Ouch Chips hope you are taking it easy.

Enjoy your holiday Fluffy.

What activities are available at Center Parcs Neros? Are they still rationing the swimming? We are off to a forest lodge place soon for our wedding anniversary. No kids with us so no need for swimming, just hot tub, booze and good food, walking and reading.

The back to school emails from DS's school started today. Arrangements for Covid tests and details of the admin day at the start of term.

FireflyGirl · 21/08/2021 06:37

1 loo roll, Fluffy?? That is very tight! The cottage we usually go to stopped doing a welcome pack, but there were always enough loo rolls for the week! Shame about it being grubby, too Sad

When does he start back, Woolly?

You've reminded me I need to order DS some new jumpers. He's back on 7th, but the school have changed supplier to someone more local so delivery is much quicker.

I thought we'd had a lucky escape after DD's sickness bug earlier in the week. Alas, twas not to be. DS started at lunchtime yesterday by projectile vomiting all over DM's bathroom, and DH has spent most of the night in the toilet Hmm

I'm just glad it's this week and not next as we go away next Saturday!

I've never had enough loo roll for a week, but I've never had so little that we've needed to rush out to buy more!

The kids - who managed to share a room for the first time ever on holiday last night! - are already up. I've had less than 6 hours' sleep. I'm thinking it may be a lazy day today!

We've booked to go to the reindeer park tomorrow, which they'll hopefully love. We've decided against the wildlife park as apparently it's a massive trek round it and you don't necessarily see many animals. That combination wouldn't suit DS at all!

I've said I want a relaxing holiday, not to go back exhausted. We'll do a bit of a hike one day, but I'm not getting up and at 'em early!

Firefly, nightmare re the sickness bug. Let's hope it's short lived!

Woolly the swimming pool is still limited to two sessions per visit. But only in the Irish Center parcs. I think England has different regulations and it's just a free for all again.

Waiting on my Tesco delivery now with all my treats bottles of wine to take with us.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/08/2021 10:04

Crazy Taggart is probably very dated by now , though I like watching it because it shows lots of Glasgow in the 80s (I lived there 85-88)

Mark McManus era rather than when Alex Norton joined the Force , thankfully they didn't try and give Jim a NuHead , wouldn't have worked .

And , Trivia Fans Mark McManus is the half brother of Brian Connolly from The Sweet Xmas Grin

The episode I liked was the one with the young man who worked in the reptile/exotics zoo............ (Clue : there was a murder or two )

The Christmas Threads are getting busy now , lots of stocking/days out/ Christmas Bedding threads . And so far no Its Auuuuuugggust comments Xmas Grin

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 21/08/2021 13:33

I used to love Taggart with Mark McManus.

I went on a work night out yesterday which was fun. I was driving so one of the only sober ones. I did not fancy clubbing at the end of the night as I don't think it really works sober.

CrazyBaubles · 21/08/2021 13:57

Was Robbie Coltrane in Taggart? I have some random vague memory that maybe he was?

lachy we have lots of flies / bugs here too. I hate them.

Woolly I saw my niece and nephews on Thursday and she was telling me about the back to school stuff she's been getting (eldest nephew starts comp and the little too start official nursery (half days) here in September).

Dsis has bought their uniforms etc - niece told me she's starting school in 3 days 😂 She's so excited to go she's apparently been saying this for the last 2 weeks.
She's also very confused - she knows DH is a teacher so seems to be under the impression he's going to be in her school so she can see him ("and have sweeties") every day 😂

I've had a lovely lazy day today. Woke at 8 but stayed in bed mooching until 10. Have spent some time finishing the cross stitch Christmas card then learned how to use the sewing machine.
This afternoon will be spent walking the dog in the rain, showering then attempting to make a peg bag and maybe pillow cases if I have any idea what I'm doing and there is time.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/08/2021 14:12

Robbie Coltrane was in Cracker, Crazy!

We've had a lazy day here too. Good job as I am knackered. I feel sick, I'm so tired.

We're going to a reindeer place tomorrow, which should be good fun!

FireflyGirl · 21/08/2021 17:29

Lazy day here, too. DH and I have been tag teaming the DC, who are feeling a lot better than we are, while the other one sleeps!

Crazy your niece is so sweet! 🥰

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/08/2021 17:44

Ahh it is so sweet when LO are excited about Big School.
My DD used to wear her PE kit round the house Xmas Grin She knew where the classrooms were and where the toilets were when we went to pick up DS . Adults weren't allowed inside the school but her Big Brother was allowed to escort her .

Don't know if Robbie Coltrane was in Taggart at all but the character Robbie (played by John Mitchie who was Stella's sleazy OH in Corrie ) was a Steve Arnott Line-of-Duty type (anything with a pulse but his collegue escaped his advances )

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/08/2021 18:54

why I don't think I could face a nightclub drunk or sober these days 😂

Fluffy I hope you feel better soon

Crazy that is really sweet of your niece. DS goes back a week on Friday but it's been billed as an admin day. Timetables, lockers, Covid tests etc.

