Here is thread 4 this year. With an appearance from Mr Bon Jovi himself!

Neros I hope they sort the smell out soon 🤢

I do all the wrapping too (and because I'm a glutton for punishment I often wrap gifts my mum has bought for people as she has some nerve issues in her fingers and finds it really hard and when we were in the office I would wrap presents for £1 each as a fundraiser for a local charity).

I actually find wrapping presents therapeutic but I do absolutely demand that DH wraps my presents usually in the wrapping paper I've bought 🙄

puss the ironing board idea came because in the old house we had no tv in the dining room, it was always freezing in there and I wanted to be where the Christmas tree was.
I could use the table in this house though - it's in the conservatory where the tree will be and it has a tv Xmas Smile

DH has just gone. I have washing load 1 in and am putting away the last of the stuff upstairs. I think downstairs needs a very quick whizz around with the hoover then I'll be foraging for something to eat and cross stitching. I'll have to decide between watching a murder programme (I've started Top of the Lake) or finding something festive...

pussycatlickinglollyices · 19/08/2021 12:50

Crazy you can't beat a good murder. Grin

CrazyBaubles · 19/08/2021 16:01

I went for the murder series in the end puss. Was a good choice - top of the lake is very up my street for a series.

Cross stitch it coming on nicely but who the 🤬 thought metallic thread was a good idea?? I've been using it for the last hour and it's doing my head in!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 19/08/2021 16:31

There is a special place in cross stitch hell for the numpty who invented metallic thread.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/08/2021 17:14

I detest metallic thread. It is the worst stuff on the planet!

We're going to the British motor show tomorrow. Not sure what it'll be like but I got free tickets with my blue light card. I think ds will enjoy it.

Dd got a distinction in her grade 3 piano. I'm really pleased for her as she hasn't had a face to face lesson since March 2020 and she was still practicing her grade 2 then.

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/08/2021 17:25

Well done to your DD Wreck Has that given her commitment a bit of a boost?

WreckTangled · 19/08/2021 17:34

Yes. She's said she doesn't want to quit now. She got 94/100 in marks. We've agreed, though, that for next term she can just learn some pieces for fun and have a break from the exams. She's done four in two years so I can understand why she needs a break.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/08/2021 17:43

you can't beat a good murder

To quote Jim Taggart There's bin a Murr-dhurr Xmas Wink

Good Going WreckDD

I like a ghost/spooky film on Christmas Eve , recently re-watched Ghost Stories (2017) there's a twist at the end .
DH just binge watched The Missing (Series 1+2) which I never got into when it showed first , but Series 2 had the lovely David Morrissey ( being an arse though )

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/08/2021 00:24

And I sooooo need to be dragging my carcass off to bed now
Xmas Wink Zzzzzzzzzzz

FireflyGirl · 20/08/2021 03:42

DD is sleeping like a dream tonight, and I can't get to sleep! Probably because DH and I had a massive barney this morning and I'm still mad 😡

I'd leave him at home when we go on holiday next week, but he'd probably enjoy that!! Grin

I've loaded the washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, put away all the random stuff on the drainer, sterilised the bits for the breast pump (DD has yet to drink milk from anything but me, but I live in hope) and written a packing list and to-do list for next week. The cats keep huffing at me in disgust, and R-cat has stalked out!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2021 06:51

Morning. I'm at a petrol station in Preston on my way to Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I'm driving the first leg, DH gets Glasgow to Kingussie!

Safe journey fluffy. DH and DS are off for the weekend to visit the ILs so I get a weekend alone (well apart from 4 hours of babysitting a friends child tomorrow)! Lots of cross stitching for me Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2021 10:00

We're in Glasgow! Surprisingly little traffic on the motorway, so it was a good journey, thankfully.

It's breakfast time now. Hurrah!

I've never watched Taggart 70 - should I try it?

Oh I hate arguing with DH like that Firefly - he just switches it off and goes to sleep while I lie there wide awake and murderous.
Have you resolved it all this morning?

Jealous of your trip Fluffy. I bloody love Scotland!

Snap most - DH went yesterday and I'm free for almost a week, although back at work on Monday which gives me the whole weekend.
My plans include food shopping today, having friends over tonight, cross stitching, learning to use the sewing machine and walking with the dog.

Sideorderofchips · 20/08/2021 10:10

Morning all. Just had to take my dressing off after having a dodgy mole removed 🤢

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2021 10:17

You've never watched Taggart?! 😱😱 Maybe you're a wee bit too young?

I can't believe we came to Scotland as kids, seeing as dad can't drive! I don't think I could face driving the whole way on my own.

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2021 10:19

Do you have a big hole where it was, Chips?!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 20/08/2021 10:32

I've just had a look at Taggart. It seems it started the year I was born but ran until I was in my 20s so I think I was probably too young. May see if I can access it somewhere though.

DH always does all the driving Fluffy - last year he drove from here to the Lakes then up to the Highlands and a few Islands (Lewis / Harris etc).
I always offer to split the drive but he's the worlds worst passenger so prefers to do it all 🙄

Hope you're ok chips

Oh I forgot to say, I picked my car up yesterday from my parents and drove it home. First time driving it in weeks and weeks - I bloody love that car 🚙

NerosFiddle · 20/08/2021 11:42

Morning.

Hope you're ok chips.

Crazy, I think we're the same age and I remember taggart. I think they repeat it a lot on itv3/4

Enjoy Scotland Fluffy.

We're heading to centre parcs on Monday 🤞. It's been over a year of rescheduling so hopefully we'll finally get.

Sideorderofchips · 20/08/2021 16:00

I have a nice long chain of stitches the width of my armpit

Yep. I got a dodgy mole in my fucking armpit. Where it never sees the sun.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2021 17:31

Ooh, Chips! 😱 Are they sore?

Well, we're in our cottage (we got in a few minutes early as I couldn't wait any more) and it's quite cosy. However, they're bloody tight: no welcome pack of any description and only one loo roll! I've never been left only 1 before!

Also, I don't consider myself to be anywhere near Mrs Hinch when it comes to cleaning, but this is the second year running I've found the skirting boards and woodwork running up the stairs to be really grubby. Maybe it's me!

OP posts:
lachy · 20/08/2021 17:46

@Sideorderofchips ooh that sounds sore, hope you're taking it easy and not stretching!

@NerosFiddle Have a wonderful time at CP

@NoWordForFluffy That is very mean! One loo roll would last DD & DH all of about 5 minutes. I order 45 rolls at a time, lasts us about 6 weeks if I'm lucky

There is a pesky fly 🪰 buzzing around the lounge. It is driving me absolutely potty. The bloody thing is too stupid to fly out of the open windows!

WreckTangled · 20/08/2021 18:08

Lachy we've got so many flies in our house at the moment it's driving us mad. We keep killing them but there's just more and more!

Fluffy I would be really annoyed about the loo roll and lack of welcome pack Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2021 18:11

There ARE strict instructions on how to clean before we leave though. They reckon they can add £50 to our booking if we don't adhere to them. Ummmm, nope! It's not in the original contract, so ha ha haaaaa, on that front. You can't retrospectively add a contract term.
