!!!". Grin Grin Grin

At least it's a very easy request to fulfil!

Musicaltheatremum · 23/11/2021 19:33

My brother 18 months asked for a door......he's 50 now 🤣🤣

ThousandsOfTulips · 24/11/2021 11:26

@OhGiveUp

A brainy girlfriend was my then six year old sons Christmas request. Quite where I was expected to find one from, or how I was going to wrap her up if I did, is anyone's guess!
At least he was showing good taste in girls! Grin
rslsys · 24/11/2021 11:34

What is it with kids and Blu-Tac? We had 8yo DGD1 for a sleepover last Friday and she's obsessed with the stuff!!

Firstbornunicorn · 15/12/2021 14:26

Hi @babbi and everyone else! I said I’d update when DS’ Christmas gift of a baby sister arrived. I was induced last Monday and she arrived on Tuesday afternoon at 37+1. Santa obviously wanted us to enjoy her in the run up to Christmas! DS is in love 🥰

Snugglepumpkin · 15/12/2021 15:00

My son was over the moon one year to receive one of those double sided yellow floor signs you put out to warn about wet floors.

We still have it (years later) & he drives me mad putting it up anytime he catches me washing a floor.

chaos76 · 15/12/2021 15:08

My youngest when he was 3 or 4 asked for a red balloon and a packet of crisps

babbi · 15/12/2021 20:38

@Firstbornunicorn aww 🥰 congratulations on your new arrival 💗💗💗
So pleased for you !
That’s lovely news and a fantastic Xmas present for all of the family .
Enjoy your little bundle of total joy and take great care of yourself.

Thank you sincerely for coming back to update us .
This news of her safe arrival has made my day 😀

I hope your DS is delighted 😁

Have a fantastic Xmas and Happy New Year in your new born baby bubble xx

I’ve loved reading all of these - and the deer one made me a little misty eyed!

My son aged 3 asked for an ice cream for Christmas.
Aged 4 he just wanted things in black wrapping paper which proved too difficult to find!
