Greetings folks, it’s that time again!

Starting a fresh for 2021, so if anyone has any specific links they’d like or think would be handy to add to the list for the next thread please do let me know.

Hope you’ve all had a better year so far than last year and here’s hoping things will be at a point for a more celebratory Christmas with friends and family (and lots of bargains) this year.

Has anybody purchased from bargain max? It seems quite good deals but wonder if its too good to be true?

IggyAce · 15/08/2021 21:01

@LadyCatStark stay strong, happy to know I’ve helped someone.

superstar84 · 15/08/2021 21:02

I've bought quite a few bits on bargain max and always found them to be reliable and items arrive very quickly

They usually have a new customer discount too

Reastie · 15/08/2021 21:06

Thanks @thelegohooverer and @IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile , making notes here ready for next thread Flowers

Plenty of times - happy with all my purchases from them 👍

@user1019273703 I’ve bought from BargainMax lots, great prices and never had any problems, fast delivery and great items 👍🏼

I can’t wait till the Christmas treat food hampers start appearing, that’s my Xmas present to me, from me Grin

user1019273703 · 15/08/2021 21:36

Thanks @Doghairismyglitter & @IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts ordered an olympics barbie. Really happy with the price!

IggyAce · 15/08/2021 21:46

@Redwinestillfine keep an eye on the Naked marshmallow company you’ve just missed their summer sale, but I’m sure they may do offers.

IggyAce · 15/08/2021 21:49

Just a reminder for those with vodaphone rewards it’s worth checking the Friday deals, we got some really good treats last year.

TriCeraBottom · 15/08/2021 22:21

Thank you for the Blockus bargain - looks right up DS’s street.

Can anyone tell me with the Amazon preorders do they take payment now? I saw the new Tom fletcher hardback is £6 odd and know ds will like but wonder whether to just wait until later in the year and buy (or will it be full price everywhere?)

@happytobemrsg we had the Peppa advent book last year for 3yr old. I got it from asda quite late on for £10. I thought it was really good. Nice little books with a decent story (not just a few words) my DD really likes reading it together each day (odd days we missed when life busy but doubled next time). Not all Christmas related and we still have the books now and read them.

@Witchesbelazy

Hello, would you say blokus is good for a six year old or maybe better for next year ? Thanks
Our 5/6 year old loved it. Very quickly saw he had to be strategic!
sherbertdibdab · 15/08/2021 22:30

I haven't read all the way back through the thread so I hope this isn't a repeat. But I love the look of some of the bits in the Katie Loxton sale.

Scout2016 · 15/08/2021 22:50

Thanks for bargin max tip. I hadn't known of them.
I am normally anti barbie but the Olympics skateboarding one looks ace.

happytobemrsg · 15/08/2021 22:53

Thanks @TriCeraBottom Just pre-ordered the peppa pig book advent calendar for £15.50

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2021 22:54

I think Amazon charge when they ship, @TriCeraBottom.

I’ve actually finished all of DS’ (5yrs) Christmas presents from us… in august! Got him some great bits for his Christmas sack (joke book, scavenger hunt game, bath crayons, clay modelling kit, 2 controllers he wanted for his wii & an electrical circuit kit for kids), & the cosmos coding set as his main present. DH’s family are buying him an electric drum kit & I’ll get my family to buy him the bits he asks for in the lead up. Done! Just need to get him an advent calendar & sort out his little brother (2 yrs).

Does everyone do Christmas Eve boxes? Are they a must? We have a tighter than usual budget this year

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2021 23:12

Our Christmas Eve box is the sacks, stockings, Santa plate and pyjamas (bought in the size up from what they'll be the following Christmas, in the Next sale, so they last at least 2 years).

We always do a gift on Christmas eve. It's always new pjs (so no holey pjs in Christmas morning photos!), a book or dvd, a cuddly toy and a treat.

So things I would buy anyway but just given Christmas eve. I dont give them Christmas pyjamas its usually favourite character/animal. We do matching ones on 1st December to get the full wear out of them 😜

We don’t do a Christmas Eve box but have an advent box that has their calendars in, winter PJs (not Christmas ones - just new winter ones, Christmas glasses and plates etc. No presents as such just kick starting advent with getting out some main decorations and things. I’m looking out for PJ bargains - hoping for m&s discount weekend or Gap to have some with 40% off.

Anyone looking for Minecraft Lego treehouse I had a CCC alert it's at an all-time low of £73.12 on Amazon.
I also got £6 promotional credit by buying an Amazon gift card for £60.

Play-Doh Kitchen Creations Cheesy Sandwich Play Food Set for Kids 3 Years and Up Elastix Compound and 6 Additional Colors

I can't do a link without showing my details on Amazon but this is £5, thought it seemed quite good. Mine loved play dough when they were younger