70 I think I stopped watching Taggart after Mark McManus died. I have vague memories of being traumatised by an episode where the victim had candles in his eye sockets 🤮

CrazyBaubles · 21/08/2021 21:19

Ah, maybe I'm getting my crime / murder shows muddled up Fluffy.
Not sure I could see Robbie Coltrane as anyone except Hagrid now though

Firefly niece is really lovely.
I hope you're getting a few naps in!

70 DSis has had to hide the school cardigan and pinafore dress because niece kept putting it on 'ready' 😂
When dsis went to see the school she took niece with her (youngest nephew is also going and as he has a disability dsis got to look around to make sure it's all accessible for him etc). Apparently there was a bit of a tantrum when leaving because niece decided she liked school because the chairs are small and there are lots of people to play with so she didn't want to come home.

Woolly DH is back in a week Thursday but I'm not sure if the kids are back the same day.

I've seen an add on fb for 3 months of The World of Cross Stitch for £5 - do any of you have it? Trying to decide if it's worth it or if it'll be a lot of patterns I'll never use just clogging up a drawer.

pussycatlickinglollyices · 22/08/2021 05:36

Crazy I think fluffy did/does. As they'll be the ones in the run up to Christmas, it might be worth it!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/08/2021 06:58

Morning!

We had very tired children last night; they were desperate to get to bed, which was very amusing!

I've had a bit more sleep than the previous night, but I'm not sure why I've woken up as I still feel tired! Silly body.

I do have WoCS, yes. For a fiver it's worth it, yes, as you get a little kit with each and I find patterns I want to do in all of them! I wouldn't pay full price though. I'm on a 6 for £10 offer well, DH is; I'd already had an online subscription so wasn't allowed!

I have been trying to have a nice lie in this morning to recover from the last week, but somebody had different ideas... Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2021 09:27

Is it Reindeer Park today Fluffy ?

We took our DC a couple of times to a local visitor centre on Christmas Eve . There was a big park , a lake , lots of people out walking , and a deer enclosure .(I don't think they were reindeer come to think of it , probably fallow but DC were excited to see them)
We were allowed to feed them ( signs up what they couldn't have) but they were stuffed to the gills so not bovvered and seriously endangering their ability to fly .....unless they fly on "natural gas" Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/08/2021 09:31

Ahhh Firefly you really cannot move a sleeping cat can you Xmas Grin

Love the sprawled taking up as much room as possible pose

WreckTangled · 22/08/2021 09:31

No lie in for me. Ds woke me up moaning at 6:45 🥱

Dh is working again so I'm doing washing, pretty sure that's all I do.

We're going to London Tuesday, trying to think of some things to do. We're parking near little Venice and getting the water bus to Camden but that's as far as I've got.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/08/2021 09:34

If it's not the kids, it's the cat! 😂😂

OP posts:
lachy · 22/08/2021 09:37

Morning all. No lie in here either. Did any of you have thunderstorms? They hit at about 3.30 - 4.00 here and I was very surprised that DD didn't come screaming into our room.

Think we'll just have a lazy day here, DD is quite happy watching Spirit (some horsey thing) and I've got a tonne of washing to sort!

NoWordForFluffy · 22/08/2021 09:38

Yes, it's the reindeer today, 70. We were debating whether to do the hill walk (at a cost of £60!), but decided that the 30 minute meet and greet will be fine. We have other walks planned which aren't on steep / slippery terrain so are less likely to lead to excessive whining during the week.

Apparently you're not allowed to pet the reindeer due to Covid. I can't quite work out the logic of that, however! 🤷‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 22/08/2021 10:18

Oh good, forecast says 5% chance of rain, but it's raining. Bodes well for later. 🙄

pussycatlickinglollyices · 22/08/2021 14:08

lachy possibly lightning, or maybe someone with a torch, I was too zonked to notice at 3am tbh. Grin
fluffy £60?!? think of all the knock off Baileys you could get! Halo
Firefly mine won't do that. Charlie will sleep next to me, then gradually push me off my own bed Hmm Tilly is a creature of habit. She got no sleep on Fri as I swapped her stinky blanket for a slightly less stinky different one. She's catching up quite sleepy today since the situation has been resolved to her liking. 🤦🏻‍♀️😿

pussycatlickinglollyices · 22/08/2021 14:10

fluffy DH cleaned the windows - sorry, didn't think it would travel that far north. Blush 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 22/08/2021 15:59

Ah, I knew there'd be a reason, Puss! 🤣

I'm glad we didn't spend £60 on trekking. The kids were quite happy with the £13 option!

No storm here. Yet. It feels really close at the moment though.
